With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Colwynn wasn't exactly thrilled to be back at school. She and her dad had chosen to summer in New York and it made her realize how much she missed all the noise and the dirt and the bitches. Summer had been a grand adventure. She and her dad had actually played a few shows together. It had been like pulling teeth to get her on stage, but once she was there all of the anxiety she'd been wrestling with just...disappeared and she'd learned something she'd been reluctant to believe. Performing...was like drugs. Addictive, expensive, and fun as hell. She'd never considered an actual career in music, despite the fact that she'd been playing guitar and singing since she could walk and she certainly had family connections, but now she wasn't sure. Either way, what she wanted to do was going to be a long shot.
She still had time to think about all of that, though. For now she was content to go to school and help her dad with his musical on the side. She liked writing music. She wasn't always the best with melody, but lyrics were where she could shine. As she was studying what her dad had given her of the script and considered a word in the lyrics before crossing it out with a swift swipe of her pen.
So consumed in her task, she folded her notebook over on itself and kept working on it as she walked towards the school at the toll of the bell. If she'd been paying closer attention she probably would have seen or heard the third year brat who rushed past her and knocked her over. Her chin hit the ground with a resounding 'clack'with the snapping of her teeth. She got up on her knees and shouted some choice profanities and the younger student, who proceeded to run faster upon learning Colwynn's vocabulary. She stood up and sat down on a seat in the courtyard, pulling out a hand mirror (which sported a few cracks that she never bothered to fix) and craned her neck to find that she was sporting a large gash in her chin. She said a few more words to herself, none of which would be acceptable in 'polite' company.
