With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

NADEZHDA KAREVA
seventeen. seventh year. slytherin.
about Born in Russia, the daughter of Ivan Karev, a Russian Ministry of Magic official, and a veela mother, Nadya’s earliest memories are of Moscow. Memories of her mother don’t exist—she disappeared when Nadya was too young to remember, presumed dead by Ivan. She and her sisters were still very young when they moved to London, though Ivan never told them why (in truth, it was because of the judgements on him after having three children with a veela.) Of course, they didn’t escape this completely in the UK, and there are other issues to contend with—werewolves, for one. Nadya, who likes forests more than the stifling dungeon of her Slytherin dormitory, who thinks she would feel more at home with magical creatures than with humans, feels that she must have a bond with werewolves because of it.
friends Just because she’s got a glare that could freeze the Sahara doesn’t mean Nadya doesn’t want friends. She prefers people with a more subdued personality, since she too mostly comes out of her shell when alone. The easiest point of connection might be an interest in Herbology, spending time out on the grounds or in the Forbidden Forest, talking kindly about magical creatures (whether being or beast), or an interest in animals. You’ll probably find her outside whenever she has the chance, rain or shine, or in Hogsmeade on weekends.
enemies Nadya has taken a clear side in the contention over werewolves, and does not look kindly on those who want to see them gone from the world. It has to do with her own defensiveness over being a half-veela, as well as being a half-blood on her human side. She is also distrustful of those who seem too friendly at first. Having been taught not to smile at strangers, nor to reveal anything that might get her hurt, she doesn’t understand how people can genuinely be so bright and kind without even knowing her.
romance Being half-veela, Nadya might be considered attractive to more than a few people. As for herself, she tends to be a fierce and devoted lover for a short period of time, but doubtful of the idea of committing herself to one person forever. She's polyamorous, but currently single, but mostly interested in other magical beings only. The best way to impress her would be to take her out stargazing, or to give her living flowers (never cut ones!)
about The youngest Reid sibling is still reeling from the recent loss of his parents, having difficulties in school because he’s far too preoccupied with other problems. Like how to sleep without nightmares, or how to stop being afraid of his brother. It hasn't been a great time for him lately, and he's trying everything to handle it, though nothing seems to be working well enough. It's a rough way to begin your fourth year.
friends Skylar loves friends and I’m sure he’s made plenty of them in his year, so if you have a fellow fourth-year, let’s get them together! Though he’s been pretty shaken up this past summer though, so he might not be as friendly as usual, he would still rather hang out with friends than deal with things alone. He’s also likely to show up to older students’ parties if he can figure out a way to get invited.
enemies While he’s generally pretty friendly, there are definitely plenty of people Skylar is wary of nowadays. For one, in Skylar’s opinion, the only valid werewolf is his brother, and even then he feels like something important has changed with him. He’s also sensitive to pretty much anything that might bring up his parents and is certainly willing to punch someone over that, even though that’s not going to help his life go back to normal at all.
romance Skylar’s never dated anyone before, but has definitely been crushing on boys, so that’s another layer of social life for him to deal with now. A relationship could be great for him right now, giving him someone to lean on, but it could also be too much for him to handle—all depends on who you want to throw at him! Preferably someone in fourth or fifth year.
about The problem with growing up in a family that everyone knows about already is that everyone already has an idea of who you are. And whether good or bad, Roxanne is tired of hearing about it. Yes, she prefers to watch Quidditch rather than play it. No, she doesn't know how to recreate that one piece of Portable Swamp her father left here all those years ago. But if you want to talk something she's actually interested in--say, Divination--you just might find the most loyal friend in Roxanne Weasley.
friends Roxanne is a curious soul who loves books and mysteries. The best way to connect with her would be to listen to her talk about these things without dismissing her as a weirdo! She also really wanted to be in Ravenclaw (she really is a Gryffindor though, which should come out over time!), so I could see her trying to make friends with those from that House (or have tried to make friends with them in the past). Also ghosts. She thinks ghosts are cool.
enemies What irritates her most of all is people expecting her to be all outgoing and charming and funny. Because she's just... not, and not for lack of trying! Turns out you can't inherit your entire personality. For this reason she tends to avoid people who make these sorts of comments. She wants to be known for her first name, not her last.
romance Being only fourteen, she hasn't had much of a chance to explore romance, so she doesn't quite know yet exactly what she wants. There's also the problem that a big chunk of the fourth year are her cousins, so she's not about to admit her crushes because having to endure the entire family knowing about them sounds awful. I think someone equally independent would be perfect for her as she starts to get older and think about relationships!
about The Linwoods are a magical family of sheep farmers, originally from Scotland, who have moved to more and more remote islands over the centuries to keep their magical farming techniques all to themselves--they now live in the Falklands, off the coast of South America. The last couple generations have caused problems for the family: conflicts between country and city people, between Gryffindors and Slytherins, between siblings. Isobel is the oldest of three sisters, so she's currently supposed to inherit the farm, though her dream is a little different: become the leading fashion designer in the wizarding community. As such, she loves art and crafts, and can often be found with sketchbook in hand.
friends Isobel likes classy friends, and she'll often go to great lengths to make them like her, even going so far as to make up stories from her past so that she doesn't sound like such a--farm girl. This does make it a bit hard for her to make close friends, but I'm sure she's found plenty of friends over the years. She's also an artist, so that would be the other group she'd hang out with! She's always carrying her sketchbook around.
enemies She is extremely sensitive about her reputation, and especially wouldn't like people associating her with her more wild relatives. If someone started spreading rumors about her, she'd be very uncomfortable and probably start some of her own right back. The girl is almost as passive-aggressive as Mia-Rose (who you'll all meet soon, I promise!)
romance In the end, she'll be with WOLFGANG KALLENBACH , so I'd only be looking for flings for her. But as you can see from that particular romance, she's got a thing for two types of guys: those in nice suits and those with nice accents. And if you have both, well--let's just say she'll be happy to drag you around by the tie into the nearest broom closet.
about The middle of the three Linwood sisters, Mia-Rose has always felt a sense of middle-child syndrome. Her older sister is sophisticated and driven, her younger sister is outgoing and friendly, she is... awkward and likes animals better than people. But this is turning into a desire to forge her own path and become an adventurer, to make exciting discoveries, encounter as many magical beasts as possible, and be admired for it. And that intense ambition is why she belongs in Slytherin, despite the expectation that she would become a Gryffindor.
friends It always seems hard for Mia-Rose to make friends. She really wants to make more friends, but she's rather introverted and is not the type to enjoy parties or even class projects. The kind of person she'd like best is someone who shares her interests and is comfortable with being active. She also ends up studying a lot because she really wants to get good grades, so she can also be encountered in the library.
enemies Snarky comments come far easier to her than nice ones. She is very good at observing people, gathering gossip, and judging them in order to feel better about herself. It could be very easy for her to slip up and say something judgemental in front of someone who wouldn't appreciate it! Or, considering her sort of rough nature, she might clash with those in her House who are a little bit more aristocratic.
romance She does not do romance. She thinks it's weird and doesn't get it and actually enjoys making fun of people who are dating. Really, she's just asexual and doesn't really realize it yet, plus she has a strong belief in always being independent and is really worried that she couldn't be if she got into a relationship. So for now, it's a no-go here.
about Emil is a Muggleborn boy whose parents were reluctant to send him to Hogwarts, and he's spent his time here trying to prove that the magical world is alright after all. The fact that a werewolf attack happened didn't help in the slightest, but his becoming a prefect and then Head Boy has made him more confident in his place among wizards. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, Quidditch, and hanging out in the library.
friends Over the years, I'm sure he's made a few friends! At the moment of writing this he doesn't have any roommates, but maybe there's someone among the rest of the seventh-years that he's made friends with. Or people in the years above or below, or other prefects, since they would have to have meetings and stuff! Emil's a pretty chill guy who would rather practice magic than go to parties, so someone similarly inclined might be a good friend for him.
enemies While Emil doesn't go out of his way to make enemies, the guy has the power of detention. Of course he would have made some enemies! Plus, being Muggleborn, I'm sure there's a few people out there who treat him badly for it. He doesn't like to cause trouble, but I think if you provoked him enough you could actually get him angry. Might be fun to play out!
romance Totally open here for a lot of different possibilities. I have a feeling that Emil might be a bit awkward about relationships, because he grew up pretty religious and got a whole bunch of messages about commitment from that, but he is only 17! He's also bi, although I'm not sure if he really realizes it yet. Might be interesting to give him a thread with someone who's a lot freer about their sexuality.
about Katrin was born thinking she was a spoiled only child of a pureblood family, only to lose her first home several years ago when it was discovered that she was the result of cheating. Ever since then, she's been fiercely determined to prove her worth to the world. If you thought the average Slytherin was ambitious, they've got nothing on this girl.
friends Of course, Katrin needs a few friends. She prefers Slytherins to the other houses, and values intelligence and a certain level of social status. One thing I would really like for her is a mother or older sister figure. Since her stepfather currently bans her from speaking to her mother, she's really trying to attach herself to ARIELLA TYRELL to have a role model. Since we are still figuring out how that will turn out, I'd really love to have either a professor or an older student kind of figure out what's going on with Kate and help her out! Let me know if you have a good character for that kind of long-term plot.
enemies Don't let the big blue eyes fool you. This girl has got to have some enemies. She tends to lash out and say cruel things--she's not aware enough to realize that she's just putting people down out of her own insecurities. I could see her really being the "mean girl" of her class, at least at the moment.
romance At this moment, Katrin's both way too young and way too cynical about love to have any sort of relationship, but I assume she's probably getting her first crushes--and feeling terrible about it because feelings are for the weak! So, if you've got a boy around her age that she might be interested in, a crush plot would be really fun.
about The youngest of the three Kareva sisters, Lyuba was born in Russia as well. However, six weeks after she was born was when her veela mother disappeared, and she was barely two years old when the family moved to Britain. As a result, she's often felt more British than the rest of her family. She's not a natural at academics--she often struggles with classes, and she didn't even show signs of magic before she was ten--but she is a natural at being cute and charming!
friends I'm sure Lyuba has made many friends over her years at school! She's pretty outgoing and also likes to attend parties, so she meets plenty of people. I know there are a whole bunch of fifth-year Gryffindors on the site, so I bet she's made friends if you have one of those I'd love to find her a solid friend group!
enemies It always angers Lyuba when people are being mean for no reason, and she likes to stand up against bullies. On a less positive note, she may irritate the quieter sort of people as she can be rather loud. She also tends to dislike people who have very good grades as she feels bad about her struggles, though that's more avoidance than being mean.
romance The girl has the veela charm and the flirtiness to go with it, so she's probably had a few smooches, and now that she's sixteen, is probably happy to have more than smooches too! Because Lyuba will undergo a significant character change eventually, I am not particularly looking for a permanent relationship for her right now, but short-term relationships would be lovely!
Hi! So I don't have any seventh years to offer for plots, but I do have a few sixth years who would share classes with Nadezhda!
GRACE LONGBOTTOM && NADEZHDA KAREVA So, Grace is your stereotypical 'puff and I think she and Nadezhda would get along super well actually! She may have been intimidated by her for the few years at school because Nadezhda is gorg and Grace is a lil intimidated by older, pretty, intelligent women whoops. But around 3rd to 4th year, perhaps they could have been paired together in DADA or some other class and discovered that they have quite a few interests? Grace is a werewolf supporter too and loves magical creatures and Herbology. If you're interested, I'd love them to be friends.
VINDA SELWYN && NADEZHDA KAREVA They may share the same house, but Vinda would hate her. Absolutely. She thinks werewolves are a disgusting abomination and she would look down upon Nadezhda for her blood status and the fact she's half veela. Sooo... with that said, enemies?
I'm up for both friends and enemies! I could definitely see Grace and Nadezhda bonding over plants and creatures and stuff, maybe discovering a new friendship in their last couple years of school? They'll probably also see each other in classes once I sign up for those! As for Vinda and Nadya, I wonder if we can find a good situation for them to fight. Feel free to chat with me on Discord about this if you see me around!
She's a Slytherin and they share classes together, also a prefect. She's quite friendly so I think they'd get along. Becca is often looked down on for being muggleborn so she'd hate to see her bullied for being half veela. Friends?
Melinda is in the same year as her. She also happens to be a vampire but has never told anyone about it, because that might also cause people to look down on her. She's also friendly so I think they'd probably get along.

KASIA, your little snake sounds interesting. Let me see what I can do for her.
I have DIO GREYBACK who is very pro-werewolf. It is obvious when his old man is one of the most famous ones ever. And although Dio only met him once, the kid is obsessed by the man and his pack. Perhaps he doesnt fully agree with Fenrir's actions but he believes werewolves should be liberated. He won't expect finding someone who isn't against werewolves among his students. Atm he is spitting at the school and all it stands for. Nade will surprise him. He might even get a thing for her because of veela shit and he is just a weak teenage boy. XD
I also have TOBIAS TURNER who is my flamobyant pansexual (might also be a good candidate for a poly thing if you're into that). Tobias is a wildcard who stopped caring about everything once school kicked him out and his life became hell. He now flirts with people and sleeps with them for food because a man has gotta eat and he enjoys attention that isn't him getting beaten up by aurors. He'll definitely flirt with Nade if he is in town.
For DIO GREYBACK and NADEZHDA KAREVA, I think we could have them meet while skipping out on class or something? Nadya cares about only some of her classes and would rather not attend some of the more boring ones! They're both in the same house so they have to meet sometime.
And for TOBIAS TURNER and NADEZHDA KAREVA, there seems to be a ton of potential here. I think based on age he would have been in Nadya's year when he did attend Hogwarts, if I'm right, they would definitely know each other and she'd probably feel terrible for him! Also love the idea for some romance between them. She may not have a ton of resources to give him since she's still in school, but she's a great source of attention and veela charm
kasia's moon child // 5'10" // casually dating tobias turner // born in russia // lives in london // baby karev-turner due in march
David is one of the many Jones' children. He's a writer, and also hates werewolves. But yes if Skylar needs someone to take anger out on, David's your man.
different houses. Same year. Frankie had recently lost her brother (during the school year) is also adopted into a different family due to her parents being murdered two years ago. She can use a friend.
Rose is a fashionista but a proud ginger and she would definitely try to be Skylar's friend. She has a little brother she loves and she'd actually be nice to him, she is only one year younger but in 2nd year of Hogwarts!
KASIA, hey hey, it's me again! So for SKYLAR REID I have a couple of ideas to throw at you!
SKYLAR REID && VIOLA ROSALINE Sooo it's very possible that the two of them are friends? Vi's a bit friendly and naturally all touchy feely and would probably come sit on Skylar's lap pretty often if he's cool with that? She'd think he's the bees knees and would definitely adore him.
SKYLAR REID && ALEXANDER GREENAWAY Just really quietly... Alex is a closeted gay fourth year who's generally very closed off and quiet as a result of his rough childhood, growing up in orphanages by his lonesome and stuff. I can see him this Skylar is cute for sure, though he'd be pretty awkward about even talking to him because that's kinda Alex's default. He's just an awkward turtle. He doesn't remember many people's names, but I think he'd remember Skylar's.
If you'd like a thread, lemme know! Also, please feel free to add me on discord if you'd like to discuss any of these further.
These are two totally different characters for Skylar and I love them both! I was thinking of popping Skylar into the party thread that's going on with a bunch of the other fourth years, so we can have him and Viola interact there as well as making a thread for them sometime!
I think that Alex is someone Skylar might not have been friends with before now, but now that he's having a really rough time of his own then he might find some connection with him. Like someone he can actually let down his guard around because they've both been through terrible things. Could also be a cute romance someday if Alex ever comes out of the closet! So I definitely want to thread these two somehow. I can add a starter for them to my list if you want!
Wonderful! Ahh, I'm so excited! The party thread sounds wonderful, definitely pop him in if you want to. The more merrier for sure! Vi will definitely come and love on him, and Alex is at the party too being an awkward turtle.
Alex doesn't have many friends tbh, and so I think mutual bonding over rough times could be really interesting imo. Alex's struggling in school rn (he knows the stuff, just doesn't participate in classes), and I think I read that Skylar is too. Perhaps my DADA Professor JACK O'CONNOR could intervene and pair the two of them as study buddies? Being deputy headmaster, he'd know what's going on in both their lives I believe, so maybe it could be his way of trying to help? Just an idea, and I'd be keen for a thread!
Hey, so I've got a few lil things to throw at yours babes!
MATHEUS DELGADO -- So whilst I'm not sure these two would be BFFs forever since Matheus enjoys partying and being a little bit wild, I would say that he has definitely tried to flirt with Emil over the last few years and as a whole, he would like the guy being chill and stuff. Perhaps they could have a thread? Matheus is very 'free' about his sexuality, so it could prove interesting.
GRACE LONGBOTTOM -- So, I think these two would get along quite well. Being Head Boy and all, Grace would have a fair bit of respect for Emil, perhaps be a little intimidated at how talented he is at magic too. I imagine these two would go for prefect rounds every now and then too which could make for an interesting thread?
AGNES CLEARWATER -- She and Mia-Rose are in the same year, and I think the fact that Aggy can serve snarky comments up just like Mia-Rose can is something they have in common. Aggy's not the active type, but she is the type to sit and exchange friendly banter during class, in the halls, etc. She's very studious too and is often found in the library much like Mia-Rose. As long as she's not a pureblood arsehole (Aggy's worst enemy), I think these two could have a good acquaintance-ship maybe? Perhaps budding into a friendship depending on their chemistry.
up for another thread with Melinda and @nadezhzda? I kind of forgot about the other one, and things have kind of changed, since Professor O'Connor had a class about vampires. I think Nadya would be aware of that now? She'd definitely be up for having her as a friend.
I can't remember if I plotted @melinda and EMIL ZALEWSKI either. They're in the same year and I'm also up for them being friends. @rebecca also shares classes with him.
@rebecca and ISOBEL LINWOOD are roommates. I don't think we've threaded them. She dislikes their other roommate VINDA SELWYN because of her purist leanings. Becca and Isobel friends?
Also if Nadya likes creatures, maybe she'd be interested in chatting with @charlotte ? She's a ghost (so she's a spirit than a creature?) who was killed in 2016 when the werewolves attacked. Lottie would be glad for any sort of company after everyone gets back from winter break.
