With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Flying high above the pitch, Skylar searched and searched for a glint of gold to appear. The Snitch would look even smaller from up here, but it was so shiny that if the light hit it just right, he would know exactly where it was. He hovered in the air, flying back and forth a little in case a Bludger decided to make him its target if he stayed still. The Chasers were still fighting it out near the hoops below, and thankfully, he saw that both Bludgers were still hanging around down there close enough to the Beaters' bats. He really had to give Sally credit--she had done so well in her first ever game! But now it was on him to win it for Hufflepuff.
And then he saw it. Just a little flutter of gold near the bottom of one of the hoops, but he knew what that meant.
Skylar began to descend slowly, not wanting Elena to catch on that he'd seen anything. Slytherin was already ahead, but he could turn the game around if he could just keep the other Seeker from getting there first. He kept his eyes trained on the tiny flash of gold that was still hovering around the end of the pitch. If he lost it now, there was no telling when he would see it again.
It was when he could tell he was a little bit closer to it than Elena that he shot off across the pitch, dipping below the Slytherin Chaser, who was trying to throw the Quaffle at their hoops yet again. Whether Elena was following him or not, Skylar didn't know or notice--he had one goal only, to reach the golden ball before it flew away. He flew faster and faster, reaching out his hand...
The Snitch flew away, just out of his reach, and zoomed back toward the center of the pitch. Skylar cursed under his breath, making a tight turn around and heading toward it once more. He weaved through the other players, gritting his teeth as he pushed his broom to its highest speed. Just a little faster, just a few more feet...
Time seemed to slow down as his hand closed around the Snitch, his fingers gripping hard to keep the tiny ball in his grasp, and he had flown nearly to the other end of the pitch before he realized that he needed to stop.
He had caught it.
The game was over.
They'd won!
Skylar circled back to the middle of the pitch, a wide grin on his face and the Snitch clutched triumphantly in his raised arm. It was the happiest he'd been this entire year, the first time in his fourth year that he felt like he couldn't stop smiling. "We did it!" he cried out to his teammates, flying toward them. It was the perfect way to start off the Quidditch season.
A rogue bludger collided with the Slytherin beater, smashing into the dude's face and oh shit, suddenly there was a stream of blood pouring everywhere. It was like a horror book come to life because when the beater opened his mouth to spit, teeth came out. Teeth, like, as in from his gums. Sally hoped that if they Hufflepuff won, the team wouldn't find bloody teeth under their pillows.
After soaring high through the air, Sally's bludger slammed straight into the stomach of the Slytherin keeper and she let out a low whistle because, "Brutal!" He looked like he was in a world of pain, and Sally was seriously impressed by the fact that he'd managed to actually stay on his broom since he was breathing as hard as her Dad when she made him run with her. Sucked for him!
When the sound of another bludger was hit, Sally grinned when she saw it was her co-beater, Darcy. She'd spent all of last year cheering on from the stands so playing alongside her was awesome especially given the girl didn't hog the bludgers, giving Sally her time to shine. Plus, the older girl had just aimed a bludger straight at that douchecanoe Slytherin chaser and Sally hoped to Merlin's saggy left eyelid that it knocked the git out.
Sally's eager eyes kept swept the rest of the field, searching for another bludger to hit when suddenly, there was the sound of cheering and the sight of Skylar met her eyes. Without paying much attention, Sally threw her beater's bat to the ground in favour of pumping both fists in the air as screamed in excitement, "FUC - I MEAN, HELL YEAH, SKYLAR!" Zipping over to meet her teammate, Sally held out her fist for him to bump first before offering it to the rest of the team. "Wicked game! We won! Can you believe it? Nearly took out half the team too!"
Speaking of which, Sally turned around on her broom before pinning her gaze on the prat-face chaser. She definitely wasn't shy as she blatantly rubbed the fact that, "Guess your goals mean jack now, princess! Hope you're not a sore loser!" right in his damn face 'cause he deserved it.
Cooper was pissed when he saw that he missed the goal, and he shouted, "Dammit." he said clenching his fits. Before he turned to see a bludger come his way, the Slytherin shook his head and he said. "You gotta be kidding me." he said as he dodged the bludger. There was no lie the Hufflepuff beaters had it out for him, but he thought he'd give a snarky comment. "Nice try, Ross." he shouted back. Giving her a death glare, but not long after those words came out of his mouth.
The crowd burst into a cheer and he turned to see that the goddamn Hufflepuff seeker managed to get the ball and the Slytherin was beyond pissed. "Seriously! They took half our team out." he shouted. Before he decided to calm down and he shout a glare at their seeker and he shouted, "You should have paid attention, Coldwater!" he sneered at Elena.
And he soon heard the words of the Hufflepuff beater that caused him to clench his fists. Turning around he shot her a glare, "You know something! Maybe if you didn't take half our freaking team out, this wouldn't happen, princess." he said giving her a glare. Then saying one last shout, "This isn't over, sweetheart." he said before he descended back to the ground.
His house team sucked, then again she didn't help taking out the whole team. But he wouldn't let her live it down, and hoped they'd win one time.
"How can you be such blind nitwits! You need to open your eyes to play this bloody game! Can't see bludgers or the snitch! How could you even see the quaffle! Useless pile of wankers! Slytherin's honour depended on you and you dragged the name through the maggot infested mud!" Oscar shouted as hard as he could.
Oscar was positively fuming when he saw the good-for-nothing Hufflepuff seeker catch the snitch. How could they have lost against Hufflepuff?!"Out of the way!" he snapped at the person next to him, trying to leave the stands as quickly as possible. A team of such losers didn't deserve any more support than this.
There was no question whether Leo would watch the first quidditch match of the year or not. Of course he would. And it was his sister playing no less. He was almost as excited as if he'd played himself, but he wondered if Sally was nervous at all. If was her first game at Hogwarts after all. The games in their back yard were different. But he had all the faith in his little sister.
It was hard to stay on his seat during a game as bloody as this one, especially when Slytherin scored. However, he couldn't keep himself from waving the Hufflepuff scarf he'd borrowed from his sister frantically whenever she hit a bludger towards a Slytherin. There was definitely no sign of nerves on her face and Leo was glad and proud.
And then Hufflepuff had caught the snitch and Leo was standing and cheering loudly with the rest of the Hufflepuffs. Running onto the pitch he tried to discern where his sister would land. A hug was in order here. "That was incredible, Sally! The Slytherins didn't know what was coming. Seriously, bloody amazing!" he shouted over all the noise once he saw her.
"Oi. The snitch is there. Get in, you bloody loser." Dio yelled at their seeker, still slurring his words due to the missing front teeth. However before he could see the girl move, a mob of ginger had caught the golden ball. "You've got to be kidding me. Oi, what sad excuse for a game is this? We cannot lose to the gumball house!" Dio was livid. He couldn't believe these guys. Obviously he was most dissappointed in himself but he'd never admit that.
The pure adrenaline was the only thing that kept him up in the air. His face was red from the blood and anger. "What the hell? Where was our seeker? Bloody useless. This entire game is bullshit. Unbalanced," he yelled at his teammates as he flew towards them. "I can't believe how much we look like blasted idiots. What a sad excuse for a-" This was how far in injured head took him. His entire sense of balance was messed up. Dio threw up a mixture of vomit and blood before his eyes rolled back and the Slytherin beater fell down towards the ground. Everything went dark. The face of her biggest brother appeared suddenly, exclaiming enthusiastically that it was 'incredible' and 'bloody amazing!' and pride welled in the little Hufflepuffs chest because she'd wanted to make him proud and she had. Breaking into a run, Sally launched herself at Leo, arms wrapped around his neck in excitement and tugging him down. "We kicked their arses, Leo!" she said, well, more like yelled in his ear. "Look at you rockin' the yellow! You look cool as hell!"
Then the sound of annoying voice filled her ear once more, that bloody Slytherin chaser and he was... yelling at her? For... righto... Immediately, Sally let out an incredulous laugh because, "Yeah, that's 'cause I'm a beater, dude. It's literally my job to hit bludgers at your team, surprise surprise. Seriously, have you ever played Quidditch?"
What an idiot. She wanted, desperately, to grab that bat on the ground and lob it straight at his giant douchehead. But she'd been suspended or kicked off the team and that would suck more than listening to him vomit stupid, sexist garbage.

"SKYLAR!!! YES!! YOU BLOODY LEGEND!!!" Gabriel cheered, pumping his fist in the air even as he guided the broom down to the ground to join his team mates. "Suck on that, Narro," Gabriel taunted cruelly with a wide grin on his face the moment his feet were down on the field. He made it over to Sally and was about to congratulate her on an amazing game when her brother came and so Gabe took a step back and grinned. He had a little sister himself in Gemini, who he'd have claimed first rights to celebrate with too if she was such a star in the game as well!
Instead he swiftly moved to the other star of the game - Skylar. "You did good, kid," Gabriel said as he came up to the red-head and moving to put his arm over the young seeker's shoulder. "Just listen to how sad you made those Slytherins - bitchin' and moanin' because they got beat by a bunch of Puffs!" Gabriel was revelling in their hard work and he was making sure that he was loud enough for as many of the opposite team to hear as possible.
"Good game Raouf! I think you kinda forgot you're meant to dodge the bludgers rather than catch them huh?" Gabe ribbed playfully as he went to offer the Keeper a handshake of good sportsmanship. "Better luck next time."
