With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Something had been up with one of Nadya's classmates. And while she couldn't put a finger on exactly what it was, she liked to think of herself as particularly attuned to changes in the magic around her. She was not sure if this was an actual veela power, and as always, she wished she had someone to tell her if it was. It was never enough to read books. Books didn't tell the truth about who she was, and that was what the Russian girl cared about most of all. It was why she cared so much about werewolves when others were so frightened, because she knew what it was like to be a creature and to take pride in it. She felt as if she could not rest until all creatures could take pride in who they were. She had seen the statues in the Ministry; she knew that there was still more work to be done.
Sitting alone next to the crackling fireplace in the sixth-floor hall, Nadya arranged some herbs in front of it to dry, considering what she knew about Melinda. She was not the kind of girl that Nadya had ever felt necessary to befriend, a bit too happy and outgoing for her tastes, but she had become so different now. Had she somehow skirted the restrictions on werewolves? No, that seemed impossible...

Melinda was currently on the sixth floor getting ready to make the trek all the way up to Gryffindor Tower. She had just finished doing a bit of studying in the library and was ready to relax a bit. She still hadn't told anyone she was a vampire.
It was probably for the better that no one knew because vampires were considered dangerous creatures. Eventually she would have to tell somebody about it but Melinda wasn't sure who she could tell without fearing it would come back to bite her in the ass. Spotting her Russian classmate Nadya in the middle of the corridor Melinda smiled at her. "Oh hey Nadya. I wasn't expecting to run into anybody here." She didn't know how often students visited the east wing. She hardly ever came here after all.

Leave it to people to turn up right when Nadya was thinking about them. She was almost certain that was not a power she was meant to have, though she reflected that she really wouldn't know if it was. Maybe it was just a coincidence that the Gryffindors had to pass the sixth floor to get to their dormitories. "I'm just drying herbs. The fireplace is here, and they won't be disturbed like they would in the common room," she explained, shrugging her shoulders. She knew that it was a little unusual to be in the hall alone like this, but she felt that by now, people expected her to be in strange places, even if they couldn't predict exactly which strange places they would be.
It didn't seem like Melinda was particularly interested in being there, but Nadya did not want to let her leave right away. She could finally find out what the Gryffindor's change in demeanor was all about. Kicking one leg out in front of her, closer to the fire, she sat back, hoping she looked casual. "Been looking for something here?"
