With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
"Al!" Runa hollered, throwing her arms in the air in frustration and stalking off towards where she suspected her friend to be. "I swear, I will strangle you with your own beard if the nifflers break out one more time!" She wasn't even sure if the giant could hear her but she needed to give voice to her frustration anyway. Those blasted animals had, for some reason only known to themselves, started digging up the tree she had just planted a week ago. And it was a wandwood tree at that! Well, at least they had not considered the place where she had planted the gurdyroots a diving pool, for which she had to be grateful, she supposed. Or had they…? She had not yet actually seen the beasts… Runa started to walk faster towards the hut and her vegetable patch. "You're one lucky bastard. They didn't get to the roots!" she called loudly, quite obviously furious. Where was that man? She had now reached the backdoor of the hut but could not see him.

Almir knew he was into some big trouble for more than one reasons. Ever since he had the honour to meet old Mr. Newton Scamander, a young Almir had been inspired by the portable world in a briefcase. Which was wonderful as he could have a own little sanctuary where he could bring beasts animals and creatures he found and nurse them back to health. Often they were released in wild again but sometimes he had to bring them over to a larger sanctuary in Sweden.
Today the nifflers had broken out again, they were intelligent little creatures, cheeky fellows. Almir adored them so much. But they also could be a pain in the arse. He’d tried his very best to catch them and cover up the traces but he was literally stuck in a nasty situation. One of the nifflers had tried to escape through the small bathroom window. The quarter giant had somehow managed to squeeze his arm and shoulder through it and catch the albino niffler. He held the little creature gently in his hand and tried to get out. “Fy, Skit,” he groaned as he seemed stuck.
When he heard Runa return, he kept quiet. His face paled and he was torn between waiting till she was gone to attempt again so she didn’t see him like this. Or should he scream for help. Meanwhile the little albino niffler was playing with a silver coin he had found somewhere.
Eventually he sighed and decided that he could possibly damage their little hut if he tried to get out on his own. “Runa, help,” he called from the bathroom. His head, arms and shoulders were outside. He got stuck around his waist as it was the slimmest point. Chest and hips were too large for the small window. How he ever got in was a miracle.
Runa stopped in her tracks when she heard Almir's call. She could only imagine what he had gotten himself into this time... "Where the hell are you?" she called back, moving towards the sound. But only a few steps onwards she could see the part giant half inside, half outside the hut - quite clearly stuck in a window. How...? Runa closed her eyes, then opened them again, eyebrows raised. Yes, he had managed to get himself stuck in their window. "Right," she commented dryly. "Do I want to know?" she asked before approaching her big friend. Carefully she took the albino niffler, which was just peeking out of his hand, into hers, cradling it gently to her chest. It wouldn't be right to punish the animal for the wrong he or his kindred had done to her tree. They could not help their nature. Al, however, could look out for them better. "You know, I'm of half a mind to just leave you hanging there for a little while longer. They almost uprooted the tree I planted for your bowtruckles, you know..." she informed him crossly while stroking the niffler's soft fur.

Almir’s big head looked like an overgrown tomato. Embarrassment was written on his face. “I would say I can explain this. However I’ll be honest with you and say I’ve got no clue how I managed to end up like this,” he admitted with a defeated sigh. If he moved too much he would certainly break the frame. Al didn’t fancy getting a window replacement ducked from his paycheck. His bright blue eyes were begging his friend for help. Upon her announcement the man gasped. “Runa please! My butt starts to itch and I cannot scratch from here,” he pouted and put up his best puppy face. He felt guilty and sad when Runa told him the little adorable bastards har uprooted her hard work. He had been so happy when she had planted the tree. “I’m sorry, they’re clever little buggers that beat me every time. I cannot win, Runa.” @runa,
Runa couldn't help but smile a tiny bit at the most urgent need her friend could not fulfil right now in the position he was in. She sighed again, then looked at the little ball of fur in her hands. "I'll have to get this little guy back into the cage first though or we'll never find him again. Or only after he uprooted the whole forest," she explained, almost a bit apologetic. And then there was still the fact that she had no idea how to help Almir get himself out of his too small prison. If he had gotten himself in, he should be able to get himself out, too.
Runa turned and quickly went to one of the spare cages that were littered about the hut they shared. There she deposited the niffler and returned to her friend. "How about I cast an engorgement charm on the window?" she mused thoughtfully.

Almir’s big puppy eyes fell into a defeated sigh. He let down his head, admitting his defeat. This man tamed dragons and was defeated by a window frame. “Take care of my son, dear friend. For I have fallen,” he called out dramatically as if he was bleeding to his death.
And so he remained until Runa returned to his rescue. “Oh Merlin yes please! I can’t reach my wand that’s in my back pocket,” he cried out. What would become of him without his bestie? @runa,
Runa just rolled her eyes at her friend's antiques, being quite used to random bursts of dramatics. The spell was simple enough and did its job well enough. Looking at her handiwork Runa half considered leaving the window at its current size. It didn't look too much out of place and might prevent Almir from getting stuck again. "There," she said, her job done. "How about we leave it like that in case this happens again?" she suggested, shrugging.
However, her mind quickly went back to the damaged caused by the nifflers. "How about you help me now set the tree right again?" If Al held the tree, she could secure it and hopefully the tree would continue to grow normally.

A small gasp left his lips when Runa enlarged the window. “Hero!” Almir called out as he climbed out. It seemed he wasn’t getting any younger these days for his back was starting to hurt. Rubbing his lower back, he walked to his dearest friend to tackle her in a hug. “You’re the best!” He chanted as he rubbed their foreheads together. Putting her back on the ground, he turned to the window. “That’s the bathroom window. We could keep it that way but I’d install a good set of curtains. I don’t want anyone creeping on me while I shower,” said the man who was half naked almost every second of the day. Almir hated shirts. Especially ones that weren’t stretchy. Those tented to rip off halfway through the day. Finding clothes in his size was a nightmare as well.
The long haired male nodded. “Yes! Give me instructions and I’ll make sure they’re carried out.” It was only normal this should be their main point of focus. “And then, dinner!”
Runa couldn't help but smile at her friend's relief once he was freed and climbed out of the window, but she only had a moment's warning before she was lifted up into a bear hug. She had seen it coming though and Almir had over the years learned to be gentle with her. She closed her eyes, relaxing when he touched his forehead to hers and brought a small hand up to his cheek to rake her fingers through his beard for a moment.
She surveyed the enlarged window for a moment when Almir complained that they had no curtains in front of the window. "As if you of all people care, storebror," Runa called her friend out and playfully punched him in the stomach where she could reach comforably. It happened rarely enough that someone came close enough to their hut to peek inside. For her part, Runa wasn't much phased by nudity and Almir wasn't the shyest guy either, but for the sake of the more conventionally raised children at the castle she supposed curtains were in order. "Fine, I'll pick some up next time I'm in the village," she conceeded. "Although we could simply hang up one of your torn shirts. Should do the job just fine..."
"I'll need to you told the tree up while I make sure it stays upright. And don't touch it where it sprouts new leaves," she instructed. It was always important to make sure Almir knew all the details or his big hands would soon be all over the place where they did more damage than good.

“I owe you, Valkyrie. Breakfast is on me tomorrow. You get to stay in bed and I’ll bring it to you. What would you like to have?” They knew both it was a huge risk to allow Almir in the kitchen alone because he had a talent for breaking plates and pans. Especially fry pans often ended up without their handle. But he’d try his best to carefully prepare breakfast with as little casualties as possible. Try being the keyword.
After he put her back on the ground, he started to look at the change in the bathroom. Almir laughed as Runa caught him on his words. “Oof, you got me,” he chuckled when she punched him.
“That is true. There is nothing on my body that a normal man doesn’t have. Except everything is bigger. I should probably turn my butt to the window. Lately I have been working out there and the result is amazing,” he said as if it was the most casual thing ever. Sadly for him he gained both fat and muscles very quickly. But when he gained muscles it didn’t mean he lost fat. Dieting only helped him with that problem. But he supposed he didn’t mind having the fat on his bum. Sitting was very comfortable.
He did nod when she agreed to get curtains. “We should be responsible teachers and not traumatise kids with seeing their teachers naked when they accidentally pass. I’ve seen a lot of them going into the forbidden forest when they’re not allowed.” Almir scratched behind his neck at the suggestion of using his shirts. “Well it’s more eco friendly to reuse. I think it’d do the trick. Why not?”
“Okay,” he nodded and studiet the tree to find the best spot to lift. Almir didn’t speak as he had to concentrate. Then he gently lifted the tree and nodded towards Runa.
