With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Maximus is a grumpy executive of the law. He will do what is right and chase those who run. In his free time he wastes his money on a wide variety of soft drugs such as alcohol and nicotine. If you need someone to bring you to justice or to turn your pleasant day of sunshine into a grey thunderstorm, Max is your man.
Friends: Due to his moody disposition he does not easily make friends and has an even harder time to trust those close to him. But if you are persistent enough and can overlook his mood swings, you will earn yourself an excellent protector. @graham (previous boss, fellow grump) @sebastian (former dorm mate, mentor and colleague)
Enemies: It does not take much to become Max's enemy. You just need to be brave enough to disturb him when he is in his own world, which is the case almost all the time. Other than that you can break the law and you will end up on his black list in a heartbeat. If you still have one.
This not so little ball of energy will be your friend in a heartbeat. He is passionate about Quidditch and at the moment he is doing his best to study hard for his NEWTs. Feel free to take him out on a flight over the Quidditch pitch or for some private talk in the locker rooms. He would never spill your secrets.
Runa is very much of a wild child, loving nature much more than people. She lives on Hogwarts grounds in a small wooden hut and mostly keeps herself busy with looking after the flora of the Forbidden Forest, the green houses and her own flower beds. She does not like human interaction but is very patient when it comes to children. If you do get her out of her shell, she can be very energetic and passionate.
Friends: It is easier to become Runa's friend when you share or at least understand her deep connection with nature. It also helps if you are willing to learn or you are a child. ALMIR VILGOT ASKELAND (lives with him and has known him since childhood, they're closer than siblings)
Enemies: Runa will dislike you when you force your company on her. But if you dare to disrespect flora or fauna in her presence, she will turn into a fury and you will be lucky if you escape her claws.
Other:
Oscar Hastings
Slytherin fifth year • fifteen • Halfblood
Oscar is someone who will try to get into your good books if there's something in it for him and is pretty good at flattery. But you can also hit him up if you want to get in a fight. He recently reconnected with his girlfriend and is over the moon about it. If you want to meet this little Romeo, don't be shy - because he's not.
Friends: Oscar likes being friends with popular and influential people, but if he for some reason gained a friend who is on the weaker side, he will protect the person sometimes rather aggressively. He cares about those close to him. OLIVIA JONES (because she's Parker's friend)
Enemy: If you threaten him or his friends, he will fight. Maybe not always with his fists, but he will find ways to wile that person down. He doesn't like those who impose their will on him. OZZY TYRELL and the rest of Parker's family
Felicity is a little whirlwind who can at times be a bit hard to control. She is easily excitable and will share whatever she is told, so better not tell her any secrets. She's an orphan and was raised by auror and substitute dad DEREK VAN LEEUWEN . If you need someone to spice up a boring thread with some annoying, childish energy, Felicity is ready to jump in.
Friends: Felicity is currently looking for friends who share her love for gossip and magic.
Enemies: None so far
Other: Felicity will willingly share any information she might have picked up from her foster father, who hears quite a lot at the ministry.
@maximus and @sebastian would have been working together for a few years before Seb left, maybe they could still be friends? They also would have dorm mates when in school, but that wouldn't really be relevant at this age. Seb is pretty friendly and persistent, it wouldn't be out of character for him to befriend Max! I'd love if they could just have a friendly interaction, maybe when Seb and Graham become closer, and they could have a pub crawl with him haha.
I don't have any specific ideas about Leo, but I think he's pretty cool and would get along with ALEXANDER McCARTHY !
Hi, so the only person I have around Max's age is JACK O'CONNOR however I do think Jack would quite like him as they could both be considered grumps. Jack is very opinionated when it comes to werewolf rights however, so that may cause some tension if it ever comes out. Otherwise, perhaps they could run into each other at a bar and have some drinks?
@leo - I have GRACE LONGBOTTOM and we're already threading the two together but possibly future friends? I feel once she gets past her nerves, she'd really like to be friends with him since he's such a nice guy.
@runa - sooo GRACE LONGBOTTOM is quite good at Herbology and I feel as though she'd look up to Runa as a teacher. AGNES CLEARWATER views Herbology as a waste of her time, however is a bit of a know-it-all so will still actively participate in class. GREYSON AVERY hates Herbology sooo will likely disrupt her class out of boredom, it remains to be seen. VIOLA ROSALINE is average at Herbology but will be her usual perky, distracted self and will want to draw all the plants!
hobbies include angsty plots and giving characters increasingly complex slavic names

Hey @leovwin,
I think NADEZHDA KAREVA + @runa might be an interesting combo! Obviously they'll see each other in Herbology class, but I could see Nadya looking for Runa outside of class just to talk about nature stuff. Or getting to know each other while working in the greenhouses, or maybe Runa finding Nadya in the Forbidden Forest?
BREE, KASIA, I imagine that 7 greenhouses is a lot of work so I think it would make sense for Runa to ask the more eager students to help her outside of lessons to care for the plants. If you want, we can have a thread together with a group of students, or 1 on 1 threads, whatever you prefer. Feel free to start a thread or let me know and I can drop Runa in the green houses for one of the students.
