With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

(Left on Jack's desk after a DADA lesson.)
I told you! I told you and you said not to worry! And look where we are! At this rate by the time I'm done they won't just not serve me, they won't hire me either!
I'm giving every professor in this godforsaken place two weeks to convince me not to leave. A single good reason, and I'll stay.
Firstly, I don't recall telling you not to worry. I said I'd keep an ear out for any news, and I was completely blindsided. But my point still stands that veelas are less discriminated against than other creatures and therefore less likely not to be given service. Nadya, I understand that you're worried but jumping to conclusions of possible unemployment in the future is rash.
You're of age, and I cannot stop you from leaving however I think you will regret not graduating in the future. If you're worried about possible unemployment then you should know that you are less likely to gain it in the first place without your NEWTs.
Regards, Professor O'Connor

Oh, it's because we're pretty. I see how it is, I know how people think. Never mind everyone else who's being mistreated. I'm pretty so it's all okay. So I'll be fine while--what else will happen? Alana kicked out of school next? Almir fired?
Forgive me for being doubtful of an institution that allows these sorts of things. All the professors seem to say the same thing. Do you have some sort of script that you read, or do you all really believe it?
Don't tell Papa if I do leave. He'll never let me hear the end of it.
No. That's not why, nor is that what I said. Society views veelas as a lot less dangerous because most have never seen them transform when they're angry, and because they're not known as being as vicious as magical creatures.
Let me be clear: Hogwarts does not and cannot control the Ministry of Magic. I can't change legislation. We have to obey it, no matter how much the Professor's may or may not agree with what's being brought in.
I have to tell your father if you leave. You're under my duty of care.

Society's going to see this veela transform sooner or later if it keeps going down this path.
I haven't been in History of Magic for a few years, so perhaps I'm remembering wrong, but didn't Dumbledore stand up to the Ministry the last time they were wrong? If he could, what's stopping McGonagall? That's right, nothing. I hate her.
I've made my decision, I think. You'll see what it is later.
