With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Scarlett was very far along, so far that she had to skip certain classes claiming that she caught a cold and was in desperate need of fresh air rather than being in the dungeons while healers and professors came to check up on her. The brunette arched her brow for a moment when she spotted her best friend coming her way. Sure, she expected Nadya to be around but also to be in class.
Scar groaned a bit as she shifted, her hand on her belly for a moment. Thank god the charm didn't wear off. "Good afternoon." she greeted her friend with the kindest of smiles she could manage while being in absolute agony and pain at the moment. Every move made her either want to pee or pray the baby would plop out because fuck it took forever now.
"I assume you are done with your classes?" she asked her with a curious tone to her voice and her hand patting on the bench beside her.

Just a few more weeks, and Nadya would be done. Only a few more classes, then exams, and then she'd never have to return to the castle again if she didn't want to. And truly, the only reason she could think of was if her little sister needed her--but seeing as the professors seemed just as intent at keeping people out as they did keeping them in, there was very little chance of that happening.
At least the thought of it being almost over cheered her, added the slightest of bounce to her step as she left her last class of the day. Scarlett hadn't been there today, which made it a pleasant surprise when she saw her best friend sitting in the hallway instead of in her bed in the dungeons.
"Done for the day. Almost done entirely. I'd have skipped with you, but it seems the professors aren't too happy with the number of classes I've missed this year. They keep saying I'll miss something important." The wry smile on Nadya's face showed what she thought of that. It felt like everything truly important she'd learned this year hadn't been in class.
Including, of course, what she'd heard from the Divination professor, and it gave her the urge to put her arm around her best friend protectively as she sat next to her on the bench. "I can't wait until I don't have to worry about us being stuck here anymore."

Classes in a way made Scarlett know the things she knows now but they also seemed to prevent her from living the life she knew she was going to be living. The life away from her parents, the life where she was carrying their grandchild and they didn't even know it. The mere thought of her father coming after her was bizarre and Scarlett had a plan. She was going to take everything she could, give some of her desired inheritance to her brother to keep it safe for her.
No one could stop her from becoming the woman she wanted to be. The brunette though knew she wasn't the only one wanting to get the hell out of here. "Soon we will both be free." she stated, her voice calm. Scarlett didn't need to show her fears to her best friend, they were not hers to know. As pregnant as she was, Scarlett tried to remain elegant and cocked her head a little when Nadya sat beside her. "Your worries are going to get the best of you." Scarlett spoke with slight concern.
"Where are you going to go? I know we talked a lot about our futures but we never discussed the logical fact that we'd be very much apart from each other." she said softly, Scarlett's expression turning slightly softer. "I know this place isn't perfect but it did give me a friend I can trust." Scarlett gave Nadya a smile and patted her knee.

The future. How Nadya wished she could be as confident about that as she was happy about finally leaving school. If Scarlett had asked a few months ago, perhaps her eyes would have sparkled as she laid out her plans for working as a healer, for meeting those who'd been bitten so that she could help them later. As it was, though--the number of things that stood in the way of that had piled up. No longer could those who had been bitten even be treated there--and then she was not certain, with the Creature Refusal Act, that she'd be able to be employed there forever anyway. Exam scores were a problem, too, but that was something she was not yet ready to give up on. She'd figure out then if she would be able to be a healer.
And then there was the prophecy.
If Nadya was right--and how could she not be? She'd read the latest papers, she knew who it was who wanted Teddy dead--whatever she did, she needed to stay with Scarlett, for the summer at the very least.
"I'm still planning on St. Mungo's, for the time being," she said. "I won't know if I have the N.E.W.T. scores to be a healer until they send them out in the summer, but I've been thinking. There's a tea and gift shop in the hospital--I'm putting in my application. If there's anything I know I can do, it's spend all day with tea and flowers."
She bit her lip, scanning the hall to see if anyone else was around, anyone who would listen in on them, anyone like Grimblehawk. Not seeing any immediate danger, Nadya lowered her voice to a whisper, leaning in to Scarlett. "So if you're planning to have the baby at the hospital--I'll be there. In case of anything."
