With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The sun had barely risen over the mountain tops surrounding Hogwarts when Runa was already on her way to the green houses. Hogwarts had seven of them - quite few if she thought back to Durmstrang, where they had many more. But that was probably due to the cold climate and the neccessity to grow almost everything in a greenhouse. However, Hogwarts had made it work for her. A few years into teaching at the school and they had agreed to expand greenhouse 7 for her, which she was very grateful for. It had allowed her to collect a rather special tree over the summer and bring it to the school.
Truging along the gravel path in her usual, slightly smudged beige coloured robes, laden with supplies she needed for the rest of the school day, she wondered how many of her NEWT students would know anything about the tree, for it was not your every day magical plant. But she was positive that some of her more eager students would easily identify its origins and its needs. That was the most important goal of the lesson, to make challenge them to identify something they had never seen before and keep it alive.
Having prepared the ‘classroom’ Runa waited in front of greenhouse 4 for her charges. Her bare toes were digging into the cold, soft earth beneath her as she heard the bell ring up at the castle.
”We’re going to greenhouse seven today, please follow me,” the short woman called loudly when most of the students had gathered, and led the way to the rarely used greenhouse.

Herbology just so happened to be one of Grace's favourite classes and she would daresay that would be thanks to the greenthumb passed down from her dad. He had a collection of plants back at home, spread throughout their house and the gardens outside and they even had their own little dedicated greenhouse. Ever since she was little, she had been helping him take tend to them, and she even had her own collection growing in her dorm room down in the Hufflepuff basement.
Walking towards the greenhouses for her first Herbology lesson of the year, Grace's eyes fell on Professor Skarsgård who announced they were going to greenhouse seven. It was a rarity and as she followed Professor Skarsgård, she hoped they were in for a treat!

One of the only classes Nadya ever looked forward too was Herbology. Despite growing up in the giant city of London, she had always felt a bit more affinity with the isolated location of Hogwarts and its Forbidden Forest. Even with its being forbidden and all, she still went in for various reasons--picking mushrooms, breathing the fresh scent of the pines, even simply feeling the mossy ground under her bare feet without any strange looks from the rest of the school. Today, though, she was wearing the boots that were supposed to protect her in this class, even as she wished to walk barefoot like the professor. Nadya's dragonhide gloves were tucked under her arm as she walked up to the greenhouse, giving her attention to Professor Skarsgård. As tall as she was, Nadya had to look down physically on the professor, but in truth she looked up to her more than she did any of the other professors. She hoped the lesson would bring something new and exciting.
And as the professor told them to make their way to greenhouse seven, Nadya felt that her hope might come true. There were unusual things in there, she knew, and she would jump at the chance to see them. It was so much better to be a N.E.W.T. student, finally learning about all the plants in more detail. She fell into step alongside a Hufflepuff girl in the year below her, offering her a small smile as they walked. Nadya was always more cheerful than usual when nature was involved.
It often came as a surprise for people to learn that Cooper had been quite skilled at Herbology. Cooper had loved learning about Herbology, because it had tied hand in hand with Potions. Which was important to Cooper who liked learning about the ingredients. His parents had also been shocked when they found out about their son's skills when it came to Herbology.
The Slytherin made his way down to the greenhouses with his books, and he had hoped he was early enough because he couldn't imagine being late. Even if he had been late plenty of times to class, but it didn't mean that he was quite fond of it.
When he arrived at greenhouses, the Slytherin learned that they would be going to Greenhouse seven. And it made him smirk, as he said. "I wonder what we are learning about in greenhouse seven." he said with a charming chuckle.
