With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was after dinner when Cassidy had made her way back to the girl's dorm. A feeling in her body made her just want to cry all night which wasn't rare since she did that a lot. Cassidy wasn't very open about her feelings, she often kept them to herself and the people closest to her knew the most about her. She never truly shared why she wakes up screaming every now and then and neither did she feel like explaining it to her other roommates. Cassidy was like a closed book, tied together with a chain and a huge lock with a missing key.
She never told anyone her world was falling apart piece by piece on a daily basis because there was a sliver of hope that one day it would stop. Maybe she should draw and get her feelings out that way, it was too late to go out and photograph the stars. There was no point in breaking the rules, not even with her mother being the head of her house. A yawn came from her pink shaded lips as Cassidy walked up the stairs of the dorm room, her eyes still a bit soggy.
Cassidy headed for her bed and plopped down on it, her hand reaching for the bottom of her drawer and taking out the sketchbook and charcoal pencil she used to draw with. There was a beauty in charcoal drawings but since Cassidy had small hands a piece of charcoal crayon didn't work well for her so she used pencils instead. Her brow arched a bit as she heard the door of her dorm but didn't look up. "Hello.." she said with an absent tone to her voice as she kept sketching.
Colwynn usually kept to herself, scribbling lyrics and shitty poetry in her bed, but at least she had some friends. Not to say that her roommate Cassidy didn't have any friends. Aside from in class, Wynn didn't think she'd ever seen her roommate ever having any fun. Not that Colwynn cared. Colwynn was a New York bitch. That was her reputation anyway. Still...she couldn't help but think that Cassidy needed a bit of fun.
But yet again, her head was shoved in her sketchbook. Not that Wynn was one to talk. She had journals and journals full of writing that made her cringe within an hour of writing it. There were some short stories, an attempt at a novel that felt futile, and of course the myriad of poems that would never see the light of day.
"Mason...I think you need to get out," Colwynn said as she went to her bed and started rummaging through her bedside table. "In fact, I insist that you get out. The night is young and full of terrors. You and I could be some of those terrors!" Colwynn didn't anticipate that words would be enough to get Cassidy to have some fun, but it was worth a try. "I didn't want it to come to this, but if you refuse to have fun I'm going to have to do something you'll hate."
Growing up in these dorms with people who she didn't even know before was quite scary. When Cassidy was eleven all she held onto was her friendship with Casey but soon she got close with the other girls here too, though there weren't many of them, she adored them all. Around her bed were photos they all made together and with fairylights she highlighted them all because Cassidy was always so deeply in love with photography. The blonde girl had a smile on her face as she looked at Colwynn, she wanted to be her friend too even if she's new to this school.
"Out?" her smile faded and fear settled in. She didn't want to leave her dorm, she didn't even want to leave the common room. Sure Cassidy was timid and kept to herself but she had no idea what Colwynn wanted from her. What did she even mean? Confusion had taken over and fear was fueling the fire inside of her. "Terrors?" she asked a bit confused on what Colwynn wanted. "What do you mean? What kind of fun?" Cassidy never got into trouble and her mother being head of house, she didn't want to upset her.
"You are not going to kiss me are you? I will scream." she said knowing very well she surely didn't like being kissed. Though her threat of screaming seemed void because her voice stuttered and made her seem like even more of an idiot, she tried to shield her face with her notepad. "I'll have fun, I swear just don't.. kiss me."
Colwynn raised an eyebrow. To be frank, she hadn't been expecting Cassidyto react the way she had. True, she knew that she was being a bit...unpredictable, but Colwynn was almost always unpredictable.
"Okay, me kissing you was far from what I had in mind. No offense. I mean, you're nice and all, but I don't think you're really my type. I don't know if I even have a type, but that isn't at all what I was thinking at all. That's kind of...I dunno...sexual assault-y. Not my bag. but if it'll get you to help me out we'll go with it. Also, tons of girls would kill to kiss me so...it's your loss, really."
Colwynn got onto Cassidy's bed and sat across from her, folding her legs under her as she did. "Alright, so long story short, there's someone who's a dick and he needs to be taught a lesson so...I need your help to just....badger him a little bit. I was thinking we could slip him some puking pastels and then there's a portable swamp I've been saving for a rainy day that I think would be a stunning addition to his dorm room. You in?"
