With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

As Professor O'Connor with his very serious, grumpy, wumpy face announced that for the rest of the year the Durmstrang students would be joining them, Viola could have wet her knickers in sheer excitement because, "Oh my Merlin. They are so fit!" she exclaimed, gesturing wildly to the new girl who sat beside her. Did she know said new girl? No, not yet but certainly planned to become acquainted with her. Not just because Vi's aspirations to expand her snogging list was a goal of hers this year, but because she was determined to befriend as many people as possible. "What's your name? Gosh, your hair is stunning. Has anyone ever told you that? It's, like... the most wonderous shade of gold I've ever seen in my life."
Turning her head at a familiar voice, Vi was quickly beaming as Skye danced into her vision because oh, Skye. How she adored the girl! What, with her cutie patootie accent and pretty sky blue eyes that inspired Viola to pick up a paintbrush every time she saw them. "Hiiiii, Skye," Vi sing-songed, reaching across the table to pat the girl's hand. "You're looking particularly splendid this evening. You must have had the most magnificent summer of your life, right? You'll have to tell me and our new friend -" Vi looked at the blonde-haired girl, shooting her a wink, "- all about it. Like, every single detail. I want to know everything, okay?"

Had Lars never seen a muggle movie where, like, the two people got totally into kissing and you could see their tongues on the screen? Vi considered him for a moment, head tilted to the side before she let out a joyful laugh. "Yeah, sometimes. Like, not their whole tongue because that's probably super slimey, but just a little bit," she told him brightly, shrugging. She'd only done it once or twice with tongue, but it was okie dokes in her book.
Vi heard the inhale of Lars breathing like he was nervous, and then the sound of him stepping into her space. A second later, dry... somewhat crumb-y lips were pressed up against hers and... that was all. They didn't move, they were just there. Slowly, Vi blinked open one eye, just as he asked her question. "Right, okay, it's more like..." Vi's hands moved up, cradling either side of his face as her lips started to move gently against his, slowly introducing him to the 'art' of kissing as she liked to call it.

Oh, thank goodness Lars totally picked up what she was putting down. It was a relief, seeing as she was, like, almost positive she was saying the phrase wrong. "I guess it's just kinda one of those... live in the moments thing, you feel?" Vi said, before resting her hand on her chin once more, elbow balancing on the table as she listened attentively to what he wanted. "A broom closet, let's do it! ... I am hungry, actually. Hang on, I'll take some toast to go."
With that thought in mind, Vi swiped a piece of buttered toast and shoved it between her teeth then turned to him with a cheeky wiggle of her brows. Then, after extending her hand to help him out of his seat, she practically dragged him out of the hall into a broom closet nearby. By the time Vi made sure the coast was crystal clear and she'd opened the door to the mostly dark room, only just light enough to see the outlines of one another, she'd finished her toast.
Standing in the cramped broom closet, Vi jumped straight to business. "So, how d'you wanna do this? Just, like... here. Look. I'll stand here, you start it, and will go from there. I won't give you tongue unless I think you're, like, super duper ready for the 'big leagues.'" Then closing her eyes, Vi tilted her head up in his direction with her soft lips slightly puckered, waiting for him to kick things off.
"I do. It's the light of my life, warms to the very core. I think about it at every moment, especially right before I go to bed at night so I have the most pleasant of dreams!" Vi announced, her voice loud and bright before she collapsed into giggles. One of housemates shot her a look that read 'Viola, you're being weird' but she ignored it. She was used to it after four years because... she didn't exactly fit in. She was an oddball in her house, and she stuck out like a sore thumb. It... it was something she tried to not focus on too often, actually, because it made her feel a bit lost and she didn't like that. She didn't like emotions of any negative kind, and she just... pushed past them normally. "I definitely have good taste. It's tip top, no doubt about it!"
"Mm hmm, yep! Go with the flow. Like a motion in the ocean - wait, is that how they say that phrase, or am I getting it horribly wrong?" If she was, it didn't seem to phase her too much and she just shrugged loosely. It didn't escape Vi's notice that Lars hadn't rebuffed the offer to kiss, and a slow smile spread across her lips. "I mean, we can always find a broom closet of some sorts if you're not feeling super duper adventurous, but I'm sure worse things have happened in the great hall." Like, she was pretty gosh darn certain the other day she sawan all out fight break out, so kissing wasn't that scandalous and they wouldn't get in that much trouble from one little innocent smooch.
It was surprising to hear that someone would say such dastardly things about Lars, and Vi's eyebrows knitted together for a second before she announced, "I think they must not know the difference between a sneer and a smoulder, those silly billies, and there's benefits to be had with fang-like teeth. I mean, hello, biting is totally a thing some people like." Was it something she liked? She didn't know, she wasn't intending to find out for a wee while, but she heard things. "Well, I think they're adorable."
"Hmm, I guess you kind of just go with the flow, you know?" She grinned upon the realisation she had just unintentionally rhymed because being a wordsmith was totally in her future. She was half-way there already, given all the songs she had scribbled down in notepads all over the Ravenclaw girls dorm. "I don't know the history of kissing, I just know I like it. I mean, I can show you if you really want? I'm not going to judge if it's a little slobbery to start with," she said, quite sincerely at that as she reached down to give his knee a comforting pat. He had all these questions, but Vi had never been great at the theory side of things - no, the practical side was her strength.

"Has anyone ever told you that you look absolutely princely when you smile? Like, my mam? She'd totally say you look like one of those muggle men from one of those novels she likes to read," Vi said with a very sure nod of her head. She could picture it now - Lars sitting at her dinner table after being invited for a good meal, her mam going into one of her vivid descriptions of some male character from one of the classic novels that sat on their bookshelf, and her mum telling her to 'stop embarrassing the poor boy, Cordelia.' The image of it happening was enough to make her giggle.
All of a sudden, in the blink of an eye, Lars' entire demeanour changed from smiley to completely serious. Like, not even in a joking way like she sometimes pretended to do. "Hmmm, kissing is just nice. It makes me feel all tingly and butterfly~y and like someone actually thinks I'm cute enough to kiss back," she said, hands excitedly moving all about as she tried to explain just why she liked it so much. "Also, everyone kisses differently, and that's fun too... unless, like, you get a super slobbery kiss and then that's not so fun but you have the opportunity to teach them how to kiss properly."

Vi couldn't help it. She was a teenage girl, and the sight of somebody's abs was enough to make her heart and soul and entire body light up with delighted joy. "I'll touch them another day. I'll think about you and your lovely little abs at every waking moment," she declared with a very serious nod, before breaking into a grin a split second later. She really was absolute pants at this whole acting thing.
After a few minutes of smooching, Felix was drawing back, complimenting her "it's strawberry, Felix" chapstick. Beaming up at him, Vi planted one big kiss on his lip before announcing, "We should go and eat something, hey? Let's do this again sometime, you handsome thing you." With that, Vi moved to his side, looped her arm through his and proceeded to manhandle him out of the classroom because apparently kissing made her starving.

Vi definitely stored away the fact that she could buy Felix a salmon coloured shirt for Christmas. She totally intended to make good on that, plus she didn't have to brainstorm some gift for him later on. It was a win/win.
"Are you saying my sheer presence isn't enough to make you blush?" Vi teased, bottom lip stuck out in a playful pout. It didn't last long, however, as she soon distracted by the challenge of trying to make him blush. "Youuu are the cutestest patootiest fourth year Gryffindor boy named Felix and I bet you have abs to die for. I mean, seriously. I'm not gonna ask you to take your shirt off because, uh, we're in a classroom and that would be seriously whacky if you did that but I'm still, like, 1000000% certain I'm right." Maybe if they went out swimming in the summer holidays, she'd get to confirm her sneaky lil suspicion
Felix was being a total gentleman, accio'ing a jacket in case she actually did faint, and Vi beamed up at him. Then his fingers were stroking her hair, and her breath staggered a little because yes, she'd totally said he could kiss her but he wasn't moving. "I'm not going to faint, you silly thing," she said, before deciding he wasn't the only one with bravery in the room. Balancing on her tippy toes, Vi brushed her lips against his in a soft kiss.

When Vi felt her good friend's lips moving back against her own, and the gentle touch of Kitty's hands curling around her waist, she smiled into the kiss. This was wonderful, and by gosh, wasn't it just great to smooch friends?
After letting the kiss go on a little longer, Vi pulled back for breath with a small albeit breathless giggle as a certain sight caught her attention. "You now have my berry orchid shade of pretty pink lipstick all over your mouth. It suits you," she joked, before giving Kitty a cheeky wink. "You wanna go hang out near the lake, maybe smooch a little more or just gossip?"

The arrival of Ezra only had Vi brightening even more and instantly, she was reaching over to ruffle her other brother's hair before scooting forward on the stool to plant a kiss on the side of his cheek too. By golly, she just adored her family - she always had, she always would, and there was no changing her mind... even if they killed someone, although Vi would be awfully disappointed if they did. "Ezzy, Ezzy, Ezra!" she sung out, similar the tone she had used to say Edmund's nickname. "Hmmm, that's a fab question. Edmund, you fantastic pre-planner you, what's cooking? Something special? I don't believe you just told them to make something."
"Ez, did you know that Ed was tugging his itty bitty sleeves before? It's not called just adjusting when you do it over and over. I think he's got a case of the ittery jitteries," she declared brightly, nudging Ezra's knee with her own as she teased Edmund good-naturedly. But then Ezra was saying how he had good grades unlike Ezra, and Vi's eyes rolled playfully. She didn't care too much about grades, given she was doing fairly... poor herself in class. "You know, when we die, grades won't matter. How we loved and lived and treated others will be what we're remembered for."
Shrugging at Edmund's question, Vi said chirpily, "I'm the bees knees, little brother. How are you? Ez, you need to answer that question too."

Vi had definitely had an eventful day so far. She'd woken up to the absolutely dazzling beams of sunlight streaming through the dorm windows, and decided it was the perfect time to paint. She'd been so in the zone that she'd missed breakfast, and now as she flounced into the Great Hall with her denim overalls on, she was starving. As her belly let out a ravenous growl, Vi was truly worried that it would somehow manage to eat itself.
Cerulean blue eyes skimming the hall, Vi wondered who on earth she should sit with today (so many options!) when a familiar voice called her name. Glancing around for the person it belonged to, Vi lit up when she saw it was Lars. Her favouritest of all the male fifth year Gryffindor transfers. "Lars, whenever I hear you calling my name in that soothing dulcet tone of yours, my heart skips a beat!" she sung out dramatically, heading over and moving into the seat beside him.
"Here I was, thinking my 'kiss list' was super duper top secret business," Vi said jokingly, before letting out a laugh. It wasn't secret at all - in fact, she was quite certain most of the year knew about it at this point. "Why, are you interested in becoming apart of it?" Her eyes shone as she gazed up at Lars, resting an elbow on the table and cupping her head in her palm. "I'd be honoured to bestow a smoochie woochie on your lovely little lips."

The great, big, sunny grin that passed Kitty's lips was enough to have Vi's heart soaring because she loved seeing her friends happy. Of course, the soaring in her heart only grew moments later as she was embraced in a great big hug which she returned just as eagerly. "I like your shampoo," Vi declared, voice muffled by hair as she buried her face into Kitty's shoulder for a moment.
Then drawing back, she saw the wink. Yes, definitely a sign for smooching.,, Vi was certain of it. Gently cupping the side of Kitty's face and Merlin, her skin was smooth, Vi smiled gently at her friend before leaning in and pressing her lips against her soft ones.

Vi lit up like a Christmas tree as Kitty returned the compliment, reaching over to flick some strands of the other girl's blonde hair. "Golly gumdrops, you're smooth," she declared with an air of finality, nodding.
As Kitty leaned back against the wall, she looked the very picture of confidence, something that was absolutely endearing to see in a castle full of typically insecure teenagers. Vi loved it, and she took a step towards Kitty and into her personal space as the blonde threw back 'I guess that depends on what you're looking for' at her. "I thinkkkk what I'm looking for is right in front of my face," she sing-songed, before taking yet another step forward. If she was wrong, this was going to be super duper awkward... This time as Vi reached for Kitty's hair, she curled the locks behind her ears, waiting to see if Kitty was going to give her the looktm before she made her move.

"Mm, no, I know my colours and salmon's a pinkish-orange. I still think you'd suit it," Vi said with a small hum and a nod. This, she was sure of. Vi very admittedly didn't know many things - she was a terrible Ravenclaw, however she did know colours very well and she knew pink would be very complimentary to Felix's skin tone. Moving towards him and standing on her tippy toes, Vi's thumb lightly brushed over Felix's cheek as she teased, "Are you going to blush for me again? You should. Prove my point that pink totally suits you."
"You said you don't wear it often - that's why you never see me faint," Vi said, her eyes gleaming with amusement as she giggled. "The second I see you wear a leather jacket, I promise I'll faint on cue. You've just got to catch me before I boink my head. Deal?" To seal the deal, Vi struck out her palm to Felix with a wiggle of her brows as if to say, you need to shake it to make it happen, buddy.
The corners of Vi's lips twitched upwards as Felix started to sing his little song, and she even gave a little clap-along to go with it to help him keep in tune. However, it was over far too soon... but that turned out to be alright because then he was speaking about far more interesting things, like who he'd want to smooch. Namely, her. Vi blinked up at him for a moment, before breaking out in a smile as bright as the sun and saying with confidence, "You should. Kiss me, that is."

When Vi had received the itty bitty note with a date, time and signature scribbled on it, she had been elated because it had been far too long since she saw her two favourite little twin brothers. But unfortunately... that's just how the cookie crumbled when Vi was two years older than them and they were in separate classes. Maybe next year when she in fifth year and they were in third... they'd get to see each other more often and Vi would totally get to embarrass them in class by smooching the heck out of their cheeks when she walked into the room.
As the portrait leading into the kitchens swung open, Vi leaped into the room with her fingers spread, doing her very own version of spirit fingers. "Eddie, Eddie, Edmund!" she sung out, as she spied her brother sitting on a stool. "Stop nervously tugging your sleeves - and yes, I know that's what you're doing because I have eyes - you'll rip them, you silly thing." With that, Vi bounded over to her brother, planting a bright red kiss on his cheek before flopping onto the stool beside him. "How's things?"
