With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

“Everyone gather! We’re going to have a one of a kind class today and you’ll regret missing it,” the deep voice of the quarter giant echoed over the lawns as students arrived. When the group seemed complete Almir smiled at the small group before him. These kids were the same he taught when he first started. Some of them would graduate this year and it made the huge man a bit emotional. But there was still an entire year ahead of them and it was going to be great! “I’m glad you all could make it. Let’s get started shall we?”
Taking the lead, Almir brought his students to the edge of the forest. There from a distance in a set off area where no other creatures could enter, a green scaled creature could be spotted. He waited at the line before turning to the students once they’ve gathered. “You’ll be staying beyond this line out of safety. The lil’ grabb is harmless. But not for the right reasons,” he said before he stepped over the line with the use of a magic spell. “Pan, I’m back,” the teacher said into the direction of the green lizard. The creature recognized his voice and came running towards him. A musical roar could be heard as the dragon arrived. It’s scaly head pressed against Almir’s chest and the man looked down with a sad smile. “The Common Welsh Green can grow up to 5,4 meters in height. This poor bugger is a runt only a quarter in height of other lads of his age.” The dragon was barely larger than the students and only reached till Almir’s shoulders.
“He was raised in captivity. Rich people put him in a cage for display. They removed the organ where the natural flammable gas is produced. They also declawed him and stumbled down his fangs. This is inhumane and had I gotten my hands on who did this, I’d have crushed their ugly head against the wall,” he was getting real fed up over it and remembered to keep his cool just in time. “Does anyone else notice something significantly different about this little guy’s behavior?” Almir asked as the dragon kept throwing puppy eyes for snacks.

Of all professors at this school, Nadya had always felt the most attachment to Almir. For her, it was a matter of having someone like her stand up proudly in front of all of them, brave enough to teach a subject called Care of Magical Creatures when he, like Nadya, must have known the pain of being called some sort of half-breed creature. It did not hurt that this was one of the classes she actually did enjoy, hanging onto every word about how to properly care for magical beasts, something she felt she had been denied by growing up in the human world.
It also did not hurt that he was attractive, something that Nadya had noticed from the first time she'd entered his class, something about the image of a tall, muscular forest man with a beard heating something inside the half-veela girl. That, though, was something she had to squash, keeping that fantasy for her own mind, and ripping her eyes away from the professor, she watched the little dragon he had brought for them. While Nadya herself had never met a dragon, she knew before Almir had even spoken that the one in front of them was nowhere near its full size. Hearing him speak about all the horrors that had been visited upon the little beast--because truly, he was little, even if he was nearly as tall as Almir--Nadya felt her teeth grit together, anger at the injustice rising in her, and she clenched her fists hard at her sides, hoping she wouldn't begin to sprout feathers out of outrage.
"Can he even fly?" she asked, her good mood from being outside evaporating. "And how is he so friendly to you?"
Leo was always grateful when he could walk across the grounds to the care of magical creatures class. It was a very welcome breather in between all the demanding lessons where the air inside the classroom practically smelled of hard work and thinking. Out here he felt like with all the stress of the oncoming exams, he could finally breathe, at least for a bit. That was not to say that he didn't have to pay attention in this class. It might come a little more easily to him than for example arithmancy, but he enjoyed it all the same.
While Leo didn't have the biggest heart for animals and didn't quickly get too attached to them, he did look on in horror when the professor showed them a dragon that had been treated terribly! He wondered how anyone could do this and live with themselves. "Why does he only jump?" he asked, adding to his class mate's question. It looked more like a horse really, the way it behaved, than a dragon.
