With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Flora could hardly wait to get to the Winter ball - she lived for the event! Her dress was a floor length, pretty embroidered thing that clung to her body in all the right parts. She felt a million galleons as she lifted her skirt just above her ankles so that she could hurry on up to the dance to meet with Viola and Elena and Liam and Richard. Briefly Flora paused at the entrance to the Common Room, glancing back towards the dorms as she thought about checking if Vinda would want to come with but a chime of the clock made Flora totter to the Great Hall like she was Cinderella escaping from the Ball instead of to it.
Ahead of her, she noticed Elena and Liam all cozy and she giggled. At the doors to the Hall, though, Flora stopped and straightened herself as she waited for her friend. "Vioooolllaaaaaa you fabulous creature you!" she called the moment her dark eyes fell upon the dazzling figure of her friend. "I can't believe we get to have the Weird Sisters play here tonight! I'm so excited; I've even learned most of the words to their songs!"

Archie sighed as he wandered down the stairs that led into the Entrance Hall. Ugh, balls. Those were still actually a thing? Who seriously thought it was a good idea to get a bunch of awkward teenagers into a hall for a ball that was an outdated tradition? ‘At least the girls have fun getting dolled up…’ He thought to himself as he entered the Great Hall to be greeted by the sight of pretty girls in pretty dresses. Maybe it wasn’t all bad?
Leaning against the wall by the drinks table, he tugged at the checkered tie his father had sent him to wear with a very clear note to “be on your best behaviour, even though it’s just a school ball you have to uphold good appearances.”
He so did not want to be here. Would he get away with being here for just half an hour? That counted as attending, right?
A ball was something that Viola was beyond super duper excited for especially given that last year when she'd gotten her dance on, she ended up shimmying with a great big grumpy pants in her year, urging him to move his body to the sound of the music. He'd refused, of course, but after the dance they'd entered into a great big flirtationship, one that had culminated in Vi's first big smoochie smooch sesh in the Herbology greenhouse... and then in the Astronomy tower, the Charms classroom, several broom closets, the grounds and his dorm room. It was a gosh darn shame it had ended, but such was life, and Vi had moved onto kissing other people instead.
With a smile as bright as the sun, Vi grinned as she passed by a few of the students waiting for their partners, until she spied Flora with her little eyes. Bouncing over, Vi flung her arms over Flora's neck, giving her a tiny squeeze before stepping back. Instantly, Vi's fingers went to Flora's hair, twirling a strand around her fingers. "You look amazing ohmygosh, look at your hair! It's so luscious and long and by Merlin, I just wanna braid it! You ready to go in?" Before Flora had a chance to answer, Vi took her hand, pulling her into the hall with a laugh. "You need to teach me all those words, else I'm gonna look like a great big silly billy not singing along!"
Looking around, Vi's finger immediately found Elena and Liam. "Look at the two little love birds! D'you reckon they'll smoochie smooch tonight? Again?" she whispered excitedly, before she was quickly distracted by another person. Immediately, she broke into a grin, giving Archie a wave. "I'm gonna make Flors dance! Come join us, won't you? I bet you're the bees knees at dancing! What do those muggles say... uhm... oh! I betcha got the moves like John Lennon!"
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
Gemini loved dancing! She was going to have so much fun! She had found a dress she wanted to wear and now she was making her way to the great hall looking for friends and people to dance with. She spun around until she found people and skipped towards them with her cheery smile on her face and her hands waving at Viola and Archie.
She knew Viola was super sweet but she didn't talk much to Archie but why not now right? Gemini looked at them both and when Viola mentioned dancing she just lit up more.
"Can I dance with you?" she asked and hopped up and down a bit.
"I am actually not a bad dancer! Oh oh maybe you can teach me muggle moves?" she asked and looked at Archie.

A familiar bright face soon caught Archie’s attention as the fellow Ravenclaw waved at him. Viola Rosaline always seemed so...joyful, like she was just made out of sunshine? He personally didn’t understand how someone could be happy all the time, it seemed exhausting to him, but he couldn’t deny her ability to easily put a smile on his face.
“Vi, Flora. Ver’ bonnie...” A flirtatious smile slipped onto the Scottish boy’s lips as he wandered over to them, quickly glancing them both up and down as he did so. “Ver’ sparkly.” He nodded at Vi; it matched her Little Miss Sunshine personality. “I don’t dance though.” It wasn’t that he had two left feet, he could dance a little (he knew the odd Scottish dance here and there that he had to learn for weddings and celebrations) but it was more that he didn’t like making himself look like a fool.
Another pretty girl appeared next to Vi, a girl he didn’t know but worthy of a compliment all the same. “Another bonnie lass.” His mood was starting to pick up. If he was stuck here, at least he could enjoy himself with some pretty company?
“Who’s John Lennon and what’s he got to do with anything?” He frowned in confusion at the girls. Unlike a lot of purebloods he hadn’t been banned from the muggle world and experiences but he had never heard of the bloke before. Should he? He sounded like he was maybe someone big. Was he trying to distract the girls from wanting to dance for a few minutes too? Yes, yes he was.
Flora let out an easy laugh as Viola bounced over like a bunny and curled her fingers into her own brown locks. "Oh Vi, you know I love it when you play with my hair. Go on, give it a tug," Flora winked playfully at her blonde friend as she returned the hugging embrace. "But no babe, this dress is not a braided hair dress. Else what'll draw the boys eyes down to the puppies?" She gave Vi a cheeky grin as they entered the Great Hall. Honestly, her big ol' necklace probably would do the trick too but Flora was a bit insecure about how small her chest was so she felt it needed all the help she could give it.
"If you just move your mouth with enough confidence, people won't know the difference," Flora laughed, giving Vi a little squeeze with one handas she lifted the skirt of her embellished dress with the other so that she could enter the Great Hall with her friend. When Viola drew attention to Eleniam, Flora chuckled and swatted the girl's finger away. "No doubt about it. I don't think they've stopped much since the last party," Flora whispered back though it wasn't very softly to be honest. "By Merlin, doesn't she look stunning though?"
Next up, Viola was hollering at young Archie and Flora's thin lips curled up into a grin because he came almost as fast as most boys did when Elena did her veela-thing. "You sure you aren't part veela, babe?" she whispered just before Archie reached them. "Aye, et tu êtes très beau ce soir," she said, dropping into a practiced curtsy with a cheeky grin that showed she was just playing around (but, being good pureblooded stock, knew her shit).
Next, a younger kiddo came over that almost made Viola look as calm and lifeless as her sister Vinda. Flora's dark eyes left Archie and Viola for that moment and her cheeky smile turned into one of sarcastic enthusiasm. "Oh Merlin! YES! Let's dance like John LEMON!" Flora grabbed onto Gem's hands and tugged her away from Viola and Archie, flipping her hair over her shoulder and heading to the dance floor. "Like this - watch - " Flora demonstrated as best as she could when they were on the dance floor. Viola could play with Archie for a little while. De rien, Viola.

Vi's tongue instantly wormed it's way into her cheek and with mischievous eyes, she gave Flora's hair the tiniest of tugs. "Did that turn you on, you funny bunny?" she teased with a giggle, before sighing dramatically. Not a braidy hair dress. Golly gosh, all these rules! That's why Vi's hair was cropped to her shoulders. It was easy to deal with, just run a brush through it and wear it down or tie half of it up. No drama llamas!
But Flora's next statement had Vi blinked, befuddled. "Puppies... what pup... OH! Your... right. Puppies. Bobbly boobs." They really were out there in the dress Flora wore, but Vi certainly wasn't complaining. Body love for all! Totally something she promoted. The twinkle in Vi's eyes only just grew stronger as she bopped Flora with her shoulder, joking, "Careful, Flora. I have a way with the ladies now, didn't you know?" She was, of course, referring to the absolutely marvelous smoochie woochie fest she'd had with Celeste in her dorms. The one she'd excitedly whisper-shouted at Flora when she'd joined her for breakfast the next morning.
Vi nodded at Flora's suggestion of just moving her mouth with confidence, like it was a precious pearl of wisdom. Gosh, Flora was such a smart cookie! It definitely made Vi wish she'd been sorted into Ravenclaw for her. She was quickly veered off that line of though as Flora said, 'I don't think they've stopped much' and Vi broke into a great big smile again because good for them. Super duper good! "I hope they're just being safe. Y'know... making sure the door's locked and everything," she whispered, pulling a face as her hand was swatted at. "She looks beautiful, and Liam does too. Two brilliant, beautiful beans."
"Maybe you're the veela - ever think of that, you gorgeous creature, you?" Vi whispered straight back at Flora, and then Archie was approaching them. Immediately, VI beamed, especially as he said the words 'bonnie' in that handsome Scottish accent of his. It was positively swoon-worthy, definitely made her want to plant one on him! Maybe later though, because then he was compliment her dress and Vi did a little twirl, arms spread. "Maybeeeee Archie, you can dance but you just don't know it! Like one of those hidey hole talent thingy majigs, y'know? Like when people don't know they twist their tongue a funny way until they try." Made sense to her!
All of a sudden, another person wiggled their way into their conversion. More the merrier, at least that's what Vi though! "Hey Gem!" she greeted brightly. She'd just started nodding enthusiastically to the younger girl's suggestion when suddenly, Flora tugged the girl away and onto the dancefloor. 'Be nice,' Vi mouthed at her friendly before she started laughing because silly. Silly, silly girl! She hoped Gem had a sense of humour on her and would wiggle along. Turning to Archie once more, Vi waved her hands as she tried to explain who John Lennon was. "He's... the, uh... one with the tongue. He has something to do with rocks too, and apparently he's a very good dancer! That's why he's got the moves."
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
Gemini wanted to make more friends and her father always said her smile would light up the room. Not like this room needed to be lit up there were so many lights and so many smiles. She adored Viola's smile, it was like her own and Gemini just felt good. The girl played with her dress a bit and looked at the conversation between them all.
She totally didn't see the pretty girl with Viola and felt so ashamed. "Thank you! I love your accent." she told Archie and gave him a smile before turning to Viola and Flora. "Hi Viola! Oh hey yes let's dance!" she squealed and went with Flora, not that she had much choice in the matter.
She watched Flora dance and just did what she did too. "This is fun!" she chuckled and she didn't care how silly she looked! She was making friends so who cares right?

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Scarlett didn't feel so good but she wasn't going to walk away from a party. The brunette was not going to let a stomach bug get to her and just cleaned up her act before sliding into her red dress and heading for the dance. She heard the music ever so loud and hooked her arm with Ozzy as she walked in.
"Something is off... so keep me away from anything sweet.." she said and shook her head. Stupid timing for a stomach bug. Scarlett looked at Ozzy and smiled.
"You look cleaned up. I like it." she said kissing his cheek and frowned. "I'll protect you from fangirls." She winked and sighed. She wished she could be here with Teddy but sadly that wasn't possible.

Staring at her reflection in the mirror with her eyes narrowed, Aggy wriggled the pale pink bodice of her dress up yet again because by Merlin, she was not having a Janet Jackson moment at the dance. Not on her life, and if Evan made a surprising appearance as Justin Timberlake, she'd kick him straight in the...
Suddenly, the sound of Evan calling up the stairs echoed, urging Aggy to hurry up and Aggy shouted back through the door, "I'm sure the little sausages will wait for you, Evan! Don't worry your little head!" Then sitting on the edge of the bed, Aggy pulled on the heels she'd packed in her trunk because Evan was a bloody giant who kept having growth spurts and she wasn't about to look like a pixie standing beside him, barely even reaching his armpit.
Casting one last glance in the mirror, Aggy pushed open the dormitory dorm, a wee bit unsteady on her heels as she walked down the stairs. "We haven't transported back to the 80s, Wood. Nobody says 'groove thang' any more," Aggy told him with an amused snort, before finally stepping out into the room.
Immediately, she was taken aback because holy hell. Evan looked good. More... than good, in fact, like he'd stepped off the set of some 007 film with the way the suit was tailored just right and his blonde hair swept across his forehead. Clearing her throat, Aggy stared up (not as much as usual) into Evan's face, a smirk playing at her lips. "Here I was, thinking you'd be wearing a kilt. How does it feel disappointing all your Scottish ancestors, Wood?" she asked dryly.
Ollie was excited for the dance but of course her best friend picked out her dress which meant she had been wearing an expensive dress Parker insisted she had to buy to impress Gabriel. The girl looked at the black dress and bit her lip. Ollie walked into the great hall, her hands folded together as she looked around. Ollie played with a lock of her hair and chewed on her lip as she looked around.
The dance was crowded and she just waited at the door for her date. She did hope she could find her brother and dance with him at least once tonight. The great hall looked beautiful and she did love how the place was decorated and the band was doing great too.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Scorpius wasn't fond of dances but yet here he was at a dance. He was wearing a suit but he already felt like running. He didn't want the same to happen to him this time that happened last time. Scorpius slipped his hands in his pockets and just headed for the table with the drinks. He would marry the table if he could, away from people and until Suzie showed up or any friends he would stay grounded here.
Scorpius avoided gazes and looks and reached for a drink.
Mariah decided for a while to go this ball or not. She didn't have a date or anything like that. She didn't even know anyone well enough to ask to go there with her. The girl had been here for the third year now, and she barely has got close to anyone. Anyways she was taking a long time to think all this over. At the end, the girl decided to go just because she had nothing better to do. She needed some fun in her life and hoped that this night will be that. Maybe she can even meet new people and make friends for real, she needs to start began to let people in.
Mariah got dressed for the ball and at the end, she was satisfied with her look. She knew it wasn't the usual wear for the ball but she liked it. She soon walked to the great hall where the ball was held. The young hufflepuff looked around there and kept smiling. She greeted some people here and there too when they said hey to her. She knew most of them by classes but she barely knew any of their names. She just didn't really see why she should remember them all.
When she walked by to girls who made their pretty funny dance then Mariah stopped on her tracks over to snack bar and ended up laughing. This was just so funny too watch. "Sor..ry," the girls tried to say awhile still laughing. She just had never seen something so funny. At least something had made her day better, well at least funny.
Gabriel lived for formal affairs like the Winter Ball. His tuxedo was freshly and perfectly pressed; his bow tied in an elaborate fashion that could unfortunately only be admired up close. In his breast pocket, Gabriel had requested from a local florist a fresh red flower and one that matched for his girlfriend, the lovely Olivia.
So busy was Gabriel in adjusting his dark blonde locks and cufflinks that he completely lost track of the time. "Got a hot date for the Ball, Jun?" he asked rather amicably during his prep time, though he realised too late that he didn't have time left to wait for an answer. Instead, he hurried out the dorm to the girl's ones and found that, unfortunately, he'd missed picking Olivia up.
Quickly, Gabriel jogged to the Great Hall and slowed once he caught sight of Olivia. Her dress was stunning and her smile was even better than Gabriel could ever imagine. "Good evening, Olivia," he said as he reached closer and grinned from ear to ear. "You look absolutely stunning. Are you ready to go for a dance?" he asked, offering his arm for her to take.

I'M YOUR CH-CH-CHERRY
BOMB| CHERRY BOMB| CHERRY BOMB|
GET DOWN LADIES, YOU'VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE
Rose wore a cherry red dress, a dress she would only wear for special occassions and this was one of them. The girl had a smile on her face as she confidently walked up to the great hall. She couldn't find her date yet and that was okay. Rose was happy to wait for her date at the entrance. The redhead just fixed her hair, playing with a lock of it as she pulled it to the side a bit and sighed.
This was going to be her first dance with a girl as her date. She was going to kill James if he had anything bad to say about it. Rose had feelings for Frankie and she really needed Frankie to know that.
