With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The Christmas holidays are here and Declan was staying at the castle. He didn't need to go home to a father who was barely there to celebrate Christmas with them anyway. Besides he needed to get away from the other bastards and just stick true to himself and the delicious Christmas cakes he could eat here. Was he sad that he couldn't be home to the luxury of his own bedroom? Yes but Ariella basically demanded they stayed in.
Declan was seated in the kitchens, his hands wrapped around one of those cakes as he heard the painting open up for the next hungry soul. "I am not sharing." he warned whoever walked in. He liked his cakes to be well... his. The boy's light eyes glared as he looked into the direction of the entrance, then he spotted the appearance of his sister and sighed.

Parker had made the choice of staying at the castle due to knowing her father was still hitting the bottle, and still blaming his eldest son for Peter’s disappearance. You’d think the old man would be more calm about the situation after finding out that Peter was indeed alive. Sure, he was one of those werewolves, but she wasn’t judging him at all. In fact, Parker loved the werewolf lore she had read, and even though she was saddened that he wasn’t able to join Hogwarts again, she was glad he was alive and apparently safe with the Young’s and Reid’s. So she wasn’t going to worry much more about her twin brother.
Parker’s stomach had grumbled when she was lying on her stomach in her dorm, reading and listening to her cat purr loudly on Olivia’s bed. After a few minutes of trying to shush her loud stomach, the Hufflepuff female had rolled herself out of her bed, and had wandered out of the dorms, and out of the common room to head for the kitchen for some snacks and a drink of pineapple juice.
It had taken her a few minutes to get there, and as soon as the painting opened, she heard her little brother’s voice and then stopped when he repeated what he had said. Her eyebrows raised as she smirked at him. ”Not even with me?” she teased and headed toward the little twerp. Her eyes were on the cakes. ”There should be more, or I’ll be hanging you upside down.”
It was not in Declan to share food. Truth be told he was very much his father's son when it came to food and he was very much reluctant to share. The boy ate from the cake as his older sister approached him and though he should probably fear her she was the nicest of the bunch as well. Something he wasn't taking lightly. The boy cocked his head for a moment and shoved the plate towards his sister.
"Just because I like you." he said and nodded as he did so. The boy got more comfortable and looked at Parker like he was demanding to have her tell him what she was doing here just by his looks but since that didn't seem to work on most people he just swallowed and cleared his throat.
"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with what's his name?" Declan didn't bother remembering names of people he cared little about. Truth be told he could care less about the dating lives of his siblings, as long as they keep him out of it he was just fine. The thought of Avery wanting to involve him with her possible relationships made Declan lose his appetite.
Parker knew people didn’t take her threats seriously, and she didn’t care. It sometimes got the job done because her last name was Tyrell. It didn’t work on her siblings, and she would never harm any of them even when it was tempting half the time. Declan was one of the youngest siblings she adored, and she would protect him even though she was sure he can handle himself. He can be a little jerk at times, but what Tyrell wasn’t? He reminded her so much of their father, and it scared her that maybe he would follow in his footsteps with the many women and children. The image made Parker shudder as she had taken a slice of cake and took a bite of it.
Goddamn, why must cake be good? Sure, she wasn’t the type to watch what she put in her body but she did enjoy eating fruits and veggies when she had the chance. ”You’re a good brother, you know that right? A brat but adorable.” she said as she ate a slice of cake when he asked her why was she there.
”My stomach wouldn’t shut up so I decided to come feed it and give it some pineapple juice.” she mentioned as she raised an eyebrow at him. ”The name is Oscar, and no. We’re doing our own things. He’s doing what he does best while I lie in bed and read a book.”
Declan knew he was very much like his father. They shared the same looks it seemed and he had seen child photos of his father, it was like looking into a mirror which was terrifying but it was true. Nonetheless that didn' make Declan his father. He actually just was Declan, a jerk sure but he was a lovable jerk? He didn't care for girls yet and he surely didn't feel like he would marry a billion of them and have bastards running around which was disgusting to say the least.
"I am not. I am just good." he said, his ego doing the talking. When she called him a brat though he frowned and refused to comment to it. "Adorable is so childish." he said and rose his eyebrow. Why was she treating him like he was five? Declan wanted to protest but he watched her eat the cake like it was... well we shall leave that thought up to the readers and it made the boy think twice about eating more of his own.
"Pineapple is so gross, how can you even process that stuff?" he asked, making a face as a glass of pineapple juice appeared on the table for Parker. Those elves. It made Declan sigh but then a glass of orange juice appeared for him and he smiled. Now that's better. "Oh right, Oscar, like the dog from our neighbors." he teased and hummed. "And what is his thing? I rarely see him about."

Sometimes Parker wanted to hang some of her brother’s upside down, and let nature take its course. But that’s what most sisters thought about doing to their little brothers, and this was no different. They might be rich, powerful family but they shouldn’t let it run through their heads. The powerful side wasn’t always going to bail them out of trouble, and Parker knew that well because their father would always make sure his children were treated with respect and have some special treatments. But if they got into trouble with the law, Samuel Tyrell will make sure they had the best lawyers money can buy them. Luckily, that never happened because if any of his children were arrested, the child wouldn’t be attending school at that very moment or be teaching.
There was a grin on Parker’s face when the pineapple juice appeared on the counter before her, and she had grabbed the cup with a hum, taking a sip. Okay, so judge her all you want, nothing was going to come between Parker and her love for this juice. ”Well, it’s good for one.” she said and downed the cup, putting it down and eyed it as it was refilled.
”Why the sudden interest in knowing what my boyfriend does in his spare time? Did father put you up to it? Ozzy?” she asked, looking at the little brat..
Being rich and powerful didn't mean he always got away with things, Declan knew that. That didn't mean that he wasn't going to try either though and he was surely doing just that. With a small frown Declan rolled his shoulders into a shrug, he didn't care for pineapple, it was gross and he wouldn't want to touch it for the life of him.
"If you say so, I ain't touch that with a single fiber of my body." he said and shuddered at the thought of having to drink that stuff. With a frown he watched Parker throw suspicion at him like he was a damn spy for the rest of the bloody family. "Easy there weirdo." he hissed and made a cross with his fingers to banish the demon inside his sister.
"I am just asking because I don't need him disgracing our house." he said with a frown. "Why should I care what Ozzy or Dad thinks about him?"
Parker would have happened Declan upside the head for his comments, but she decided against it and instead just downed her pineapple juice with a happy sigh. This stuff was good, and sure, not many people liked the stuff but hey, more for her! She always had her own thing of pineapple juice at home because no one else would try to drink the stuff. They wouldn’t dare. She would laugh when they’d steal her cup and take a sip before sipping it out thinking it was something else. ”Yummy.” she said, licking her lips, wanting to taunt her baby brother.
”He won’t disgrace your house.” she said and looked at her brother with a low hum as if she didn’t believe him. ”Cause Ozzy and father both have a strong dislike toward him for many reasons. I swear, Ariella would have killed him by now if she wasn’t a professor at this school.”
Declan didn't care about people. Sometimes he wondered if his sister forgot about that when she spoke of people she knew, friends, boyfriends or even enemies. Declan just didn't give a shit. Declan had told himself those people were beneath him and they were, no matter their age. With a slightly arched brow he cocked his head to the side crossed his arms over his tiny (yet manly) chest. There was his sister, teasing him with the disgusting juice.
"Ew.." he said again and ate a cookie. "So? I don't like anyone." he said with a shrug and sighed. "If you like him you like him. Honestly you should stop caring what they think." he said and frowned. "Even what father thinks because who is he to judge when it comes choosing partners." Declan respected the man into very high regards but his choices of wives, sluts and bastard breeders was wrong, even he knew that.
"Well maybe because they see something you don't?" he suggested.
Parker raised an eyebrow at her brother as she moved to take a sip of the best juice in the whole world, and let out a happy sigh when he spoke about not liking anyone. The female couldn’t help but roll her eyes at her kid brother, moving a hand to ruffle his hair and grinned a bit. ”You gotta give people a chance, bud. One of these days you’re going to get a girlfriend. But…” she paused and eyed him for a moment. ”With that attitude I wonder how the hell you survived your first year at Hogwarts so far. And don’t say the family name because honestly, even though we have a big name, it doesn’t mean people should worship us. People will not respect you because you’re Samuel Tyrell’s son, and Ariella’s kid brother. That won’t matter.” she said and moved to steal a cookie off his plate.
The truth might sting, but it was true. Not everyone respected her family, and did she care? A little bit. But was she going to hold it against the fellow students? Probably not. It wasn’t worth the trouble anymore. If people hated her for who she is, so be it. It didn’t hurt her feelings at all, and she’d ignore them greatly.
Did Declan expect respect for who he is? Of course he bloody did. Sometimes the only way to even get respect in this place is by demanding it. He wasn't going to be taken seriously if he was being nice to everyone and get himself some lousy goodie two shoes friends with the bright and positive attitude that made him sick to his bloody stomach. No Declan was going to demand respect, Ozzy did it, his father does it. With a frown he watched his sister ruffle his hair and tried not to curse under his breath.
"Not the hair!" he said and tried to fix it, watching Parker steal a cookie. IT WAS A RUSE. Declan was going to protest hard but then Parker brought up his attitude and Declan huffed. "I don't need friends Parker." he said and frowned for a moment. "They're never real and most of these eleven year olds are fools." he said and frowned. "We're supposed to be better than them, why not show it and demand the respect we deserve?" he asked and figured that's why she was a Hufflepuff and he.. was not.
"Look at this.." Declan poked at the ring he wore, the ring she wore too. "This means something right? Only a few of us have it." he said and frowned. "We're not bastards, we're not outcasts. If the name doesn't mean anything then what are we?"

There was a tiny smirk on Parker’s face as her brother protested when she ruffled his hair, and she happily ate the cookies she had stolen from him. Of course he’d protest hard about being respected, and should be better than everyone else. Sure, it was true; they should but a lot of people didn’t respect her own sister who was a goddamn professor at this school. The female had heard some people talk about Ariella behind her back and a part of Parker wanted to fight for her, but instead she sat by and ignored them like she had been told to do so.
”Have you heard the shit people say about Ariella?” she asked, finishing off the cookie as she thought about what had been said. ”Even though they should care about who we are, some people will just walk all over you. It happened to Ozzy before he...turned into the biggest asshole. He bullied people, that’s not gaining respect. That’s putting fear, and if you try that at your age, they’ll just laugh at you.” she eyed him. ”Just don’t have a damn negative attitude around people. You need friends to survive this place.” she said softly.
Declan ran a hand through his hair. This shit seemed so obvious to others but for him it was just you know, reality. The boy was convinced that his name carried weight but it seemed like Parker disagreed. She mentioned their older sister and it made Declan frown. The boy cocked his head and frowned a bit as he let out a sigh. "Ariella inspires fear, aren't we meant to?" he didn't understand it anymore.
His eyes were on his cookies. "I don't need friends. Nobody wants to be my friend because of my name." he said softly and just looked at his hands and sat down.
"I am just another kid to them with this name, not someone special. So how will I make them see without making them see?"
Parker had eyed her baby brother for a moment, biting her own tongue as she thought about what she had done to make friends. Sure, she had made her threats and put fear in some people because she didn’t know any better. But over the years, she had turned into a girl people liked because it was her, not because she was a Tyrell. ”You are special Dec. In your own way. Just be you. Make your interests known.” she said with a tiny frown as she moved to grab another cookie from the plate.
”You’re a good kid even if you’re a pain in the ass sometimes. I do ask one favor though. Do not go the route Ozzy’s on, it might destroy you and the family name. You see how father’s disappointed in him for reasons. Don’t be like that idiot and you’ll be good.” she told her little brother, wanting to hug him but she stayed where she was at. Not everyone was a hugger.
Becoming the man he was expected to become wasn't as easy as people made it seem. He truly had a hard time becoming that man and nothing or no one seemed to be very helpful about it. Declan's family was made out of so many different souls, people with different ideals and nothing screamed more Tyrell than his father. Yet he had to deal with the fact that Declan was just a bad copy made of his father because none of the man's strength and skills seemed to have been passed on.. just the looks.
A bad copy, that's all he was. With a small frown Declan just sat there, thinking about how to live his life when he wasn't even sure who he is. "I'm really not. There is nothing special about me." he told his sister and let out a sigh. "All I wanted to be was just like dad and I can't even do that right." he told her with a sad expression on his face as the whole facade of who he pretended to be had faded. Declan was strong in the eye of another but not now, not talking about this.
"What has Ozzy done to be such a disgrace to father? He has always been kind to me even when I don't care." he said and frowned. "Did he break his trust?"
