With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
I will tiptoe down that line but I will feel unstable
Felix had watched people respond to the werewolf discussion and frowned. What was the bloody point to this? Was he going to try and cause a debate because defense against the dark arts didn't sound like a class about politics and the useless arguements politicians had over stupid reasons no one gave a shit about. Felix was about to scoff and then spotted his friend who sat down next to him.
"Hey sparky." he said with a slight smile and shook his head when she said he looked sour. "I am trying to think about the point of all this." he whispered to her and sat back in his chair.

This class was quite the exciting one. Surely the wolf subject wasn't the best one and Clary was seated near her friends and watched the scenes unfold. The poor professor was just asking a normal question and everyone ended up blowing up like balloons. Someone's face even reminded her a bit of a balloon.
Clarissa waved at Viola when she spotted her and then eyed the professor.
“Tsk...” The Slytherin crossed his arms when the teacher told him he couldn’t leave yet. Talk about being a hypocrite. Say one thing and then take it back. “Fine,” he grumbled and waited without going back to his seat. He chuckled a little at Potter’s rant. Their fathers might have been enemies but at least the sons could agree on things. It was very amusing to see their teacher struggle.
Meanwhile he focussed his attention back on the little Puff. “Yeah well. I wouldn’t say know-know him. We met at the bar in my street,” he explained. It was best to leave the fact that he advised the older brother to join his brother’s pack, aside. “We talked. He mentioned you and your sister a lot,” he then added. When people started talking, Dio took it as his cue. “Yo, we’ve started. I suppose we can leave now,” he grinned and took his pack of cigarettes from his pocket. Tapping the Hufflepuff’s shoulder, he suggested they’d get their move on.
The Slytherin was only stopped, hearing Clearwater and Wood talk shit on them. Now was the point where he had to decide if he was going full in or man up and leave. With a deep sigh he left, just giving a quick flip off from behind. Aww yiss, free skipping without getting in trouble. He was going to enjoy the late autumn breeze in the company of a cigarette. Oh and Dalas little ginger brother. This would be an interesting experiment.
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Dallas was way too young to be at a bar--at least still a year too young, by wizarding standards--but Skylar knew that his brother did what he had to do now to survive. It was nice to hear that Dallas was talking about him even to Dio, who Skylar barely knew, though it did make him feel a bit bad for all the fear he harbored regarding his brother. Clearly Dallas missed him a lot, even if he lived an entirely different and dangerous life now.
Skylar eyed the pack of cigarettes that Dio pulled out, half wanting one--he'd heard they were relaxing--and half fearing he'd humiliate himself by having a coughing fit if the older boy tried to give him one. He had never smoked one before, and, he admitted to himself, he didn't really know how. Still, anything to get out of that classroom, where he knew that no matter which way the debate turned, he wouldn't be able to bear listening to it. He didn't want to hear anyone hating werewolves and calling them beasts and scum, and yet he didn't want to hear anyone excusing them either, for how much pain and trouble they'd caused...
Resolving to ignore the professor this time, since he had said they could step out sometime after all, he followed Dio out of the classroom, not looking at any of his other classmates as he left.

As a student, Flora Selwyn, finally answered the question that Jack had posed, his eyes turned to her and relief washed over his face. Finally, he would be able to get this class back on track. "Thank you for answering, Miss Selwyn. Ten points to Slytherin. To clarify, wolfsbane allows werewolves to keep their mind during their transformation, meaning they are not dangerous. But for wolfsbane to work, it must be consumed daily every day for a week before the full moon."
Roxanne Weasley was the next to speak up, and Jack nodded curtly towards her as well. "Also correct, Miss Weasley, although it is important to remember that a select few werewolves in their human form can and will attack. But you most certainly are right, not all of them will and those attacked will not be turned into werewolves," Jack said. "Your housemates can thank you, because you just gained the points lost before and more. Ten points for Gryffindor."
Agnes Clearwater brought the topic back towards wolfsbane, making an good point about how expensive the potion was and how the legislation that kept getting built upon was driving werewolves further into poverty. "Five points to Gryffindor, Miss Clearwater," Jack told her, before his eyes darted to Evan Wood who added onto her statement. "Unfortunately, wolfsbane is very expensive and difficult to make. It would cost too much money, according to the Ministry... but you're right. They do retain their humanity if they are able to afford wolfsbane. It's just that majority cannot. Another five points to Gryffindor." He couldn't even afford wolfsbane for his sister despite being the Deputy Headmaster. If he could, he would gladly purchase it for his sister. But the price was astronomically high.
Out of the corner of his eye, Jack saw Skylar and Dio slip out of his classroom, making a mental note to talk to both of them later. Had he said they could leave if they need a breather? Yes, but he had also told them and the rest of the class to ask before taking a break. They had clearly forgotten that, only focusing on his last words. But... he wasn't going to chase them out the door, instead wanting to focus his attention on those who were participating.
"Now. Who can tell me what they know about infection?" he asked, addressing the whole class once again and wondering who knew exactly how a werewolf was infected. What were some of the myths surrounding that topic? He knew, of course, but he wanted to gauge their knowledge and for this to be an open discussion. It would be quite a boring class if he just spoke at his students, instead of confirming or denying what the information they shared and adding onto it.

Werewolves were a sore subject and though Ollie wasn't one to judge she knew why people had their opinions about it and why they were so diverse. There were many hurt by the existence of werewolves where others had no problems with it. Ollie just took Parker's hand knowing this was a sore subject for her best friend and just squeezed it gently.
"Don't listen to them.." she whispered and rested her head on Parker's shoulder. She just wanted this class to be over with and while people answered as fast as they could Ollie was interested in the next question.
"I studied some of it in the healing books, I know a wolf infects with it's bite while their scratch only gives you wolf like symptoms but can easily be treated with powdered silver and dittany, sir." she said and lowered her free hand.
She really wanted to be a healer someday and help people.
TAlexander was running late. He'd taken a wrong turn somewhere on the stairs- and after five years at the school and all the prefect rounds he'd been doing recently- he still hadn't gotten the layout memorised. His cheeks were flushed, and his heart was pounding as he rushed down the halls. This is what he got for sleeping in late, although it hadn't been intentional! He'd rushed his breakfast but everyone had left by the time he was done. Usually, he was just a tad late, but at this point, he was more than just a tad. His eyes lit up upon seeing Dio, relieved for the first time to see the Slytherin, before narrowing in confusion as the boy walked the other way than the class. He decided against calling out, instead, sliding in the door. He furrowed his brow as he caught the end of the conversation about Wolfsbane, and his shoulders tensed as his eyes flicked up to the board where it had written what the topic of the conversation was.
"Sorry I'm late sir. I uh I don't have an excuse, I just overslept." He glanced around the room, looking for a vacant seat. "I don't know if this has been said yet, but werewolves can't even transmit it genetically so there's no reason not to pursue someone if they get turned into a werewolf. Or even pursue a relationship with a person who already has been infected. You aren't going to make werewolf babies anyway." He sat down, pulling his bag up onto his desk so he could take out his book and ink. "Seriously, it's one night a month and if they have contained themselves properly there is literally nothing to fear." He then looked up at the Deputy Headmaster with a pious smile.
When Professor O'Conner brought up what today lesson would entail, the witch rolled her eyes. Even if she didn't hold anything against them. Because they were human just as much as an animal. She knew that bad werewolves always made things hard. But she also didn't feel like dealing with the privileged kids who think that the only good race was witches and wizards.
The witch sat back as she listened to everyone, just trying to roll her eyes. Even if she found no use for half of them, and just wished they Professor O'Connor would discuss a better subject then werewolves. Since it was one of the worst subjects one could teach about.
She just sat in the class and listened to everyone talk and when it came to asking a question about the infection, the witch thought she could chime in.
But she decided not to after she heard Olivia Jones explanation, because she knew it wasn't worth it. She just hoped this class wouldn't be horrible.
The first person to answer Jack's question was Olivia Jones, a prefect who had been appointed this year. "Five points for Hufflepuff, Miss Jones. Good effort. A werewolf can only infect with it's bite during their transformation and scratches can give you werewolf symptoms, however a mixture of powdered dittany and silver only seals the wound and stops the victim from bleeding out. Unfortunately, scars will still form and be left as a reminder," Jack explained. He, himself, had a lot of scars. Like the one running across his cheek, a reminder of the Battle of Hogwarts. His back was littered with them too, another friendly reminder of his time during the war.
"Moving along..." Suddenly, the arrival of a latecomer drew Jack's attention and the man lifted his head, surprised to see that it was Alexander McCarthy. "That's five points from Ravenclaw, Mr. McCarthy. Oversleeping if not a valid reason for being late to class. If it happens again, you will be losing more points" Jack chided, although a moment later his sternness softened because Alex was answering his question and thoroughly at that. "You are correct. Like Miss Jones said, a werewolf can only transmit lycanthropy with a bite during their transformation, and having a baby born with lycanthropy is unheard of. Looks like you just gained those points back, and five more as well. Though I will remind you and the rest of the class to keep their opinions as unbiased as possible. We are focusing solely on the facts."
"Now, speaking of werewolves and reproduction, who can tell me what will happen if two wolves in their transformed animal state mate?" he asked, ignoring a couple of giggles coming from some of the students.

Liam hated, hated, hated, hated, hated the topic of werewolves. There goes his sleep for the next few nights. Thanks Proff-O, Liam tried his very best not to listen. His book on the desk remained resolutely closed because even the drawn picture of a werewolf struck fear into the Hufflepuff.
Bites, scratches... Liam wrinkled his nose up as he tried to find something less upsetting to look at. His attention was caught, however, when Jack began talking about how werewolves... reproduce. What? "Ewww Prof O, yo mean t' say they do it doggy styles?" of course, Liam had no real idea what that actually meant, but the idea of the wolves gettin freaky-deaky on a full moon was far better than ripping young Hufflepuffs apart just for funsies.
maybe it is all a test/'cause i feel like i'm the worst, so i always act like i'm the best

Everyone was being so immature. Did they really need to giggle like that at the mention of reproduction? Mia-Rose had grown up on a farm and was perfectly aware that there was nothing weird about animals doing--well, what animals did. Sitting by the side of the room, having just been observing the chaos until now, she finally couldn't resist rolling her eyes a little. She couldn't wait to get into N.E.W.T. level classes, where at least people might be a little more serious about studying, since they did have to choose which subjects they wanted. She, for the record, was planning to get an Outstanding in this particular subject, as it was one of her favorites: how to deal with all manner of frightening and Dark creatures, how to beat anyone in a duel... But if she would've asked her sister about what happened in the older students' class, she might have realized that there was just as much chaos there as there was here.
Her hand shot up in the air as she wrinkled her nose at the Hufflepuff whose entire reaction to the lesson seemed to be "eww," ready to give what she knew was the real answer. "There's the possibility of having wolf pups," she said, her voice perfectly calm, as if she was talking about the weather. "They're not werewolves, but real wolves. Just as werewolves in their human form have human children."
Werewolves! It would be like saying to a muggle student: Hey let’s learn about dogs! Being born and raised in the wizardry world, werewolves were something you knew about – just like vampires, goblins, unicorns and other creatures. Surely, the professor could come with some interesting facts, but Mark remembered how he had skipped a few pages in the introduction about the new chapter, just because he already knew about werewolves.
As usual, he sat in the back of the class, not caring to answer any of the questions or harvest points for his house. He let other Slytherins do that. Like for example a perfectly fine girl, Mia-Rose who answered a question about what will happen when werewolves reproduced in their wolf form. Well, that was a disgusting fact, considering that you then would have a puppy most of the time and a “child” a few days of the month where you had your wolf form.
He could not help to send Dio Greyback a glance before eyeing James Potter thinking that the guy should start a werewolf support group. He admired his passion for puppies – even those who bit, but standing up to the professor like that seemed rather foolish. Well, it appeared that the professor agreed with Mark. The boy snorted when the man deducted points from Gryffindor.
“So, would you want a werewolf puppy?” He then whispered to his beautiful Mia-Rose with flaming red hair who he loved to bitch about other students with.
Damien definitely was pissed when he learned about them discussing werewolves. Because he didn't see anything against them, but he knew the bulk of his classmates weren't fans. And he didn't want to get into fights with kids who already were weery of him. The Hufflepuff sat back in his seat.
He sighed and when Professor O'Connor brought up the the question about how the reproduce. And then one of his classmates had mentioned they could produce actual werewolf pups, and he decided to ask.
"What happens to those pups? Are they just abandoned because of their parents having a human form?" he asked hoping for answer.

Notes: We can try be involved.
Mariah was listening everyone who did spoke up there now and the girl was even taking notes there. She knew some stuff about werewolves by now but she wasn't around when attacks had been happen. Anyways she didn't let any of this information scare her. Then again she never was really scared about much things, just letting people close, that was something she just feared.
She loved the Damien question since she was curious about it now too when she heard that there might be wolf pups if they do it in the werewolf form. She had no clue what will happen with those pups. Didn't seem like humans can raise them. "Maybe those humans try raise them? Or is that too dangerous?" the girl asked there now all of sudden. She figured she should try be involved too.

werewolf discussions made brayden feel a certain way, he didn't dislike them, it wasn't their fault that they became one, though sharing his opinions may lead to him being questioned by his peers and he certainly didn't want that, being labeled a werewolf sympathiser wasn't on his to-do list. though that didn't seem to be a problem when the word reproduce was mentioned, that certainly got his attention, he had never thought of two people in wolf form mating, though the idea crossing his mind on a normal day would never occur, he had other things to think about.
after hearing mariah's question, brayden decided to join in the conversation, "i wouldn't say it's impossible, it's probably just harder, you hear stories about feral children who can't integrate back into society, it couldn't be much different compared to that. if a wolf is brought up with humans it could most likely be domesticated and taught the way the parents want, though if it's abandoned it will probably learn on its own."
