With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was a cold november morning. Breakfast hour just finished and all the students as well as professors, ambassadors and visitors have been told to go to the quidditch pitch. The players had been able to prepare just a little before the start of the first game of the year. It had been announced the game would be Slytherin vs. Hufflepuff. The teams were brought to the center of the field where the referee was holding the quaffle in their hands.
"A clean game, preferably without injuries!"
The whistle was blown, the quaffle tossed into the air. Let the games begin!
(It's cold so you can defintely mention your character was cut by the cold wind, try to keep it clean. A staff member will post after actions have been taken with the appropriate time to respond. Every player gets 48 hours to respond before action by the staff members are taken. Another player can at any time intercept but don't take away the fun of will I get hit yes or no! Some slots aren't taken yet, so if you wish to have a student signed up feel free to do so and then post here, otherwise npcing is allowed just post that you npc!)
Standing on the ground with her legs either side of her broom, Sally had a great big grin on her face. She was so ecstatic because she'd made it! She was only a second year and she was on the team! As a beater, no less! How sweet was that? She wasn't about to let the older students intimidate her either. Just because she was small, didn't mean she wasn't carrying some mad strength in her arms. She showed that in try-outs where she'd whacked a bludger full-force from the pitch and soaring over the owlery tower.
Turning to Gabriel and Skylar, her teammates, Sally's smile didn't dim a kilowatt. "Let's kick some arse, yeah boys?" she exclaimed brightly, loud enough to get a warning look from the ref. Whoops! "Er, some butts. Let's kick some Slytherin butts today!" With that and a little shoot of some finger guns, Sally pushed off into the air, soaring high up into the sky.
She hoped her brothers were in the crowd, watching her. She wanted to make Leo, Liam and her parents proud, prouder than they'd ever been of her... show them that she wasn't little Sally any more, but an almost thirteen year old who could square of with the best Quidditch players Hogwarts had to offer!
Eyes searching, Sally let out a 'whoop!' as she noticed a bludger, lurching forward and hitting it with a loud, satisfying 'SMACK!' towards the opposing team, right at their chaser, FLORA SELWYN.
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Sure, practice was fun and all, but nothing compared to the feeling of walking out on the pitch for the first game of the year, dressed in full uniform, everyone cheering in the stands. No matter how cold it was, it was like Skylar didn't even notice it, too caught up in planning his strategy for the game. While he did have to wonder if Morgan was cheering for him or for her own house today, the excitement of Quidditch meant that it didn't matter--the only thing that mattered this morning was the Snitch. All other worries--of which there always seemed to be too many--would float away from him as soon as he kicked into the air. Lining up at the center of the field with the rest of the Hufflepuff team, he grinned at Sally's words. The young Beater brought so much good energy to the team, and she'd already proven her worth in practice. Now it was his job to stay away from her counterparts on the other team.
At the whistle, the redhead shot up into the air, heading immediately for the side of the pitch to keep away from what he knew was always a battle for the Quaffle in the middle. He squinted into the wind as he flew in circles, keeping his eye out for both the Golden Snitch and the golden-haired girl who would need to be kept away from it.

Elena was beside herself about the game. She knew she couldn't ask Liam to outwardly cheer her on of course, but she could ask VIOLA ROSALINE. She'd been excited all dayn making sure she ate right, and stuck to a light work out to stretch the muscles and prepare. She spent all morning cheering and chanting when her friends passed, giving the small seeker bits of encouragement and praise. Either way she'd had a holden opportunity (pun intended) and she didn't plan on wasting a single moment of it.
"We've got this. Between us misfits, what could go wrong?" She joked gently, tightening her gloves on and pulling back her long, pale hair. "Alright, Slytherin, let's show'em how it's done, ay?" She smiled, giving Raouf a pat at the shoulder. Always the calm little talker. She supposed she should've been more nervous for the first game, and maybe she was a bit, but it was nothing compared to the excitement and the adrenaline. She was an athlete and she would kick some arse. Even if she didn't win, she would certainly make an impression.

As much as Greyson loved Quidditch - and he loved it a lot, swinging bludgers at unsuspecting gits and causing chaos - he refused to play for a school team because there were so many rules, stupid ones too, and he hated how there were team captains who acted like goddamn bloody dictators. Dictators who demanded their players wake up at the arse crack of dawn and got good grades to stay on the teams. It was a bunch of crap.
But despite his loathing and general disdain on how the teams were led, he still liked standing in the crowd and cheering on the sport. It gave him something to do, and he usually won a few galleons from betting on the teams... in fact, he'd even placed a few on the Hufflepuff team today. As much as he thought the majority of the Hufflepuff players were soft, weak gits, he knew they could kick arse with Gabe playing chaser on the team. He was the best player they had, without a shadow of a doubt. Better than the chumps like nutcase Dio Greyback and tiny fairy Elena Coldwater on the Slytherin team.
He made his support clear as he watched his brother on the ground, cupping his hands around his mouth and hollering, "You better win this damn game, Gabe! Or I'll tell everyone what you keep in your bedroom drawers!"
Flora couldn't help but feel excitement brewing deep within her belly. She enjoyed flying - particularly the feeling of her light locks flying behind her whenever she pushed the broom to its upper limits or the lazy way the wind billowed her robes on a calm day as she tested just how slow she could go. So when there was a spot that had opened up on the Slytherin Quidditch team, Flora had thought 'sure, why not!' Now as she huddled with the team and listened to her pumped little veela friend got the team going. "Heck yes!" she put her hand up to high-five Elena before they broke to begin the game.
Flora looked at her fellow team mates as they took off after the ball. She noted the red-headed Hufflepuff seeker and used her big brown eyes to motion to Elena that she needed to keep an eye on him. In the air herself, Flora flew to catch the Quaffle as quickly as she could. That was the main aim for her... right? Flora's entire attention was on that ball and she definitely wasn't paying nearly enough attention to the fact that Sally Jordan had sent a bludger her way. Not until she had caught the quaffle and was face to face with the bludger coming straight in her direction.
"Mer - !" Flora tried to make herself dive so that she'd miss the impact. Instead it clipped her shoulder extremely painfully. "- LIN!" it came out in a scream of pain, her clavical snapped and she dropped the quaffle like a lead balloon as she tried desperately to hold onto the broom. The heat radiated from the impact, as if someone had hit her with a soldering iron and she could hardly see a through the white pain.

It was the first Quidditch game of the year and whilst Vi didn't really fully understand how the game worked still with all the funny bunny rules and stuff, she still dragged Liam and Clary along to come watch with her. After all, there were quite a few of her friends playing! Skylar on the Hufflepuff team, then Elena and Flora on the Slytherin team.
Clapping her hands together, Vi watched with excitement as the two teams gathered on the pitch, practically bouncing on the spot as she exclaimed to Liam and Clary, "This is going to be super duper exciting, don't you think? Who do you think will win? Merlin, I don't even care really! I just want them to have fun. 'Specially since it's Flors first game!"
With great big eyes, Vi watched as the players launched off into the air, pointing to keep track of where each of her friends were. "C'mon Skylar, c'mon Elena, c'mon Flora! You can do it!" she shouted, grinning. They probably couldn't hear her, but it was the support that counted, right? This was going to be excellent...
Or, at least, it was until suddenly a bludger came flying towards Flora. Immediately, Vi's breath caught in her throat, her hands flying out to grip one of Clary's hands, her other hand landing somewhere on Liam's arm and clutching at it. Before she could say something, warn her somehow, the bludger smashed into Flora's shoulder despite the girl's best efforts to dive. "Ohmygoodness," Vi breathed out as she heard her best friend's scream of pain. "She's gonna... she's gonna fall off... SOMEBODY HELP HER!"
FLORA SELWYN got hit by the bludger, breaking her collarbone. FLORA SELWYN has until june 20th 11 am gmt to respond with how she will deal with the injury. (she could fall, she could get caught by an npc!)
Deciding whom to cheer for was a little harder for Zoe than some as being Australian, she had no particular loyalty to any House. She’d sometimes fancied that of the four houses, she would probably have been sorted into Gryffindor but as fate would have it, the old magic hat never once touched her head. So it was that for the first match of the season, Zoe had flipped a fifty cent piece from home and it had landed on the Queen’s ugly mug - also known as heads and Zoe pulled out her deep green winter coat to head off to the match. The kids were all so very excited and Zoe loved the atmosphere as she climbed the steep steps up to the seating area.
”Hey Jack,” she greeted her devilishly handsome boss as she scooted onto the bench beside him. ”I do hope it’s going to be a ripper of a game! Look, i magicked myself a Slythy-scarf just to wave it about for my first ever game at Hogwarts!” she pulled out the scarf that had been knitted by charm and waved it a little before giving Jack a wink. ”If they don’t win, I’m sure I can find other uses for it,” a small hint at an earlier conversation that she had not forgotten.
No sooner had she begun to cheer for Slytherin who had seemingly caught the quaffle first ... then her bright blue eyes pinched shut as the fierce scream of pain echoed across the field and Zoe realised the teenager was in trouble. ”Holy smokes! HOLD ON TO YOUR BROOM KIDDO!!!” she yelled, hoping that the words would get through and the girl didn’t drop to the pitch like a dead dodo.
"A'ight bruv, 'ere I brought ya 'n' extra scarf so ya can be a 'Puff for the day," Liam announced proudly as he went to pick up his adopted Ravenclaw bruva-from-a-milky-mutha to take to the first game of the season. "Me sista Sally's playin' so we 'ave to yell super loud for 'er, yeah?" Liam was super excited and it only grew when he was finally in the stands. The crowd was already super excited and Liam could see his little sister down on the pitch. "Get 'em Sally!!!!!!" he yelled and then put his fingers to his lips to do the loudest whistle known to man-kind. "C'mon Alex, let's find Vi 'n' Clary-bear," Liam made quick work of it because thankfully Viola was someone who was just as loud as he was.
Taking a seat with Vi on one side and Alex on the other, Liam cheered loudly as his sister gave that big ol' bludger a huge whack. "Ya see that?! Wow she's got a swing on 'er, 'ey!" Liam grinned and nudged Alex in his seat, "I take credit o'course cuz she's used me as a punchin' bag often 'nough!" But then Viola caught Liam's attention and he followed her line of sight just in time to see Flora, their friend, get smacked by the ball. "Merlin 'ave mercy!!!!! Damn Sally's got good aim!" he said with a big grin until he realised that probably wasn't the best thing to say when it came to the fact that his friend had just got hit and badly. "VIIIIII ya gon' squeeze me arm off!" he whined as he tried to flex his developing muscles to harden them against the girl's tight hold.

Walking out onto the Quidditch pitch, Gabriel patted his team-mate Skylar on the back once and laughed at Sally's enthusiasm. "Smack them butts right outta the sky, Sal!" he said just as enthusiastically and just before take off he turned to the redhead, "She'll keep the bludgers off you - just you worry about catching that golden snitch Skylar!" When the quaffle went up in the air, Gabriel was rather miffed to find that Flora was quicker to catch it than he was. He anticipated her move - she was a newbie, so she'd no doubt just hurtle towards the goals without much thought otherwise.
In a moment he pulled up though because Gabriel heard a squeal come from the fourth year Slytherin. The sound was jarring, but Gabriel saw his opening when the girl dropped the quaffle. "Gotcha!" Gabriel zoomed to catch the ball but at the last moment he felt a pang of guilt about the fact that the Slytherin girl was about to lose control of her plummet and he dropped the quaffle in favour of scooping his arm around the girl's waist. "Shit, you're heavy!" Gabe groaned as he tried his best to control his own decent to the ground with Flora prone in his arms. Flora's broom smashed into pieces as it hit the ground before Gabriel & Flora made a shaky landing. "I... I think she's dead?" She wasn't. Flora'd just passed out.
Ollie wasn't big on the sports but here she was in the Hufflepuff stands cheering on her boyfriend? Was he her boyfriend? She had no idea but she liked him and he needed her support! The girl looked at the game in awe and tried to follow Gabriel but it was hard because they moved so fast! The girl kept looking in awe and then she saw Sally hit the bludger and it hit the other girl making Ollie gasp.
"Oh poor girl!" she squealed and looked at the person next to her. "Did you see that?" she asked and looked back at the girl with wide eyes. Then Gabriel swooped in and actually saved the girl. Ollie smiled brightly and clapped. That was just amazing right there.
"You go Gabriel!" she shouted, surely he wouldn't be able to hear her.

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

Quidditch was super funsies and Clary was excited to be here but she was also nervous because honestly she loved the sport she was just not good at it herself. The blue haired girl had a smile on her face as she watched the game start off and she was glad Viola dragged her along.
"I hope Flo wins! She seemed so excited for her first game!" she said and grinned a bit as she then turned her attention to Liam before her hand got squished. Clary blushed a bit, her face turning red before shaking her head, hoping she'd shake it off.
"Oh god.. FLORA NO.." she felt tears in her eyes. This was scary! Then a boy saved her and Clary let out a sigh. "Wow he is sweet."
'A Quidditch game... how pedestrian,' Vinda thought with distaste as she moved up the stands, very carefully not brushing against a single person because who knew if tacky fashion taste was contagious? She didn't want to risk it. Never in a million years, would she want to wear one of those ugly as sin beanies or wave a ridiculous little flag. Attending the game was bad enough, but she wasn't about to drag herself down to that level. She was only here to quietly support her sister cousin from the stands, not to holler at people fooling around with balls or broomsticks.
Smoothing out her skirt, Vinda was pleased when she finally found a spot in the stands that wasn't too overcrowded with people, steel blue eyes gazing out onto the pitch to see if she could find Flora... and there she was, about to kick off the ground, her brunette hair fluttering behind her. She looked remarkably like Pierre from this angle, a thought that made Vinda's jaw tighten because of course she did. No wonder people thought that Vinda wasn't truly Pierre's full sibling, her features came more from her imprisoned father than her mother. Meanwhile, Flora was the spitting image of her mother and Pierre.
Her foot tapping on the wooden floor beneath her, she watched as Flora flew up into the air with her teammates - like that took much skill - and her eyes stayed firmly glued on the girl because she was here to watch her, after all. Not anyone else. Unfortunately, that meant that as soon as the bludger went soaring towards her cousin, she saw every minute of it, heart slamming up into her throat as she heard Flora's friends screaming, and the girl herself let out a blood-curdling scream with nobody coming to her rescue for what felt like minutes, when it reality it was seconds.
As soon as Flora lost control of her broom and nearly plummeted straight to the ground, thankfully the Hufflepuff - who knew they were good for something? - Avery grabbed her. Immediately, Vinda was pushing though the crowd with a demanding and firm, "Move!" until the students parted like the red sea, allowing her through towards the staircases where she broke into a run, coming onto the sidelines of the Quidditch pitch to hear the remark 'I think she's dead' leave Avery's mouth. Her eyes narrowed, she threw a biting remark of, "Are you touched in the head?" his way because a broken shoulder or collarbone or whatever wouldn't have killed her.
When the healer rushed onto the field and moved Flora to safety so they could tend to her, Vinda looked down at her sister's passed out face as she muttered, "and this is why Quidditch is for idiots with a death wish, Flora."
