With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The weather was surprisingly decent for mid-December with freshly fallen snow on the Quidditch pitch from the night before but not cloud in sight. The wind was only mild and the sun shone brightly over the winter wonderland; dare Alicia think that is almost brought a warmth to the morning as the professional Quidditch player, captain, coach waited for the students to file in - it was the afternoon now and she'd just had the same speech with her sixth and seventh year students. Thankfully, those that were taking her class to N.E.W.T.s level were mostly on the Quidditch team so it was a really powerful lesson - Alicia was pumped.
"It's cold out today and the sun's going to start setting near the end so let's keep the momentum up, because it will be even colder when you're in the air," Alicia said as she stood, wrapped in the warmest woolens on the market. Her long hair caught the sunshine as it played with the breeze and her hands were clasped around her broom.
"So let's get the blood pumping straight away with ten laps each - those of you on your house Quidditch teams - you need to get 15 done." The woman let gaze roll over her students, "that is in the same time as the rest of the class does their ten. So Reid, Narro, Avery, I hope you brought your A game," Alicia turned to the non-Quidditch team member students in the class. "The rest of you... make them work hard; if I hear chatter amongst you all then I will make you do it again in detention because if you have time to chat you're not working hard enough. Any Quidditch team member that gets back to me after the other students will also complete the drill in detention."
Alicia had other things planned for the lesson, of course, as evidenced by some equipment not far from where they all stood. First though, came the warm up.
Desiree had decided to take the advanced flying class even if she didn't need it that much but she knew it might come handy. She loves flying with the broom so why not learn more about it. Anyways she was standing among other students. Even she noticed that this professor was quite new here. She didn't began to question what happened with old one. She listened what was said and sighed at the lap thing. Anyways she mounted her broom when it was time and once professor said Go then fifth year Gryffindor did so. She had other choice really. She didn't want another detention on herself. So yeah she tried to do these 10 laps so fast as she could. She was quite good in her own mind but not sure if the professor thought same but then again Desiree didn't care.
Laps. Bloody... laps. They were the most boring thing on earth and Greyson's displeasure showed as he looked at this new professor up and down. Was she hot? Yeah, he guessed so, but she was also making way too big of an effort to mark her territory, try and warn them off from 'misbehaving.' She may as well have pissed on the ground, trying to assert her dominance.
With a roll of his eyes, Greyson mounted his broom before nudging his twin with his elbow. "Gonna beat your arse, Gabe," he muttered to his Hufflepuff counterpart. He'd get these laps done in no time, but hell if he was doing exercises for the rest of the lesson. Spinnet better'd have something else planned, or he'd walk straight the hell out.
Kicking off the ground, Greyson did the ten mandatory laps with ease, before coming back to Spinnet, brows raised expectedly. "What next?"

i got too many thoughts and too many problems my life's a party and i called nobody i'm a homebody i'm a homebody
brayden was more than excited to start his flying lessons again, he was hyped, he loved being in the sky, it was exhilarating, although he may not have been on the quidditch team, his excitement for the lesson left him confused as to why there was a new teacher, he hadn't seen her before - actually he had, she was a professional quidditch player last time he had seen her. but at the mention of doing laps, brayden rolled his eyes, being in the sky was one thing but going around in a circle was far too boring.
but with no reason to complain, brayden had gotten on his broom, his competitive side had gotten the best of him, having his cousin's in his classes made him want to achieve higher, though that may not have been the desired reason to achieve better, it motivated him.
after achieving his task, brayden landed on the ground safely, he'd completed the laps relatively fast, though ten laps weren't that difficult, it was more tedious and repetitive, not exactly something he was hyped up to do. "if you ask questions like that we'll get another ten laps."

Flying had always been his favorite class. But it was also the one that made the poor little Ravenclaw the most nervous. Nicolas wanted to be good at what he loved so badly that he had panic attacks when he needed to perform. This year he had failed to make it to the team once again. He looked like an utter fool. Not much different from how he looked in class. Each time he practiced alone or one on one with someone, his skills were top notch. When people were watching however…
The young Ravenclaw was mentally preparing himself for another tough class. If he didn’t love Quidditch as much as he did, he probably would’ve given up by now. Once he arrived at the field, he was taken from his state of mind. The boy’s jaw literally dropped.
“That’s Alicia Spinnet. I can’t believe it, they actually hired Alicia Spinnet,” Nicolas kept mumbling to himself once he laid eyes on their new Flying instructor. His eyes sparkled as he gazed upon the woman, he had been a fan for years. “No way, is that really her and not just a look alike?” The boy kept muttering to himself, still enchanted by his few. Should he ask for an autograph? No that's definitely weird. Speaking of weird, how many seconds had passed since he’d blinked? Nico corrected himself by looking away, a deep blush crept on his cheeks.
Laps, alright he got this. Now was his chance to impress one of his idols and look cool. Perhaps the other students would finally think he had what it took. Nicolas took a deep breath and rubbed his hands together. His eyes opened when he felt rushes of wind passing him. Oh, stuff was happening. Oh no…
Nicolas was totally out of his circle even more than usual. The curly haired boy missed the start signal. With big terrified eyes he realised he messed up once again. Hopefully nobody noticed him. As quickly as he could, he joined the group on the school provided broom he used.

Dio wished Advanced Flying was just for those who made it to the Quidditch teams. There were too many suckers in this class. This Slytherin had a lot of hate in him but two things he hated most were weaklings and failures. This new Professor was supposed to be a professional but she was way past her prime. Athletes’ careers don't last longer than their mid 30s. At least she was making these morons shut up so that was one thing.
The Slytherin kicked off and flew his rounds. Already quickly he got annoyed with little dweebs who thought they could join the class just because they liked it. Not on his watch. “Too slow, little mouse,” he spat as he passed a Ravenclaw boy with enormous hair. Before he moved on, he kicked the guy’s broom. Perhaps that’d entertain him.

Slowly but surely the young Ravenclaw stabled his broom. By now he flew decently. Perhaps he could do this and not look like a complete fool in front of his idol. Nicolas was sweating, but talked courage into himself. If he could just blend into the group of other flyers, he’d be happy.
Then it happened. Nico was too busy concentrating that he didn’t even notice the Slytherin passing him. He just felt a force hitting the front of his broom, causing his direction to suddenly change. The curly haired student slammed right into someone else. If it weren’t for that person, he certainly would have fallen. “S-sorry, sorry, sorry!” Nico sputtered his words out. His face was bright red in embarrassment. “A-are you okay?” He was super embarassed, what would they think of him now? He couldn't even stir his broom right.
