With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?

Wandering into the Great Hall, Astrid had her long braids half-tied up in a knot atop her head, and she wore a smile on her face. She was excited, after all, to start teaching tomorrow morning now that all of the students had returned to Hogwarts. She just hoped that she wouldn't face too much ridicule from the staff, as she knew that divination was seen as a 'weak' subject, often dismissed as being useless. But to her, it most certainly wasn't.
Taking her seat next to one of the professor, a quite petite one by the looks of it, Astrid struck her hand out towards her. "I'm Astrid, it's nice to meet you, man," she said, grinning. Her eyes surveyed the food sitting in front of her. There was a lot of meat which definitely wasn't her deal, but the beans, legumes, and vegetables? Definitely her deal, and they looked killer. "House elves have done a good job, haven't they? I've always admired their efforts to put out a good spread! Must've taken them a while to feed so many kids, hey?"

The calmth before the storm. Dinner was like the peaceful moment before the hellish hours of teaching little apes about the science of potions the next morning and Ariella just needed some well deserved wine and food inside of her before heading back to the dungeons. Being in the dungeons was beyond grossing her out. She hated being located there as a student and even more now as a professor. Though with some charm work she made her office more livable.
The brunette arched her brow slightly when a new person sat down beside her. She didn't mind colleagues sitting with her she did however mind it when they opened their mouth and nonsense came out. Ariella looked at the woman in confusion. Man? Did she call her a man? Was she blind as well? Ariella slowly took her hand and shook it.
"Ariella Tyrell." she said shortly not really sure how to respond to being called a man aside from being insulted. "I wouldn't know. At my house the cook is an actual person." she said and eyed the food for a moment. She was used for so long to be fed here she never thought about the elves. "I never really thought about it like that I must admit." she said and looked at the other woman.
"Are you not a fan of meat? I am not a fan of regular juice so they give me wine." she said and nodded at her glass. "Trust me, they'll know if you just ask them I'm sure." she said and shrugged. Ariella took a bite of her steak.

When the tiny brunette's response was to arch a brow at her, Astrid merely shrugged it off. Maybe this woman just had resting bitch face... who knew? She didn't know her well enough, and Astrid wasn't in the habit of judging a book by her cover. "Do you always introduce yourself by your full name?" she teased, voice light and airy. But then Ariella was talking about her own cook and Astrid blinked for a moment because whilst at Hogwarts house elves and having food cooked for you were kind of a given, she'd never thought it was necessary to employ one yourself. "It's nice they give us this food, but I think if I could... I'd definitely cook it myself. I think it's important to know how to do things yourself, and cooking's a peaceful distraction from people's busy lives. It's good to have time to yourself."
They gave her... wine? "I enjoy a good glass or two myself but not on the clock... I'm surprised they let you drink alcohol at work," she said, ignoring the mouthful of meat the other woman was having. Seeing other people eat it? It didn't skive her out - most people thought it did, but her whole family ate meat as did her cats. She, personally, didn't like the thought of consuming something that was once alive, knowing that animals had been hunted and killed for the purpose of being eaten. It just didn't sit right with her and didn't align with her own morals. "I haven't touched meat since I was thirteen but man, if those beans don't look delicious. Can't go wrong there."
Leaning over, Astrid served herself up a great big scoop of them, as well as some rice and vegetables until her plate was chock full. Sending the other professor a playful wink, she said, "Don't worry. I'm not one of those vegetarians that'll scream 'meat is murder' at you. Otherwise I would have been murdered by my dad a long time ago."
