With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Junaid was in a frenzy. Truth to be said he had been in a frenzy since he left the refugee center behind. The usually careful Hufflepuff prefect was radiating positive and perhaps slightly chaotic energy. After setting himself free, Jun felt incredibly motivated to make it all work. This was going to be his year; he’d work hard on school, do his prefect duties, get a part time job to support himself, finally socialize with other students and for once have fun without fearing judgement. He was going to help people now more than ever. A first good step would be to make sweets for all Hufflepuff students including the new Durmstrang once to create a feeling of wholesomeness. This was one wickedly good idea but he had to admit it was a little much to handle for one person.
When he was looking for a familiar face to ask for help, he found one in the brooding form of Adrian Anderson. Although, his brooding form was technically his regular form. Still it never failed to bring a smile on Junaid’s face. Despite the other Hufflepuff being a year above him, they were of the same age. He kneeled down at the chair which the other boy was sitting on. “Adrian! How lovely that you’re here. Can you please, please help me out. I’m in need of a little help,” he pleaded the grumpy puff with big grey puppy eyes. “I’m going to bake something for all Hufflepuffs but it’s too big of a task for me alone, if you could help it’d be wonderful!” At this point his entausiamn had gotten the better part of him and he was gently pulling Adrian’s robe. “Which pastry or cookie do you like most? We can make them!”

Ever since returning to school from the Summer, things had been...awkward. He and Vinda had remained friends but despite trying to ignore most of the teenage gossip- he was aware that in pureblood circles at least, it revolved around his and Vinda's ended relationship. He was severely displeased with his, preferring to sink into the background and stay on the down-low. He'd woken up feeling uneasy, so it'd been an easy decision to stay in the Hufflepuff common room. Sure, there were a few purebloods around- Tyrells, Longbottoms and Averys, but they mostly knew to mind their own business. Adrian adjusted the way he sat, sitting more upright on the soft cushioning of the daffodil yellow armchair. A thick book sat in his lap, a herbology one that he was perusing. It was good to study ahead for classes, and Herbology was one that Adrian intrinsically understood. It didn't bore him or frustrate him high-level magic. The plants behaved as plants do, there was no ulterior motive but survival for them.
He'd noticed the approach of another person, it'd distracted him enough to hope that they'd go away. He let out a soft sigh, looking towards the crouched man. He blinked a few times as he recognised them as being Junaid, the transfer. Lovely was rarely a word used to describe Adrian's presence. He raised an eyebrow as the boy begged for Adrian to hear him out. The 7th year indicated for him to continue, noting that the masculine boy's face was cute when he was trying to gain Adrian's favour. His face grew more incredulous as he was told that Jun wanted to bake for all the Hufflepuffs. He frowned at Jun's tugging fingers, standing up so that the other Hufflepuff would let go. "I don't think one person is going to be enough." He told the other boy doubtfully, "But yes, I'll help." He crouched down to place the Herbelogy tome under the chair and then rose again.
Baking was something that Adrian enjoyed with his mother, although not very often. He looked at Junaid with consideration, "I like Spritzkuchen but Buchteln are my favourite. They are German pastries. Maybe I can make some while you try to cook for far too many people."

A big grateful smile appeared on Junaid’s face as the seventh year got up. He immediately let go as there was no point bothering him any further. He looked him over and smiled softly, Adrian had a wonderful mature gentleman glow over him. “Really? Thank you so much! You’re a savior Adrian!” He beamed with a childish glee. The doubt was completely ignored. Through the two years he had rarely seen the seventh-year smile, but he seemed like a kind person. Adrian was often on his own which made Junaid wonder if he was shy or just preferred to be on his own. Hopefully Adrian was just a quiet person. Feeling lonely was sad and Jun didn’t want that for his housemates. “It’ll be fine. Us Hufflepuffs are hard workers, the two of us will work like an entire team,” he said, fully convinced they’d make it.
He noted the Herbology book. “Oh, I do hope I don’t disturb you in your studies. I’d feel bad if that was the case.” Education was important. Jun was grateful to be given a second chance here.
The prefect’s eyes sparkled with motivation as Adrian came with suggestions. “Oh that’s right, you’re German right?” Jun was very excited to meet another person who came from another country. Even if the German culture probably was closer to the British than his own. “Where you born here? I don’t notice an accent. Perhaps your English is just so good.” Junaid was distracted as his mind was doing several things at once. “Back to the cookies. Can you please teach me how to make Buch- ehm.. I’m going to absolutely butcher that one. But I’d love to learn pastries from Germany. When I graduate I want to open a restaurant or a tearoom with food from all over the world. Everything I can learn now saves time in the future.”

Adrian felt a little uncomfortable with the gratitude of the other boy, his face twisting into a grimace-like smile. He didn't believe Jun that they'd succeed in their task, but he didn't bother insisting otherwise. Some kids got things in their heads and wouldn't let it go. Adrian didn't care enough to correct him about working hard enough to be as good as a team. He didn't particularly like working in a large group, and if he continued to be a nay-sayer, they might end up with people Adrian did not want to be around.
He brushed off the apology, "I was just reading ahead. It's fine." before nodding in answer to Junaid's question about his nationality. "Yes, I'm German, I have dual citizenship because I lived there until I was 10. My mother, who is English, made sure that I could speak it well and without an accent." For the first few years at Hogwarts, Adrian had made a considerable effort not to sound German so now his English was almost perfect. He spoke most like his mother, but it would be hard to tell where he was from just by listening to his voice.
"Buchteln, it comes from Austria. It's a soft bun with jam in it. I can teach you, but I can't assure you that they will be amazing." He blinked a few times as he processed the information about the other Hufflepuff wanting to open a restaurant or tearoom. "That is a good ambition. British wizarding cuisine needs more variety." He indicated to the door, "No time to waste then?"

It was a relief to hear he didn’t disturb the other Puff. This would be a grand plan, Jun was looking forward to baking with Adrian. Even if they didn’t succeed, it was the thought that counted. The prefect was amazed by Adrian’s double nationality. “Woah, that’s amazing!” Jun had been so excited to become English himself, but he screwed up the process by running away from the center. Perhaps there was still hope, marriage could solve the problem. What a great combination finding a life partner and getting to live safe in England together. Then again, he had no idea if that might ever happen now, he wasn’t particularly good with the British flirt system. Back at home parents would arrange everything.
“German actually sounds a little bit like my language, it’s still totally different. But you use the same writing as the English language. It’s fascinating.” The description of the pastry had his eyes sparkling. They sounded delicious. “I’d love that! They don’t have to be great right away, practice makes perfect!” He cheered clapping his hands together. Hearing someone be positive about his future, Junaid grew a lot more optimistic about the future. Perhaps he could make it work. “Yes! Let’s get baking!!” He led the way to the kitchens and greeted the elves that were present. They were given some space to work at. “Alright, Adrian. What do we need for the buchbuch.” ADRIAN ANDERSON,
