With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Being in the class her sister taught made her want to skip, but she knew damn well she'd get a lecture later on and she didn't want that. So she had decided to take a seat near the front, her eyes on her sister, or well, in this case, professor. The girl had remained silent as she listened to her classmates speak of what was in the Cauldrons, and she had taken notes for the time being. If she had to partner up, she knew she did not want to be partners with her ex, who had spoken up last. Last thing Professor Tyrell needed was a bloodbath.
A tiny sigh had left Parker as she had sat back in her seat, arms crossed, eyes on the Professor. Why did their father have her sister work there? What were his plans?

Ariella rose an eyebrow as the Hufflepuff answered her question.. sort of. The woman rolled her eyes and motioned for the Hufflepuff to have a seat. "It won't make your hair fall out as long as you are not foolish enough to drink the potion but 5 points to Hufflepuff for trying." she said and turned to Oscar who came forward for the next potion.
"Exactly, 10 points to Slytherin." Thank god there were brains present. "In this class you will brew each of these potions. I expect by the end of the class that you will all have the perfect potion, just follow the instructions on the blackboard and the ones in your books and you should be fine." she said and sighed for a moment.
"Partner up and don't take too long.. You have ten minutes."
Potions was scary so far and Gem was a bit nervous. She just wrote notes about everything and when it was time to partner up she reached for Charlie's hand. "Be my partner?" she asked with a blush on her cheeks and a smile on her face. She would love to have her as her partner after all. Gem wasn't bad at potions, just baking cookies so this would be fun!

As soon as Ariella told them to partner up, Parker had stood up and headed straight for her best friend, letting out a huff. There was no way in hell she was going to partner up with her ex. "Looks like you and me, Jones." she had said with a wink before sitting in her lap as if she owned the place. Maybe she did, she didn't care that her sister would probably judge. "You're stuck with me..." she sent Oscar a cold glare.
At least Ariella might be glad that Parker didn't pick her ex.
Roxanne was a little miffed when the third-year girl turned away from her, starting to scribble notes to someone else, until she saw her holding hands with the girl she was passing notes to. Fine, she supposed, she couldn't really blame them for wanting to be together if it was like that, though this did leave her without a partner when the professor inevitably asked them to pair up. She looked around the room, searching for someone who hadn't already grabbed a friend. Some of her own friends had to be in the class somewhere, though where they were sitting, she hadn't paid attention. Her eyes scanned over several of her classmates before landing on one of the Ravenclaws in her year, the House she trusted more than any other not to mess up the potions--even if she was certain that Professor Tyrell favored Slytherins. Why else would she be giving so many points to the snakes?
"Ari! Want to be partners?" Roxanne called over, leaning back slightly in her seat to look over at the other girl. She hoped Arielle wouldn't mind working with her. None of these potions were the easiest, but Roxanne liked to think she was capable of making them, at least well enough for a good grade.
Mariah listened to what was going on around her and was taking even some notes to herself. So she could remember these things later. When she heard that they should partner up then the girl wasn't even sure who she should ask since she barely knew any of these people here. She did talk with people but she was never close to anyone. So it was very hard to choose the partner for her. The took a deep breath and walked over someone, who didn't seem to have a partner.
"Excuse me, Would you like to be my partner for this class?" she asked as polite the girl could awhile tabbing at his shoulder. It was a boy who was the same house as for sure but might have been a year older since the girl has seen him around the common room before but she didn't really know his name right away. She barely remembered people names with who she barely speaks.
For crying out loud! He must have been sleeping with his eyes open, because the class had suddenly moved on, and Willow had barely caught whatever they had been talking about before. Apparently, the students have already identified whatever had been in those cauldrons, and the professor now wanted them to work on each of these potions. Really? This was a lot, and Willow felt suddenly very lost. As he waddled around in his down dismay of having to do so much, his classmates have already paired up, leaving him facing Grimstone for a moment.
Hell freaking no!
He then quickly turned to another Slytnerin, Oscar Hastings. He seemed to be fairly better than the moron Grimstone. Willow did not know Oscar very well, and he therefore carefully approached him while scratching the back of his neck.
Ari had felt bad for Damien that he didn't exactly get the question right, but she was relieved that Professor Tyrell had given him house points, even if the lady still scared Ari. But she wasn't going to bother and she had looked around when Professor Tyrell had told them to find partners, and she was soon met with Roxanne's voice, and she turned. "Of course we can be partners, Roxanne!" she said with a smile. The girl whispered to Roxanne, and she asked. "What do you think of Professor Tyrell?" she asked hoping the lady didn't hear.
Oscar sat back down, satisfied with himself when his answer had been correct. At least he was on the right path in this class, but he did not expect it to get any easier. The order to partner up made Oscar flinch inwardly. He had always partnered up with Parker in potions. But that was no more. More out of habit than anything else, he glanced towards her for a second before looking away quickly. Hating the fact that he had to look for another partner, Oscar instead started preparing his cauldron, putting the task off until either the teacher took charge or someone else approached him. He honestly couldn't be bothered by it. However, he found that that was not entirely true when he was approached by the 'strange' Hufflepuff kid. If his looks were anything to go by, he wasn't the sanest of the lot. Oscar mustered him for a moment before answering. "You better not mess up the potion," he warned, partly trying to scare him off. "The class is difficult enough as it is without you making it worse," he said before continuing to set up what he needed on his desk.
It was always so sad when the horrible categorizing of students turned out to be right. Willow hated to be proven wrong, when he fully believed that Slytherins did not have to fit into Slytherin house, and that there was far more complexity in one’s personality than being put in a box that said: You are ambitious, cunning and resourceful. Sadly, the ambitious part shined through when he heard Oscar’s reply. Hmm, maybe he just liked potions very much?
“Well, it will not help you to speak like that to your classmates.” Willow said with a grin although arching an elegant dark eyebrow. “I will make sure not to screw up, if you make sure to speak nicely to me.”
And why did so many have to be rude to each other? After all, there was so much more to life than classes and homework. Why did everyone try to fit into the hamster wheel of today’s society? Whatever happened to forming your life the way you want rather than what everyone else expected of you? Why not focus on friendships and love instead of school and studies? Willow sighed deeply. He refused to let this boy affect his mood.
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Sigh. Skylar liked neither Potions nor their latest professor, and while he didn't feel like taking notes, he also didn't feel like actually brewing the potions they were assigned for the day. Amortentia? Really? That was going to take far more concentration than he felt like giving. He couldn't wait to get out of the dungeons and back to something he actually enjoyed--Quidditch practice, or just hanging out with friends, anything was better than being in class when he didn't want to be. His mind wandered, back to all the events of the year that did far more for his mood than Potions class did. Catching the Snitch, kissing Evan...
So when Professor Tyrell asked them all to find partners, he wasn't paying enough attention, and didn't move right away. It was only when a third-year girl tapped on his shoulder that his mind snapped back into the classroom. "Sure, I'll be your partner," he said, shrugging. He didn't know the girl, so he hoped he wouldn't regret this later--but since many of his friends had already found someone to pair with, he supposed it would be alright. It would at least be less awkward than trying to have a proper, sober conversation with Evan, right? "What's your name?" he asked, scooting his chair back so the girl could sit at the table with him.

When Professor Tyrell ordered them to find a partner quickly, a great big grin broke out across Vi's face. So it was written, so it should be... told? Wait, was that the right turn of phrase? Vi wasn't sure, but oh well. Sounded hunky dory to her! Turning to Felix and drumming her fingers on the table, Vi asked him brightly, "So, Fe! Which one d'you think we should do first? Word of warning, I'm not super duper good at potions - I mean, you probably know that since we've been in the same class for like... ever, but if you wear the bossy pants, I'll follow along!"
Mariah looked at the boy in front of her awhile she waited for him to reply to back to her. Once he did then a small smile appeared on her smile. She was glad that she didn't have to go search for the next person to be her partner again. She was quite glad that her first try was successful. She had no clue if this boy actually wanted to be partners with someone else but he seemed to be one of the people who didn't move the professor said to find the partner.
"I'm Mariah," she said with a small smile on her face. She wasn't really sure what was his too. "What's yours?" she asked back now there and moved to sit the seat next to him around the table. She figured she should sit down, the boy had scooted is sit anyways so she could sit there. She wasn't really sure how to speak with him, what was rare for him. "Are you good on potions or not?" she decided to ask before they began to do anything.
