With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The music halted as soon as Vi opened the door, announcing her presence to Mark, and there was a moment of disappointment that the girl felt. But then... she'd been the one to interrupt him, so it was kinda sorta logical that he'd stop playing, right? Right. Gosh, of course. She could be so silly sometimes. Despite being a Ravenclaw, thinking wasn't exactly Vi's forte.
When Mark opened his mouth to reply to her, Vi was expecting him to very much be the grumpy bum he always was around her. But instead, he thanked her, then asked if she played the guitar she was holding. "Well, I wouldn't be holding it just for fun," she teased with a giggle as she moved forward, sliding her bottom onto a desk opposite Mark and grinning up at him. "I've been playing since I was an itty bitty tyke. Writing music, too. How long have you and your fabby dabby hands been playing the violin? ... Gosh, that sounds like my name, almost! Just take away the 'n' and change the 'i' for the 'a' and you're golden."
With that said, Vi balanced the body of the guitar on her thigh, before moving her fingers into position and letting out a deep breath. She was never normally so nervous when performing, but he seemed like quite the harsh critic. She gave herself to the count of '3' and then she started playing one of the songs she'd written years ago, fingers strumming at the chords and her voice joining in moments later. It was, like he had played, a sad song, and her voice was light and airy yet full of meaning behind each word.

Despite the fact that it was raining outside and there was a chill deep inside the stony castle, Vi still fully believed that it was a beautiful day. There was a lot to do inside like paint and write and play her guitar, the latter of which she planned to do as soon as she found an empty classroom which hopefully would be at any moment now. She wanted to find somewhere quiet to play, somewhere she wouldn't buggity bug her roomies.
Turning the corner into the dungeon with her guitar tucked under her arm, Vi paused for a moment as the sound of music floated to her ears. There weren't any words, but the way it made her feel... it pulled at her heartstrings, drew her in. It felt like there was a meaning behind it, something Vi found vital to make a song special to her.
Before she truly knew it, Vi's feet started moving once more, heading towards the source of the... violin? It sounded like a violin. Her hand poised on the doorknob, Vi pushed it open with a loud creak, stepping inside only to find herself face to face with Marky Mark Grimstone. "Hiya!" she said brightly, not an ounce of shyness in her body as she took a few steps forward again. "I just wanted to let you know... I think you're an absolutely super duper spectacular musician! I haven't heard anyone that good for... well, for a long time."

Vi's tongue instantly wormed it's way into her cheek and with mischievous eyes, she gave Flora's hair the tiniest of tugs. "Did that turn you on, you funny bunny?" she teased with a giggle, before sighing dramatically. Not a braidy hair dress. Golly gosh, all these rules! That's why Vi's hair was cropped to her shoulders. It was easy to deal with, just run a brush through it and wear it down or tie half of it up. No drama llamas!
But Flora's next statement had Vi blinked, befuddled. "Puppies... what pup... OH! Your... right. Puppies. Bobbly boobs." They really were out there in the dress Flora wore, but Vi certainly wasn't complaining. Body love for all! Totally something she promoted. The twinkle in Vi's eyes only just grew stronger as she bopped Flora with her shoulder, joking, "Careful, Flora. I have a way with the ladies now, didn't you know?" She was, of course, referring to the absolutely marvelous smoochie woochie fest she'd had with Celeste in her dorms. The one she'd excitedly whisper-shouted at Flora when she'd joined her for breakfast the next morning.
Vi nodded at Flora's suggestion of just moving her mouth with confidence, like it was a precious pearl of wisdom. Gosh, Flora was such a smart cookie! It definitely made Vi wish she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw for her. She was quickly veered off that line of though as Flora said, 'I don't think they've stopped much' and Vi broke into a great big smile again because good for them. Super duper good! "I hope they're just being safe. Y'know... making sure the door's locked and everything," she whispered, pulling a face as her hand was swatted at. "She looks beautiful, and Liam does too. Two brilliant, beautiful beans."
"Maybe you're the veela - ever think of that, you gorgeous creature, you?" Vi whispered straight back at Flora, and then Archie was approaching them. Immediately, VI beamed, especially as he said the words 'bonnie' in that handsome Scottish accent of his. It was positively swoon-worthy, definitely made her want to plant one on him! Maybe later though, because then he was compliment her dress and Vi did a little twirl, arms spread. "Maybeeeee Archie, you can dance but you just don't know it! Like one of those hidey hole talent thingy majigs, y'know? Like when people don't know they twist their tongue a funny way until they try." Made sense to her!
All of a sudden, another person wiggled their way into their conversion. More the merrier, at least that's what Vi though! "Hey Gem!" she greeted brightly. She'd just started nodding enthusiastically to the younger girl's suggestion when suddenly, Flora tugged the girl away and onto the dancefloor. 'Be nice,' Vi mouthed at her friendly before she started laughing because silly. Silly, silly girl! She hoped Gem had a sense of humour on her and would wiggle along. Turning to Archie once more, Vi waved her hands as she tried to explain who John Lennon was. "He's... the, uh... one with the tongue. He has something to do with rocks too, and apparently he's a very good dancer! That's why he's got the moves."

"He smells like boy. Teenage boy. I like them as much as the next person - well, not the next person coz not everyone likes boys - but boys don't always smell the best. Unless they shower five times a day," Vi joked, giving Ed a tiny prod on his side once more.
"Yeah, but what about all my timey wimey time? Time is money! Or... muse, cause I don't get paid for... anything, really!" she said with a very certain nod. It'd be grand if she did, she could buy new paint supplies and the such, but it seemed more like a 'future' thing.
"The Ravenclaw tower gets awfully chilly up there in winter though! All the whooshy wind and the... icy air and... stuff," she said, waving her hands exuberantly as she tried to paint a picture of what it was like for her brother... and she was failing at it, rather miserably. Eyes lighting up with mischief, she teased Edmund, "Maybe they think all snakeys belong in the dungeons cause it's cold and stuff like your heart."
"Do... you have a pet cat?" Vi asked, utterly bewildered and not quite catching the reference Ed was hinting at. Then she shook her head because, "Nope! I don't need new paint and the splattering is an important part of my artistic process, silly billy! Don't doubt the process. It works. That's why it's a process."
A ball was something that Viola was beyond super duper excited for especially given that last year when she'd gotten her dance on, she ended up shimmying with a great big grumpy pants in her year, urging him to move his body to the sound of the music. He'd refused, of course, but after the dance they'd entered into a great big flirtationship, one that had culminated in Vi's first big smoochie smooch sesh in the Herbology greenhouse... and then in the Astronomy tower, the Charms classroom, several broom closets, the grounds and his dorm room. It was a gosh darn shame it had ended, but such was life, and Vi had moved onto kissing other people instead.
With a smile as bright as the sun, Vi grinned as she passed by a few of the students waiting for their partners, until she spied Flora with her little eyes. Bouncing over, Vi flung her arms over Flora's neck, giving her a tiny squeeze before stepping back. Instantly, Vi's fingers went to Flora's hair, twirling a strand around her fingers. "You look amazing ohmygosh, look at your hair! It's so luscious and long and by Merlin, I just wanna braid it! You ready to go in?" Before Flora had a chance to answer, Vi took her hand, pulling her into the hall with a laugh. "You need to teach me all those words, else I'm gonna look like a great big silly billy not singing along!"
Looking around, Vi's finger immediately found Elena and Liam. "Look at the two little love birds! D'you reckon they'll smoochie smooch tonight? Again?" she whispered excitedly, before she was quickly distracted by another person. Immediately, she broke into a grin, giving Archie a wave. "I'm gonna make Flors dance! Come join us, won't you? I bet you're the bees knees at dancing! What do those muggles say... uhm... oh! I betcha got the moves like John Lennon!"

Edmund, the cleanest person - no, not just cleanest twelve year old - she knew was instantly on high alert, looking down and checking his shirt. "It's a bit of paint. No germy germs in sight," Vi said with a laugh, shrugging. "'Sides, it's dry. Not a speck of paint on that pristine little shirt of yours, Eddie!"
"Ed, I'm not Ezra. I'm not stinky," Vi said, poking out her tongue. What a duffer, thinking she needed to shower. "I'm not finished anyway, so why do I need to shower right now? I don't want to waste water, and I'm just gonna get dirty again anyways!"
"Dark matter and... string theory. Okie dokes! Merlin, maybe you should have been a Ravenclaw, not me," Vi teased, giving Edmund a little poke in the site. "My painting is grand! I've still got heaps more to do... and no, silly, I just got into it. Inspired. My brush moved with the utmost passion over the canvas, and I was caught in the moment. So much muse."

The knowledge that she was Celeste's very first kiss hit Vi like a ton of bricks and immediately, she felt a bit... guilty, she supposed. Celeste deserved a better kiss than she'd gotten right? One that involved a date and showering with affection and... someone who was interested in a girlfriend/boyfriend - or, in this case, girlfriend/girlfriend situation. Something that Vi wasn't super duper keen on, not at this point in her life. "Oh... oh, Celeste! I'm so sorry. I wouldn't have - Merlin's saggy knickers, I'm glad it felt right, but I thought you'd snogged someone before. Otherwise I would've tried to make things a bit more special for you. Golly gosh. You're... we're alright, yes?"
Celeste's hand that snaked around Vi's waist was enough to make the girl smile again because she adored being touched by others, it made her feel comfortable and at peace. But then Celeste asked what it 'made them' and Vi found herself hesitating. She didn't want to hurt Celeste's feelings if the girl was after anything more, but she didn't want to string her along either. "I... you know I adore you to bits and pieces, right? But we're fourteen - or, well, have you had your fifteenth birthday yet? I can't remember... gosh, I'm so bad at remembering the dates. I always forget Ezra and Edmund's," Vi said, her mind getting sidetracked rather quickly until she met Celeste's face again. "Uh, well. I don't really want a... girlfriend or a boyfriend. I kinda want to, y'know, just... smooch as many people as I can. I don't want to be tied down with one person when I just wanna have fun. Like that song! Oh, you know that muggle one, by Cyndi Lauper? Girls just wanna have fun..." There she went, all distracted again as she broke into the little ditty.

Walking into the Defense Against the Dark Arts with a great big grin on her face, Vi wasn't shy one iota as she greeted her classmates and friends, waving chirpily at each of them and shooting them bright smiles. She wasn't quite sure who to sit with today, there were so many choices! She could sit next to Flora who she blew an extra special kiss towards, or Olivia who she'd passed some chocolate to in her last lesson, or even Elena when she showed up. But as her eyes swept over the room, they landed on Felix sitting all by his lonesome, an... interesting look on his face. That's where she needed to be.
Beelining straight towards the desk that Felix sat at, Vi flopped into the chair next to him. "Heya, Fe!" she said brightly, nudging him with her elbow gently. "You alright? You look as sour as a lemon!" Digging into her bag, Vi took out her ink pot, parchment and textbook, all things she'd make good use of later in the lesson, without a doubt!
Turning her attention to the front of the class, Vi watched for a moment as chaos unfolded after Professor O'Connor introduced 'werewolves' as the topic of the day. Immediately, her eyes sought out Liam, and she mouthed, "I'll give you a hug later," before drawing a love heart with her fingers in the air. It was a friendly gesture on behalf of Vi, it always was, and she ignored the mocking snicker coming from the left of her from Greyson Avery.
Then people started answering Professor O'Connor's question, and Vi fell quiet, grabbing her quill. It looked like she was writing notes on her parchment but all truthfulness, she wasn't. She wasn't even listening. Instead, she was doodling the pretty face of one of her besties, Clarissa, whose hair looked absolutely stunning with that shade of blue the other day!

Walking into the Great Hall with a skip in her step, Vi was well aware that she probably looked a bit bonkers in her pair of paint-splattered overalls and her blonde hair half-tied up out of her face but she didn't care one bit because all morning, she had been working on her latest and greatest painting, and she wasn't about to change out of her overalls just to eat lunch and get other clothes dirty. What was the point in that? Besides, the splattered paint was dry, it wasn't like she'd get paint everywhere.
Humming as she considered where to sit, Vi span in a circle, until suddenly she spied her little brother. Well, one of them, and she knew instantly that it was Edmund. They may have tried to fool her every now and then, but she could tell Ezra and Edmund apart like nobody else could. There was no pulling the wool over her eyes, no siree!
As soon as Vi looked a bit closer and saw a bunch of boys pointing and giggling at Edmund, she made her decision. Waltzing over to the table, she shot the bunch of boys a look and said loudly, "Super duper sad you're a bunch of fourth years picking on a second year, especially considering that you, Corner, couldn't even cast a leviosa in class the other day."
The giggles stopped immediately and turning around, Vi wrapped an arm around her brother's side, giving him a squeeze. "Hey Eddy Edster, whatcha doing? Looks super duper hard! Good thing you've got such a big brain that noggin' of yours!"

"Sure you can. You can be whatever you want. Calling someone a silly billy doesn't mean I'm calling you a boy - not that there's anything wrong with that anyway. But in Australia, a 'billy' is a some funky dunky pot they cook with when they camp... I think. So it doesn't mean that I'm calling you a boy," Vi said lightly, though she started giggling as Lucy mentioned that 'billen' meant 'buttcheeks in Dutch. "Are you Dutch? How d'you know that? I only know the Australian thing because, well, that new Professor is from Australia - Aussieland, as they call it -" Not that anyone called it that. "- and I was doing some research! Or... I guess... I just asked my housemates but that's totally counts, right?"
The next words from Lucy's mouth were ones inviting her to dance and with a great big grin, Vi stepped forward into Lucy's space, grabbing the girl's hands and wiggling her body about to the song that was playing. Speaking of which... "What song's this? I haven't heard this one! Do you play any music? Do you sing or play any instruments?" Her questions were quick and rapidfire, much like Vi herself. She wasn't afraid to be 'too much' to some people.

"A Slytherclaw - how absolutely genius, wowee, you are just... ugh, your mind," Vi raved, reaching up to gently tap the top of Elena's head with one finger with a giggle. "How cool would that have been? We could see each other from dusk til dawn and like... you ever wish something that never happened could happen? 'Cause that's what I wish right now!" If she ever met a genie with a lamp, that'd definitely by one of her wishes... she wasn't sure on the other wishes, but that would be numero uno!
"I think the owls in the owlery heard you then," Vi teased Elena, head tilting back as she laughed because Elena was just so precious and not subtle at all. She loved it. Adored it to pieces. "Liam is a good smoocher too, actually! So I think when you do kiss him - and you totally will end up snogging him, I betcha a galleon or two - then you'll be in for a treat." She knew this from personal experience, after all. "Maybe you can smooch him at the party? Maybe - oh, oh, maybe I can dare you to! Then you two can end up all lovey dovey, whatdoyathink? Just don't leave me out or I'll get all pouty because I don't want to be a third wheel!"
"But your brothers are so much fun!" Vi exclaimed, grinning. Cute, too. She definitely had a crush on not just one, but both of them. Then again, who didn't Vi have a crush on? That was the question... "We're gonna have the best time ever!"

It was the first Quidditch game of the year and whilst Vi didn't really fully understand how the game worked still with all the funny bunny rules and stuff, she still dragged Liam and Clary along to come watch with her. After all, there were quite a few of her friends playing! Skylar on the Hufflepuff team, then Elena and Flora on the Slytherin team.
Clapping her hands together, Vi watched with excitement as the two teams gathered on the pitch, practically bouncing on the spot as she exclaimed to Liam and Clary, "This is going to be super duper exciting, don't you think? Who do you think will win? Merlin, I don't even care really! I just want them to have fun. 'Specially since it's Flors first game!"
With great big eyes, Vi watched as the players launched off into the air, pointing to keep track of where each of her friends were. "C'mon Skylar, c'mon Elena, c'mon Flora! You can do it!" she shouted, grinning. They probably couldn't hear her, but it was the support that counted, right? This was going to be excellent...
Or, at least, it was until suddenly a bludger came flying towards Flora. Immediately, Vi's breath caught in her throat, her hands flying out to grip one of Clary's hands, her other hand landing somewhere on Liam's arm and clutching at it. Before she could say something, warn her somehow, the bludger smashed into Flora's shoulder despite the girl's best efforts to dive. "Ohmygoodness," Vi breathed out as she heard her best friend's scream of pain. "She's gonna... she's gonna fall off... SOMEBODY HELP HER!"

Celeste was so wise, so sage, and Vi found herself nodding in agreement, before getting distracted yet again. Merlin, she really was pants at this whole 'paying attention' thing but then again, she knew that already didn't she? "Y'know, you're probably the only person in all of Hoggy Hogwarts that calls me Viola?" she mused out loud. She didn't mind, it was just something she found a bit out of the ordinary because she was just super duper accustomed to people calling her 'Vi.' It was short and sweet, kinda sorta like her she supposed, minus the short part. She was an average height.
"Well, Celeste, all of those things don't mean you automatically wanna give me a smooch. I thought you were just putting on a catwalk show for me, modelling some of your knickers," Vi said, a teasing tone creeping into her voice. But then Celeste was moving closer, reaching out with gentle fingers to wipe the paint off Vi's nose, causing Vi to look up at her with bright eyes. Merlin, the girl truly was stunning, and Vi's eyes swept over her face so intently, memorising every line and crevice and tiny mark, that she wasn't anticipating what happened next as the taller girl brought their mouths together in a kiss, one that made Vi positively weak in the knees.
Never one to let an opportunity slip through her fingers, Vi's lips moved against Celeste's enthusiastically, her hand snaking across Celeste's waist to draw her close. Even if this was the only kiss they ever shared, Vi wanted to make it well worth it, until finally she needed to part for air. "Wow..." she murmured, fingers flying up to gently touch her lips before breaking out into a smile that was as bright as the sun. "Way to pleasantly surprise a girl, Celeste!"
"Hufflepuffs really have such beautiful souls, don't that? I've never ever really met a super duper mean Hufflepuff," Vi said brightly, shrugging. She was sure that there were some out there, but none of which she'd encountered. "Perhaps I can send out a note tomorrow then? Maybe it can like... a top secret mission. Oh, oh! Maybe I can sign it from 'You-Know-Who' except, y'know, just... well, maybe not 'cause then they'd think it was Moldy Voldy and he'd risen from the grave, wouldn't they? Can't have that..." At this point, Vi was talking more to herself than Celeste, distracting herself as her mind kept going on random tangents.
Celeste's response, 'what if I was flirting,' instantly had Vi's ears perking up, eyes considering the girl in front of her with a click of her tongue. Well then... "I suppose if you were flirting with me, I'd have to feel your forehead to see if you were feeling well," she said with a little hum, a smile teasing at her lips. "Then I suppose, if you were all fine and dandy, I'd suggest that maybe I could lay a smoochie woochie on you and we could see if you like it or not." It definitely was an appealing idea and yet again, Vi reached up to push some blonde hair out of her eyes, this time smudging some of the blue paint from her arms onto the tip of her nose.
"That's very poetic and... sweet as well, I guess," Vi said, tapping her chin in thought. Well, saying she suited violets was sweet, not so much the rose part. "Celeste reminds me of celestial which is, like, the night sky which super duper makes sense because your eyes literally look out like they hold galaxies or... or something other super duper clever metaphor." One that she didn't quite have the wits to come up with at the moment.
Celeste's next question had Vi surprised for a second and she paused before finally saying, "I think so, because I kinda think that if you don't ask those things and you're unsure then you'd never know?" Besides, she wasn't known for lacking confidence in any regards. She had a lot of gusto when it came to asking people things. "If you said no, however, I wouldn't be super duper bothered or upset, y'know? It's a nice surprise if you were flirting, but if you weren't that's also cool. No skin off my nose!"

It wasn't curfew yet, she still had a good hour or two, and so naturally Viola wanted to use the time to her advantage. Prancing up to the Astronomy Tower with her guitar in hand and her book and muggle pen shoved in her pocket, Vi was excited the view up in the Astronomy Tower topped the view out of her dorm window and this time of night was absolutely inspirational.
As she climbed the steps, nearing the door into the room, Vi was surprised because music? Oh la la. Definitely not being played by a person by the sounds of it and as she took a step into the room finally, she was delighted to see that it was coming over a radio instead. Why? Because it meant the cutie patootie redheaded girl could dance instead, and beautifully at that!
Vi didn't quite realise that she was nearing closer and closer towards her until finally, she found herself being knocked into. "Oh, oopsie daisies!" Vi said, reaching out to grab the girl's hands to steady her, just in case she lost her balance. Then the girl started talking and immediately, Vi broke out into a big smile. "No, don't be a silly billy! I was being a bit of a jeepers creepers, and should have introduced myself, Lucy! Lucy. I like that name. Rhymes with goosey... I'm Viola! Kinda like a violet, but Viola's from those funky dunky Shakespeare books my mums are obsessed with."
