With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

winter ball
miami vice with the la lights we joyride late in the night i don't mind, you know what you like yeah you know what you like
hogwarts was the last place josephine expected to be tonight, she was put on the night shift because it was usually quiet and she could do her paperwork in peace, daytime was usually when the exciting stuff happened, not at midnight in hogwarts castle. it was the winter ball and josphine used to love attending it, though she didn't truly appreciate that the previous year would be her last and she'd be thrust into the adult world with adult responsibilities, such as ensuring the safety of both the staff and students within the castle. though it did make her night interesting when she had recieved the information that the castle was under attack and needed aurors to investigate.
apparating into hogwarts was a fun task to begin with, she had always been told one could never do such a thing though in times of need she supposed that rule would go out of the window. and she didn't anticipate to see students injured especially her little sister, though her job mattered more than helping her at the moment because she needed to be debriefed on the situation and the only person who she thought to go to was mcgongall. taking notes on the situation, josephine was unsure what to do, she'd always been guided before.
she quickly took initiative, the injured children were the most important thing right now and once she ensured their safety she could question more, though she had no idea where to start. "can i help anybody? i'm here to assist and ensure safety." she asked one of the professors.
By loosing so much blood, Willow’s face became pale and his head felt extremely dizzy. It was as if voices around him echoed in his ears, and the shadows were blurry when he opened his eyes. Without being able to control his ability, his hair turned purple, when he decided to close his eyes again and rest his head against the floor. With a spinning head, the pain also began to feel familiar and faded away. Maybe it was also because he passed out from it… However, he woke up again when someone kneeled beside him.
He wanted to tell the woman to be careful, because the great hall was under attack, but when he opened his mouth, he was unable to speak. The boy just mumbled some nonsense which the woman beside him probably unable to understand one single word of what he was saying. For a moment, he had no idea what she was doing, but her words calmed him.
Willow’s wounds healed and his pain was fading, this time due to the professor’s healing spells rather than his loss of blood. It felt like it drummed from underneath his skin as if his heart was busy replacing what was lost. Mostly, it felt like he was about to grow a pair of wings out of his back. The more she healed him, the more the boy became aware of what has happened and the wounds that were tended to. The smoke cleared, and when he looked up again, he could see other injured students being taken care of and groups of youngsters being escorted back to their common room.
The darkness made her freak out and for the first time in a long time Ollie was absolutely terrified. The girl gave up on pulling her arm back, the snapping of her bones ensuring she'd stop trying. Her eyes tried to search for Gabriel who was so brave, tried to help her but as he attempted to lift the tree nothing happened. Nothing he could do because the tree was beyond any sized Christmas tree. Ollie's tears didn't seem to stop rolling from the corners of her eyes.
"It's not! Oh Gabriel it hurts so much! I think I broke my arm!" she sniffled and it felt like it lasted forever before the fog started to let the light in. So much was happening, all the professors working so hard to get everyone to safety. Ollie's blurred vision found her date and she reached out to him with her free arm. "Run for safety, go." she told him. She didn't want him to get hurt, she didn't want him to see her like this.
Ollie wiped her eyes with that free hand before spotting her big sister. "Gabriel! That's my sister!" she said and looked at Josie. "JOSIE, JOSIE HELP." she shouted as much as she could, her voice squeaky and raw from the crying. For a split moment she didn't feel the pain, she just needed her big sister to help Gabriel.

The person who's legs she collided with spoke a moment later, and then a patronus went flashing by, providing Grace with enough light to see who it was standing behind her. "Rebecca?" she breathed, before gasping as she caught sight of Rebecca's arm. "Bec, is it... was it just the ice or is there stuff in there?" She couldn't see well enough to inspect the Slytherin girl's arm closely and she didn't have her wand with her to help her friend magically, but she knew that Rebecca needed to apply pressure and as soon as possible. "It's... if you have a wand, scourgify your dress. If it's long enough, lift it to your arm and press down on your wound... or wounds. I can't see it well enough, but it should help stop the bleeding a little."
But then suddenly, the entire room was bathed in light, as though whatever had caused the darkness had disintegrated with the flick of a wand. Maybe it had, Grace didn't know. In the next few seconds, Professor O'Connor's voice was calling over the room, asking the uninjured prefects to help out the injured and after a brief glance at her arm which which was still oozing blood and quite heavily at that, Grace made the decision to help despite being wandless. There were student's in need, and she'd find a way to assist them regardless.
Her eyes scanning the room, they finally settled on Aiden and she rushed over to him, concern etched on every line of her face. "I need you to help me. I don't have my wand," she said, before reaching down to take his hand to tug him along like he was a little red wagon instead of a teenage boy. Then she heard the screaming coming from the Christmas tree and immediately, Grace broke into a run, dragging Aiden behind her, because she knew that voice. That was Ollie, and the poor girl was trapped beneath the tree, shouts filled with agony and pain that Grace could barely stand to listen to. "Aiden, leviosa the tree off her please - you too, Gabriel - and then if you summon some bandages towards me, Aiden, I'll wrap her arm up the muggle way. The matron should be able to give her some Skele-Gro in the hospital wing, but we'll stabilise the arm first."
Crouching down beside the tree, trying her best to hide her own injured arm from Ollie's view, Grace started to talk to the girl in a soft, murmured voice to try and distract her until the tree was off her friend. "It's okay, we'll get this off you, and fix you up in a minute. I promise. It won't be long now. You just have to stay still."
Felicity had never believed that a magical castle in a magical world with lessons in magic and spellwork all around could get even more magical. But just as her papa had promised, the Great Hall looked like a place straight out of a fairy tale once it had been decorated for the winter ball. Dressed in a blue dress which wasn't all that special, but the only one she'd been allowed to pick, she'd enjoyed the opportunity to dance with her friends, all the while eyeing the older students enviously and the beautiful, spectacular dresses they wore. She had just sat down along the sidelines of the dancefloor, resting her tiring feet when the double doors were flung open and it was as if Felicity had slipped into one of her nightmares. This was what she often woke up from, drenched in sweat, fear paralysing her. But this was no dream. Spells were fired in all directions and the redhead suddenly found herself on the ground with no idea if she had fallen or slid down from her chair. Her heart racing, she made herself as small as possible, crawling under the chair. Then the next second the whole Great Hall was pitched in impenetrable darkness. Felicity started screaming. She could basically already feel the pain coming, the attackers would find her. There would be fire. And she would die as had her parents. Tears started streaming down her face and her screams became shriller as she became aware of the shouts and cries in the darkness all around her. There were so many people, they were all dying! Her eyes were closed and she had covered her face with her hands, but when something touched her shoulder, she did her best to fight them off. Get away! The chair was lifted off her and when she finally opened her eyes to be able to fight, she saw a prefect before her, offering their hand, but she couldn't. Her limbs were trembling and almost numb, her face prickling, threatening to go numb as well and she just looked at them with big, frightened eyes. In but a moment they picked her up and carried her outside, the darkness having vanished and the doors opened.
Again she had her eyes closed for she could not bear to see what had happened. She didn't want to know. Were they safe? What was happening now? Tears were still running down her cheeks but she had managed to stop screaming.

winter ball
miami vice with the la lights we joyride late in the night i don't mind, you know what you like yeah you know what you like
josephine had heard her name, and automatically turned to the sound of it, under a christmas tree was her little sister, of course one of her siblings was caught in the chaos of the winter ball, they just couldn't stay out of trouble, though finding out it was olivia, josephine immediately went to stand by the tree, seeing the damage done to not only her sister but a boy she was seemingly with - she'd question that later. as josephine was approaching the tree, a girl josephine recognised was giving orders, she was great under pressure and appeared not to be injured though some people put on a brave face even if they were injured.
"good thinking, but you'd need a few more people to leviosa the tree, it may be unstable, so we all need to lift the tree up at once, then place it somewhere safe and out of the way. once it is, we need to seek medical attention, are the healers here or are they waiting in the hospital wing?" expecting the girl to know the answers to her questions was a stretch even for josephine, "actually, don't concentrate on that, we'll focus on the tree right now and then making sure ollie's arm gets bandaged."
having students with wands at their disposal was always a good sign, and perhaps she was prioritising her sister but josephine couldn't stand to see olivia in pain, especially if she could help. "sorry i don't know any of your names, i'm josephine. i'm a trainee auror and i'm here to help." josephine explained, her wand in her hand, ready to lift the tree, though once it was removed, josephine doubted olivia would be able to move, let alone be lead to the hospital wing if the healers weren't already here, if only the mediwitches and mediwizards had gotten the message too. "now lets lift that tree."
Silence, and then a piercing ringing filled Sam's head. He felt heavy, but there was a thudding panic running through his veins. Why? What had happened? He pressed his hands to the cold stone and attempted to lift himself but as so as his head left the ground pain seared through it and he fell back down. What had he been doing? The ball... The Winter dance... He had walked in and... Talking to Grace. And Faith. He remembered. But how?
Then it hit him. The screams and the ice shattering. Grace and Faith! Were they alright? He remembered jumping, and falling. So his heroics were for nothing. He screwed up his face as he tried to open his eyes, the ringing in his ears growing louder and more booming as light flooded his vision. It was professor O'Connor's voice. All Sam could see were shapes, his vision blurred and spotted. Movement, and more movement. It was all so scary, and he felt so heavy. No one could move him from this spot. He'd lay here forever, sinking into darkness. Gravity pulled him onto his back and he cried out as the shards of melting ice pushed into his back.
He was still... So... tired. Maybe if he laid here someone would tuck him in. Or he'd die. Both sounded so comforting. He tried once more to open his eyes. Things came into sharper focus, but the light still hurt.
At some point in time, Sally's eyes started fluttering open, and all she could see from the floor was a blurry stampede of feet leaving... leaving the building? Leaving her all alone, on the ground, to die? Immediately, panic rose in the girl's chest and she just barely managed to lift herself up on her elbows before groaning audibly because her head? It was aching.
Reaching up with one of her hands, Sally felt the back of her head beneath her curls and immediately warm wetness coated her fingertips. Bringing her fingers to her face, her breath caught in her throat because blood? BLOOD?! Normally, the sight didn't phase but as she stared at her fingers - were there more than two? When did she grow an extra few fingers? - nausea hit her and immediately, Sally's stomach churned with the urge to throw up.
Trying her very best not to because that definitely wasn't a cool thing to do, Sally dropped back down to the floor and closed her eyes, trying to stave off the feeling but Merlin's saggy knickers, she felt like she was, like... the Earth, spinning on it's axis, around and around and around...

"Damn right I would. Nothing sexy about my accent compared to yours." she said with the same smirk still on her expression. Honestly she didn't care if Alana was insulting her mother into an early grave, Kaylie would still be turned on by her Italian words. She cocked her head a bit as Alana complimented her own dress, it was only because of Alana that she was even wearing it. Kaylie hated dresses and if she wanted to be naked and exposed she'd drag her girl to a bedroom not.. this.
"Glad you like it." she said and was about to head with her girlfriend to the dancefloor when it all went to shit. "I don't.. shit are you okay?" there was going to be so much bloodshed and Alana wasn't really popular when some bimbo got herself injured enough. Kaylie returned the squeeze and just moved closer to Alana. She didn't really get the chance to say much else before teeth were in her own neck.
"Yes sure, go ahead." she managed to say almost in a joking fashion even when it wasn't really time for jokes. Kaylie just wrapped her arms around Alana and let out a small moan, it was just a lot at once. Blood being drained slowly from her veins, which was quite a turn on for some reason, the chaos around her just got muted and her eyes were closed. "You okay?" she asked once Alana's teeth were no longer draining blood from her neck.
"D-did you get enough?" Kaylie asked as she sank down, crawling back against a wall to rest her head. "Stay back here..." Kaylie couldn't see a damn thing and it was bothering her a lot. The screams and chaos gave her a bloody headache until there was bangs, something bright and suddenly the smoke had vanished. "Alana?" she asked looking for her girlfriend now she could actually see. "Shit the ministry is here."
The pain was causing her vision to blur once more as she tried to shift her body. She was halfway under a heavy tree and the pain was killing her. Ollie looked at her sister coming to her aid as well as Grace and Aiden. "Gracie! Thank god..." she mumbled and tried to rub her eyes with her free hand. Ollie looked at her with her big blue eyes with grattitude but also concern. "Are you okay? You're not hurt too are you?" she asked and eyed Aiden. "Neither of you right?" She didn't want others to be hurt as well.
"Josie!" she was so glad her sister was there, that she heard her screams. She looked at Grace who told her not to move and Ollie nodded slowly. "Okay.." she watched her sister take charge, tell them to lift the tree and speak about medical people. One day she would be one of them and right now was maybe not the time to think about her future.
"T-Thank you." she said with a cracked voice, her voice got squeaky and half faded. It was a common sound of someone who lost their voice due to screaming or heavy crying which just happened to be what Ollie did. The girl stayed still and closed her eyes, she couldn't watch this.

Far too early in the evening, some one else decided to make a grand entrance. The music stopped abrubtly with the crash of the Great Hall doors and Willy was left bellowing out a particularly amazing note all by his lonesome; when he opened his eyes there were literally three seconds to register all that he could of the carnage before the Great Hall went pitch black.
"OI YOU FUCKERS!!! HAVE SOME FUCKING RESPECT FOR THE DEAD!!!" Willy yelled into the charmed, magical version of a microphone. Somewhere in the background, he heard the undeniable sound of a guitar being smashed on the stage behind him. "Don't you throw a fucking tantrum Tremlett YOU'RE SEVENTY YEARS OLD!" Willy threw his microphone in the direction of the noise but all of the young man's talents went into his ability to be a show pony and decidedly not into any kind of athletic ability. "You're just lucky I can't fucking see you right now Willy!" came the reply and Willy let out a scream of frustration - just adding to the pathetic screams of the scared little kiddies.
Then there was light and the Great Hall looked like one of Willy's father's wilder parties. Willy was still on the stage but the other band members were smoking something in a corner, and Willy was tapping his heeled foot impetuously. "You rotten little fucktards," Willy snarled and stormed off the stage, storming towards where he spied Vinda in her less-than-perfect dress now. "See Vinda? THIS... THIS!!!! is why we can't have nice things at this establishment," Willy ran a hand through his hair - or at least attempted to. With all the product in it, the stupid fingers couldn't get into his quiff very far at all. "You're alright?" despite possible efforts from the students to attack those on stage, the jacket he wore retained the manticore's resistance to spells and thankfully left him scratch-free. On the stage, the exploding ice was too far away to cause him any trouble either.
"I think it was just the ice. " The sixth year nodded when Grace told her to use her dress to stop the bleeding. As soon as the room became lit once again Rebecca caught a glance of Grace's arm. Before she could make a comment about it Grace had already gone off to assist one of the other injured students. Rebecca pulled out her wand and performed the spell on her dress. She then lifted some of the material towards her arm and pressed it onto her wounded arm.
Hearing a pained cry she recognized Rebecca rushed over to Sam lying on the ground. She heard the earlier announcement from Professor O'Connor that uninjured prefects should assist the injured. However, Rebecca knew she couldn't leave Sam alone when he was hurt, even if Rebecca herself had been injured herself moments ago when the ice sculpture shattered. Sam was her boyfriend and even though she hadn't come with him to this dance he was still her housemate. She would never leave somebody in need either.
Earlier she hadn't even noticed he was lying on the ground due to the previous darkness. Now that it was light again she could make out his form perfectly."Sam?, Oh my god, Sam?!" she cried out looking him over.
GRACE LONGBOTTOM , @sam (hope this is ok. As far as I know Rebecca and Sam are still dating. Not completely sure since I haven't seen Lara lately. I can change if needed.)

Derek was off duty. In his case, especially around this time of the day, it meant he was down some liquor by now. Usually that wouldn’t be a problem. The man was peacefully falling into an early slumber when a patronus crashed into his living room. “Potverdriedubbeltjes!” The auror shook awake, only half listening to the instructions he was given. His head was still foggy due to the alcohol consumption. “Rustig, I just finished duty three hours a-” An attack within Hogwarts. Say no more to get this old man ready. Derek didn’t give two craps that he was wearing jeans and a plain grey shirt. Throwing on a coat would suffice. If the ministry dared to complain, he’d argue there were more important things going on than changing to a suit or set of robes.
Living in Hogsmaede had its perks. One couldn’t disapparate from or to Hogwarts. Not that he was in the mental state to perform such transportation. His long legs carried him towards the castle. ‘Man I really need to cut down on those cigarettes,’ he thought to himself. Might be best to give a good example to Feli as well. First he had to find her and make sure she was doing okay without forgetting his task.
As he arrived, he saw many students leaving the doors of the great hall already. He had to squeeze himself through inorder to get into the hall. Why didn’t this place have more exists for safety reasons? Everytime a mop or red curls passed, he took a good look and hoped it was Felicity. Unfortunately he hadn’t found her by the time he got in and was starting to grow really worried. While looking for her, he also looked for any staff members. Preferably the headmaster but he couldn’t find her.
Then like some deus ex machina, he saw the tiny Gryffindor girl standing. Rushing towards her, he knelt down to examine if she had any injuries. He noticed a starting bruise on her shoulder but nothing life threatening. Thank heavens. “Hey little soldier, it’s okay it’s over. Please follow a prefect, papa has to take care of something,” he said and placed a little kiss on her forehead. As he did this, Derek pushed his red checkered handkerchief in her hand to dry her tears. Of course he couldn’t stay long, he had a job to do. Still it pained him having to leave her like that.
Back to work. Of course the first adult he laid his eyes on was…. “Jack,” he spoke the name in a less than amused tone. His deep brown eyes were stern and disappointed. “Please explain to me how you dare to complain about my colleagues while you cannot even do your own job correctly.” The auror was seriously pissed right now. Usually he didn’t mind the never ending complaints. However with this happening it was the other party who had some explaining to do. “Home come a teacher who is so involved with his students’ well being not recognize radicalisation within students he has been teaching for years?” Oops. His alcohol intake might have cut the line between professional act and emotions. He took out his notebook where he started scribbling down in his messy handwriting. It was going to be very hard to fight the upper politicians who would want to see the school closed or even further restrictions. “I’m going to do my best to clean up your mess without getting the school closed but you’re going to have to help me. Alright what I was told: Some students of this school decided to initiate an attack during the yule dance. Could you tell me who were the attackers and have any of them escaped?” Derek did notice some teenagers in ropes so he assumed they were involved.
The ball was ruined. Not just by the ugly as sin dresses and suits several people donned, but by some inbred half-breeds who had taken it upon themselves to ruin Vinda's night. The one night of the year that she had to dress up extravagantly and outshine the rest of her peers. It made annoyance tick inside her like the grandfather clock she had in their foyer at home, and she wanted more than anything to get revenge on these miscreants for daring to interfere with her fun.
As the lights flooded back into the room, Vinda's eyes sought out Flora immediately, although despite the heels she was wearing that gave her a few extra inches, she couldn't see a thing. It appeared that the people surrounding all been hit with an Inflation Charm... or there had simply just been eating too much. It was probably the latter, but before Vinda could dwell too much on that, a voice interrupted her.
Her first instinct was to tell the person off for daring to yell at her, but when she realised it was William, she softened just a touch. It was the memorial for his father who had died under... tragic circumstances, although Vinda did not particularly sympathise for them at all. It reminded her too much of what would one day likely be the fate of her own mother - she'd drink herself to death. "William, if you're going to raise your voice at me, then at least do it in private. People are staring," Vinda said before pursing her lips. "I'm fine. I cast a shield charm as soon as I could. I'm not some simpleton and I'm certainly not some hero. My first priority was to save myself." Well... no. It was to seek out Flora, actually, but she couldn't do that in the pitch black with spells flying every which way.
"Your singing was good whilst it lasted." It was rare that a compliment fell from the blonde's lips, but she meant it. Willy's singing was something she enjoyed listening too, not too high-pitched or over the top. She could appreciate that his voice was his instrument, much like her violin was to her. Even more so, she could appreciate that he hadn't become one of those guitar players who thought there was skill in singing sad, emo music and strumming a bunch of strings.

The orders he had sent out to his colleagues and the students were being obeyed and as quick as a flash, the aurors had started arriving. Immediately, Jack was accosted by Richard Linwood, a trainee auror who was giving him orders and he was straight to the point. The sooner Richard knew what was going on and could start helping, the better. "There was a blitz attack by six of our students, the ones who were tied up. Several different years involved, all of them have siblings who were kicked out of Hogwarts due to the legislation that forbids werewolves from attending. It started with the Christmas tree falling, then there were ice sculptures that started exploding all of a sudden. By the time we saw the culprits, the room went pitch black. Peruvian Darkness Powder, I'm assuming, because none of the light casting spells worked. I saw Ariana and Theo, the ones over there just before it did, and managed to take them out. I haven't had a chance to talk to her, but I believe Ariella was the one to get Miguel, and I know that Sebastian got the three barricading the door once there were patroni cast and he could semi see what was going on. Then Almir broke the doors down, and I think Zoe blew the dust out. It all happened so quickly, not even ten minutes. We tried out best but there was just... so much chaos."
Jack was interrupted a moment later, a deep voice calling his name that he knew all too well and immediately, his temper surged. Nobody could get his blood boiling quicker than his ex who knew exactly what to say to get under his skin. "Do you really want to talk about doing jobs correctly? Go and talk to the students, Derek. You'll find that all of them have siblings who are werewolves and kicked out of Hogwarts as a result of the Ministry's legislation. It's not hard to see that is more than likely why this group of students has attacked us." The stale, alcoholic breath brushed his face as Derek spoke next, outright accusing him of being blind to the situation and Jack reached up to pinch the bridge of his nose hard. "First of all, maybe you need some water, and then you need to realise that I am not personally involved with every single student in the castle, and I do not monitor every move they make. This is not my fault, nor the faculties, and I will not have this pinned on me."
His mess. His. Those words, combined with the patronising tone that left Derek's mouth, hadJack's jaw clenching. Bastard. "Before you go pointing fingers, maybe you should re-evaluate where this situation stems from," he bit out, before shaking his head. "Ariana Macmillan, Theo Nottingham, Miguel Abascal, Hugo Abby, Kate Brown, Sergio Amante. No, none of them escaped to my knowledge. We caught all of the attackers. Now that you have all of the details, you can go crucify these kids siblings for something that's beyond their control. That's what the Ministry's best at, isn't it?"
Fire blazed behind Jack's eyes and he turned his back to Derek as he addressed Richard instead. He didn't want to deal with him anymore, not when he was being like that, and it appeared the trainee auror had a calmer head on him anyway. "I apologise. If you have any more questions for me, please let me know. I'm willing to give you all the help you need, but otherwise, I need to go and help my students."
6'0". IRISH. BIG HEART. LOYAL. BRAVE. WORKAHOLIC. BISEXUAL. SINGLE. distinguishing features: a big scar runs across jack's left cheek credit for award goes to ollie! <3
