With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
This... was a bigger change than the witch had expected. She felt like she'd somehow misused a time-turner and gone back in time several centuries; Zoe had only once encountered something similar... at a Renaissance fair down in Tasmania. Here though, the wizards weren't playing at their oldey-timey culture... here they lived and breathed it. Still, Zoe had managed to add some more modern aspects to her classroom - she'd removed the blackboard and replaced it with a whiteboard. The desks each had a pencil case that included; 2 black, 2 blue and 1 red biro with the white-out (correction fluid) in case they should make a mistake. Then also a small calculator, 2 highlighters all of various colours and a lead pencil and an eraser.
On the far wall, Zoe had opened the windows so that the light autumn breeze could pass through the classroom and was delighted by the dappling of light that came through as well. Earlier in the week, Zoe had let her two classes - the 3-5 and 6-7 cohorts - know that they would be joining together for the first couple of classes. She knew that the older students would probably groan about being with the baby thirds but she had always found that it fostered leadership qualities in the young adults.
"G'day g'day g'day!" Zoe said cheerfully as her students came tumbling into the the classroom. "I'm Professor Savage - yes, Savage by name and nature," Zoe said with a self-indulgent chuckle. "Have a seat. Quickly, quickly. I'm new here SO we're going to play an ice breaker game. Well, two, really!" Except that the second one, unbeknownst to the kiddies, was going to lead into their first week's research topic.
"Alright so please tell me your name and year, two truths and one lie about yourself. I - with hopefully the help of the other students - will try and guess the lie," Zoe said with a big grin as she sat cross-legged on her teacher's desk. "But just to show you I'm a good sport, I'll go first! My name is Zoe, I'm from New Zealand and I've jumped out of a plane at 14, 000 feet."

Muggle studies was like making sure you were tied to the real world. Mavican honestly wanted to learn as much as she could but the real world taught her so much more, she wasn't sure this new hot teacher would be able to add anything to it. Of course the teacher was hot, why wouldn't she be? What happened to the days where they were boring old hags?
Mavican was seated in a corner and licked her lips as the woman explained what she wanted to do for this class. How.. interesting.
"I'll go first." she said and grinned a bit, not getting up either. The irish girl looked her over and hummed. "I don't think you're from new Zealand but the adventurous vibe suits you." and it was quite the turn on.
"hmm." she needed to regain her control here. "I'm Mavican Jones, sixth year, I am a virgin and I'm hot for the teacher." she grinned a bit and leaned back. "Just kidding, don't go throwing the points away these nerds worked for." she sighed, this woman might be hot but she was still boring enough to be a bloody teacher.
"Alright, so Virgin and I have a loving mother." she finally said.
Zoe’s bright blue eyes turned to the young lady who had decided to sit so very far away in the corner. She noted the carnal way that the girl looked her over and unlike so many others might have, the young woman did not flinch or blush under the scrutiny. ”Wow, you’re good kiddo,” Zoe was quite surprised that she could pick her for not being a Kiwi. Most people in the U.K. struggled with the nuances in the accent.
”Let me stop you right now, Mavican. No one wants to know about your sex life in my class room, nor who you have the hots for,” Zoe said sternly, though she used air quotes where it is italicised. ”So let’s try that again with more appropriate truths and a lie. That goes for the rest of you too,” she said and waited for Mavican to go again. ”Don’t disappoint me, Mavican.”

Yep no sense of humor. God she was just like everyone else in this place, boring as hell. What happened to the 21st century in here? Mavican rolled her eyes and cocked her head. This class started to sound like a giant mistake, she really wasn't here for bloody games.
"Fine round two, get it or I quit this class." she told the professor. "After all I am here to be educated and getting the money for it is not easy for people like me." she grumbled a bit, yep she was annoyed.
"I like the color green and pumpkin juice is my favorite drink." she then crossed her arms over her chest. Two can play this game.

Muggle studies was important, especially to Ollie. She needed to know that she could live in both worlds, she already did but this school sometimes could overwhelm and make her forget about the lives her siblings lived. The blonde watched another girl go first in the class and that didn't go so well.
"Oh I think it's the first one." she offered when the professor said she needed help to pick. As for herself she had a good one.
"Mine are.. I love otters and Pineapples are tasty!"

Kaylie was seated in silence during the class. She didn't hate muggles, she loved a lot of their life choices but she wasn't really keen on the guessing game. She didn't need to get to know people to succeed in school and that is why she just sat there, playing with a lighter.
Maybe the class can end soon so she could do something useful.

Now you might wonder what a pureblood asshole is doing in a class like this. It was called escape life and drama knowing damn well no one was going to follow him here. If he succeeded at this class it would only be a bonus but this was merely his escape from everyone else.
Felix sighed as the teacher suggested a game, she was seriously not scoring points with him but he just sat and watched not giving a damn.

Muggle studies was fun! This meant so many things could be discussed but the thing she didn't really wanted to discuss is herself. She had no idea what to say in this game and just sat down beside her friend and sighed. Casey was her only friend in this place so far and she didn't want to sit alone.
"What are you going to say?" She asked her in a whisper about the game.

GAMES!
Gem loved games and she was happily bouncing in her seat waiting for her turn. She already rose her hand and really wanted to be next. She thought of two things she could say and though Ollie was next first.. she hoped to be third! Gemini was feeling like she'd over stretch her arm and just kept bouncing on her seat.
Sam wasn't fond of going first in introductions. He was far from shy, but liked to gather his thoughts before talking to a big group. Also, what could he talk about that his classmates didn't already know? He had no secrets at Hogwarts! He chuckled internally at Mavican's reply, but didn't show it on his face. That really wasn't appropriate. Especially with professor Savage being new. Way to help someone feel welcome. He sank lower in his seat, doodling some flowers on the corner of his page with one of the black biros and testing out all the the highlighters. Soon most of the new stationary was strewn over his desk.
Gemini's movement caught his eye and he laughed out loud this time, pointing at her with his pencil. "Professor, I think you'd better let Gem have a turn before she has a stroke." Yeah, he was excited to learn, but not that excited.
The perfectly preened eyebrow arched at Mavican's apathy, though the smile on Zoe's face never wavered. "Well, I'd of course be sad to see you go, but as a sixth year you obviously know what is best for your education and future," there was a level of mocking humour behind her words. "So I won't stop you, but if you do decide to stay, then your attitude needs to improve tenfold."
When Mavican told her that she liked pumpkin juice most, Zoe scrunched up her nose and laughed easily. "That has to be easy! How can anyone like pumpkin juice? So... I'm going to say you like the colour green." Zoe said confidently, then looked over to the other students. She smiled as Ollie gave her truth and lie, Zoe tapped her long, thin finger against her plump limps for a second in thought. "Oh gosh, I love pineapples so it has to be that one surely?" she said with a grin. "Don't forget to say your name... I've got old lady brain sometimes and this helps me remember you all!"
Next she looked for her participant and was not surprised to see that everyone was quite reluctant. She chuckled as Sam drew her attention towards the youngster, Gem, "we wouldn't want that now, would we? Go ahead kiddo," she prompted Gem before quickly adding, "and don't think you guys are off the hook. The longer you all take to participate the longer we hang out together because class won't end until we get through everything I had planned today. So stop making out like I'm trying to pull your teeth and get involved."

It was her turn and probably because a boy talked about her jumping. She blushed brightly and yet the smile on her face didn't leave it. She was extremely excited and ran a hand through her hair and looked at the professor.
"Okay so! My favorite pet is a bunny and my mother's name is Juliet." she said and waited for the teacher to guess. She was just having fun and honestly she did like the name Juliet.
Perhaps she once took muggle studies to spite her grandmother. But that didn’t mean she was going to slack this class. Faith was genuinely interested in the lives of other humans. When she saw the new teacher; she definitely didn’t regret this class. Merlin she didn’t mind looking at that lady for an entire year.
She wasn’t too keen on this ever introducing round but she was willing to make an exception for this lady. That said Professor Savage better live up to her name. Two truths and one lie, huh?
Faith didn’t know much about the Hufflepuff that went ahead of her. Except... “You do seem like the type to like small fluffy things. Your father and my mother did missions together. My mother helped your father track down the wolves that had killed your mother... What was her name again... Something with a C. So mo Juliet."
“My name is Faith Blair Zabini, my parents recently divorced and I collect wicked sunglasses.”
There were too many different energies, Sam couldn't keep track. The professor's energy was off putting, she was too into this. Some professors (like O'Connor) were invested in their classes and students, but in a relaxed way. This seemed just a little forced. Mavican's energy was all sexual, and way out of place in a classroom. Couldn't she keep it in her pants for one second? He had his moments, but it was an entirely new level of reckless to stand up and tell a teacher you were into them in front of a classroom.
That little Puff's energy was unlike anything Sam had ever seen. Sam was certain he'd never had that much energy in his life. Perhaps there was a reason for that. He listened to her answers, and wondered again why they'd all been shoved in together. It wasn't all bad, and the Hufflepuff girl's enthusiasm was really quite sweet. He put his hand up after Faith, and sat up straighter to say his truths and lies, "Faith, your middle name is Blair?" he queried, "I'm Sam Caverly, sixth year. I love coffee, I just moved away from home and I'm an orphan." Sometimes he wished all of those things were true.

Mavican rolled her eyes at the professor. She was really one with lack of humor and obviously couldn't see a joke from a mile away. Mavican would never purposely risk her quidditch future, not that this Australian muggle studies geek would know anything about needing a future. Mavican just leaned back and closed her eyes, silence was golden in this case wasn't it?
Others were giving their turns and Mavican just ignored every single one of them. This class was obviously useless and not going to teach her a single useful thing. Maybe she would blow off some steam with her broom at the Quidditch stadium.
Mavican played with a key in her pocket and waited for this nightmare to be over. Note to self, never make jokes in classes.
