With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Ever since Runa returned to the Dragon Village, Almir has been a little lonely. He was glad he had some great colleagues in Zoe and Astrid who he could often enjoy time with. However it wasn't the same as having a buddy in your house. While Runa and he were just friends it was nice to have someone to chat to after a day of work. Someone suggested Almir should give dating a try. So since about five months now, he tried Wizarding dating methods. Honestly he wasn't sure what he was looking for but it was good to meet new people right?
Thus far he hadn't been successful. A lot of people didn't even want to meet up because they didn't want to be seen with a being. And others well… Said good bye as soon as the sex happened 'because they just wanted to experience what it was like to do it with a part giant.' While Almir hadn't really expected a relationship to come from it, he was a little disappointed that people saw him as nothing but a bucket list thing. That was it, a thing not even a person.
Now Almir was quite a confident guy but he'd always struggled with his abnormal size. He wondered how the dating process would go if he was a regular size person. Willing to put it to a test, Almir started to come up with a plan
The trip to the dungeons didn't happen without bumping his head against something at least four times. But he had made it and was quite proud he didn't actually destroy anything. The chandeliers were the hardest to dodge.
Without knocking, the blonde man busted into the office with a beaming smile and a sparkle in his eye. But not without hitting his forehead. "Auch. Ariella! How wonderful to see you," he stepped forward to hug her but he remembered just in time after messing up twice she didn't appreciate it. While twirling his long locks around his finger, Almir tried to come up with the right way to ask this. "Say ehhh does that shrinking potion work on people too?"
Ariella was merely doing her job, brewing potions for research and glad that there weren't any classes scheduled for today with the massive headache she had been getting. Sometimes she wondered why she even tried to be a professor when she knew for a fact no one liked her, not that she cared about that because the feeling's mutual, but also because she still saw no point in being here for anything other than a babysitter. Ozzy redeemed himself with their father and was probably going to get a job inside the business but yet she was stuck here for another year.
The woman arched her brow when she watched the hairy giant walk into her office. Ariella put down the wine glass she was drinking from, slight annoyance on her expression. She was about to scold him for touching her but thank goodness the man learned his lesson. "Almir." Her greeting was short and as cold as usual, the woman stayed near her brews and potions. "Of course the shrinking solution works on people, as long as you brew it the right way it will work," there was a curious expression on her face now with him asking her such a question.
Whenever someone needed something, that was when Ariella seemed to come into play. "As it's well known, the shrinking solution is very poisonous when you brew it the wrong way." Ariella walked up to her cabinet and grabbed a vial. "What do you need this for exactly?" she surely knew he was going to be able to brew it. That big head was stuffed with something but knowledge of potions not a chance. She knew she was hard on him but Ariella was hard on anyone, letting people in wasn't an option for her.

After the feast and the many displeased reactions, Almir had decided to take in mind not everyone appreciated hugs. People were different and they liked different things. So he kept in mind to stay at at least an arm length. Sometimes he could get a little excited but if it resorted in his coworkers feeling uncomfortable, it was something he wanted to change about himself..
Almir was unaffected by the cold greeting it was better than not being greeted at all. This was just who she was. "Awesome," he replied with hope. Perhaps this could be his solution. Then he heard he had to brew it right and the part giant swallowed. "Oh, ehh. That might be a problem. I've never been really good with the delicate work of potions," he said as he showed his large hands. Yes he had been planning on doing it himself but it seemed like a big risk. Getting a date was not worth the risk of poisoning.
"Could you perhaps spare a bit? I'll owe you a favor," he tried to ask with his huge ice blue puppy eyes. When asked what for he was going to use it, Almir turned a bit timid. "Well, I eh," he mumbled scratching his beard as his cheeks glew in embarrassment. "I'd like to know what it's like to be normal," he mumbled , the word normal stung. Almir had always considered himself a normal guy just slightly taller than most of them.

Being normal. It was one of the things Ariella never really seemed to have to worry about because her normal was quite different from the normal others were experiencing. She had accepted that, moved on and never looked back. Ariella had fought to be who she was and those who knew her knew she was not always this cold hearted person they see on this day. The death of her mother had brought this person out and she had given in rather than fight it. Ariella didn't want to let people in and though she didn't give a single damn about Almir, she did feel something for him but she couldn't place the emotion.
Maybe she felt sad for him but then why should she feel said for something that is obviously not her problem to begin with? Ariella's hand was still wrapped around the little vial that had enough potion to shrink this beast of a man to a regular sized man but there was something holding her back from giving it to him. Ariella pursed her lips and put the vial down on her desk. "I can see that," she commented on his big hands.
"You can have this vial, it has been brewed recently as examples for the first years." Ariella motioned to the vial on her desk. "But before you go.." she needed to know. "What do you think you'll achieve when you are a regular sized man for about eight hours? Do you think you will be accepted for who you are? Do you think this is going to make you feel normal?" she asked and refrained from rolling her eyes. "Look, I don't say you shouldn't do this but just because you are going to change your outside, it won't change the man you actually are. The big giant inside will still make an appearance. If I were you., I'd accept that fact. It will save you a lot of disappointment that is going to follow." She held the vial out.

Ariella was such a nice person even if she acted like she wasn’t. When she told him, he could have a vial, Almir knew it for sure. “Thank you so much! You’re the best, I feel super safe knowing you’re the one who brewed it,” he said with a grateful smile as he carefully tried to grab the vial. The tip of his tongue stuck out as he fully concentrated on not trying to knock everything over or crushing her hand. “Got it!” He announced his victory with a happy grin. Polyjuice didn’t work on part giants but since the shrinking potion worked on other species too, Almir was confident it’d work.
He was about to head out when he was stopped by Ariella’s words. His cheerful demeanor fell, and he felt a bit of nervous sweat on his back. “I always thought I was just the same as everyone else except bigger,” he said as he eyed the potion. Suddenly his plan didn’t seem to be water proof. “I was hoping people would see me as a person for once,” he mumbled and bit the inside of his cheek. Would people still figure it out? What if the giant genes ran so deep that there was more than just his appearance? He was stronger than he could handle, had an endurance which prevented him from participating sports because ‘it’d be unfair’ and sometimes he really didn’t get complicated things. Almir had never considered it because he didn’t share the same aggressiveness and violence as his grandma. But the few times he did really get angry…
“I’ve been trying to resist my nature, I even wax my chest hair. Do you think I can pass as pure human?” Some days Almir was proud of his heritage but at other times he was ashamed of it. He wished he didn’t have to be.

This man was beyond saving it seems. Ariella tried to explain to him the dangers and yet here he was about to become a cheerleader because he got the vial she brewed not long ago. Ariella tried to refrain from rolling her eyes in front of him, though the urge was very much present at that time. When he thanked her she wanted to tell him not to, she didn't do him any favours here but the man was so excited that Ariella doubted she'd get a word into the manchild's brain.
"Easy there Jekyll.." she said and shook her head. "Don't forget the warning I gave you." That was the last time she'd remind him of it. If only more than maybe hot iron could get through that thick skull he'd listen. She then watched him slump like a child was just told no and realized her words actually did get through. There was some surprise for sure on her face because she expected him to waltz out of her dungeon and become a toddler sized man by the end of the hallway.
"It's always easier to try and change yourself, please others with the hope of acceptance," Ariella started and sank down in her chair, it felt like a throne of sorts and it was quite comfortable. "But if you are miserable because of it, what's the point?" Ariella surely wasn't going to change to please others, her cold demeanor was a wall she put up because changing just wasn't an option. She wasn't going to sing cumbaya and make people happy when she herself was miserable as shit.
"What does it matter what I think? It matters what you think of yourself and what you want to become. If you want to be human, be human. There is no way you can be a perfect human because whether anyone likes to admit it or not, humans are just as flawed as half giants." It was like giving a lecture to her younger siblings and Ariella really did not want to appear like she gave a shit about Almir. "Is there anything else I can assist you with?"
