With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Genuinely loves history and being a teacher. Wants to see his students succeed.
Generally kind and attentive, especially with younger students.
Willing to try interesting methods of teaching, and listens to students’ opinions.
Encouraging toward students.
As energetic as an Irish jig.
Negative Traits:
Very vengeful. Prone to ruminating on problems and simmering in his own anger.
Despite his naive appearance and general disposition, has a temper. This usually comes out upon mention of werewolves.
Rather messy and not observant of his surroundings.
Can sometimes ignore others when expressing his opinions, especially if he thinks he’s the expert.
Doesn’t want to admit his mistakes.
Quirks and Habits:
- Sean likes to dress for his lessons in costumes appropriate to whatever era they’re studying. He thinks it helps students stay engaged, rather than doze off out of boredom.
- He also paints oil paint portraits of historical figures for his classes. He’s still learning how to charm them so that they’d move and speak.
- Due to past events, he has a knife strapped to his leg at all times in case he ever loses his wand. If anyone ever sees it, he claims it’s just part of his costumes.
- He’s a cat person through and through, and finds dogs loud, stinky and annoying.
- Usually, his hair and clothes are a bit messy, and he has a bit of a wild look in his eyes. He’s more concerned with other things than fashion.
- He actually likes weird socks from Gladrags, and wears them both on normal and formal days.
- He is happy to see his students’ essays and grade them. Instead of just a grade at the top, there will often be comments written all over the page.
- There is a tray of sweets in his classroom, which he uses to reward students in class.
- While it isn’t the reason he learned the skill, he sometimes uses Legilimency on his students to figure out how to help them.
- He plays the fiddle and also loves to dance!
- He smokes a pipe.

HISTORY
Sean O’Keeffe was born in Dublin, to a working-class family of two half-blood wizards. At age two, the family also added his younger sister, Laoise. Both were sorted into Ravenclaw at Hogwarts, and were thick as thieves. They could often be found in the library together, just as often as they were quarreling good-naturedly in the halls.
Over time, though, Sean started to develop anxiety issues, prompting him to want to study Legilimency in order to know how people viewed him. This made Laoise want to distance herself from him, thinking her brother was going off the rails. She became angry that he was being overbearing, creating tension even after Sean left Hogwarts. Upon her own graduation, seeing that nothing had changed, she sent him to the only wizard psychologist she could find. So began a year of therapy he didn’t want, but desperately needed. Although he wasn’t too happy about it, it was also a time of self-discovery. His parents and sister sent him plenty of history books, his favorite, and he also found the time to pick up hobbies like fiddling and painting.
After he had come to grips with himself, he went back home to Dublin, finding work tutoring children before they went to Hogwarts. He took a teaching course, thinking, what better work could there be for someone like him?
His mundane and rather careless life came to an abrupt stop when the werewolf attacked.
Once, on a sunny autumn evening, when he and his sister were out on a shopping trip, the sun set before they noticed, and they were left stranded in a maze of Dublin side streets. Neither him or Laoise had gotten their Apparition licenses, so they had to find their way back to some familiar point on their own. They tried, but neither were very good with directions or maps. And on one road, a wolf took the chance to have a snack. The wolf attacked Laoise, and everything else was a blur. It was lucky for him that he had bought a new knife that day, because the next thing Sean knew, there was a bloody werewolf carcass on the ground--and his sister’s body, all torn up. He himself was up to his elbows in blood, the knife gripped tightly in his pale hand.
He grieved for a long time, and so did his parents, but they encouraged him to get out and do things rather than just mope around. From Scotland, he had heard the news of what had happened at Hogwarts, and then he heard that the History of Magic professor job was opening up.
"Alright, I wouldn't say no to a plate of canapes." Or a beef sandwich with mayonnaise. "Do you know how to summon an elf from the kitchen? I don't fancy treading all the way downstairs."
From what Wolfgang had found out, the Linwood's owned a farm and had made a fortune on sheep wool. At first he was surprised and even slightly amused, considering that Isobel looked like he'd lived in a mansion somewhere in the older parts of London all her life. Then again, he himself was a half-blood nobody who tried his hardest to be a somebody. Either she didn't know that, or she simply didn't care. Wolfgang hoped for the latter.
"That sounds exhausting." he remarked, sitting up a bit straighter. For some reason he was growing ever so slightly restless and laying motionlessly in the recliner wasn't cutting it anymore. "I've got nothing but a depressed mother and a whiny squib brother at home, so I'd still consider being here better, even if--"
He'd said too much. He cut off his sentence with a fake cough, and looked straight at her while trying to figure out a way to cover up his mistake.
