With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Lyra had been pregnant and didn't know what the hell she was going to do about being pregnant. She knew Toby was not the type of guy to be committed, but she couldn't do this alone. Her summer had spent sleeping with Toby every chance they had. To the point where she had basically spent nights with him, and now here she was pregnant and had been figuring out how to tell people about her pregnancy. But the first task was trying to tell Toby, only a few people knew about her pregnant and they were some of her friends. She had spent the past few weeks crying in her dorm, and was trying her best to convince the healers to not tell her professors about this, because she knew playing Quidditch was at risk. Since a pregnant girl couldn't play Quidditch and they promised only to keep it quiet for some time. But how she was acting watching tryouts didn't help where she had gotten sick and had to pass it off as the stomach bug. Only to find out that she was indeed pregnant, the witch was so confused.
It wasn't until a week ago she got the courage to ask Toby to meet her during her Hogsmeade weekend. Since he was working in the ministry at the moment, and they could barely see each other. Maybe if she was lucky Toby would be willing to help her. She didn't even tell Riley yet and she hoped that he wouldn't find out anytime soon. The witch had been sitting in a chair at the Three Broomsticks waiting for Toby to arrive, as she had drummed her fingers on the table.
Toby had gotten a message from Lyra to meet her at the Three Broomsticks and he thought that he would be getting some so he had no problem leaving work a little bit early to go and meet up with her. He had faked sick and didn't care what the consequences were when it came to work. As he walked into the Three Broomsticks he looked around before he spotted Lyra sitting at a table. Toby walked over to her and sat across from her. "Hey what's up? You wanted to meet here" even though when it came to conversation he wasn't a total fan of.
It wasn't long until Lyra saw Toby walk through the doors of The Three Broomsticks, and she already felt the nerves turning. Because she had no clue how the day would go. But she knew that Toby probably had no clue what the hell he was walking into. When he took a seat in front of her that she would try be casual to stark. "Yeah I wanted to meet here. I hope it's okay" she said with a smile, even if dreading this conversation. If she wasn't pregnant then she would be wanting to hang out with Toby. But if she wanted to avoid a fight, she had to be nonchalant.
Lyra decided to ask about the ministry, "Did you have work today or were you off?" she asked with an eyebrow raise. "Speaking of work, how's it going for you? And how long is it going to take until you rise up in the ranks of the ministry." she said giving him a small smile. But she thought she could reveal what her plans were, "I thought we could enjoy an afternoon together, before I got to back to the school." she said with a sigh on her face hoping to not hurt his feelings. But if she was honest sleeping together got her into her current predicament, and she was not how Toby would handle her being pregnant and the idea of being a dad.
There was something off about Lyra right now and he had no idea why. She was always down to earth and was always one to be carefree and happy, but she seemed off in a way. He didn't know how today was going to go but he wanted to make sure whatever was going on didn't effect their time since she had school and he worked for a living. "Yes it's totally fine with me, but so I can properly take off so we have more time, just warn me in advance" he honestly didn't mind coming here but he would life to have had at least maybe an extra hour or what not with her if he could.
She began talking about work to him and he let her ask her questions, he honestly didn't mind because it was normal conversation. "I actually had work today but I left early because you wanted to meet up, so I am kind of glad you chose a table practically away from prying eyes since I could be caught in any given moment" Toby teased but he was also serious. "It's going good work, I quite enjoy it when it comes down to it and as for a higher up position it'll get there. Right now I'm just a trainee since I just started a few months ago but I'll hopefully climb the ladder one day" he explained. "So how is school?" Toby asked.
The voice in the back of his head was talking and he knew he had to ask sooner rather then later. "So what did you want to talk about? You seem extremely nervous" Toby asked.
Lyra was in a way stalling to tell him, because she had a feeling this was not going to end well. But they both screwed up and now they had a consequence to pay. But she was fine with trying to please him, and she gave him a smirk. "Got it, Roger that ,but it was a spur of a moment, and I apologize if I was at all an inconvenience. " she said giving him a small sigh even if she had doubts that they're would be a next time. And a chuckle came out of her mouth, "Oh are your big bosses in their offices going to kill you. I wonder how many of them have met with their girlfriends while they were starting out." she said giving him a look even if she knew it meant a lot with him. "I am your girlfriend, right?" she asked him with a look. Even if she was a dead giveaway and she let out a sigh, before looking at him. "I am just messing you, because I love your sorry ass to pieces." she said giving him a smile.
As the two of them talked, she had been trying to do her best to break it to him the news about their screw up. But she had to keep the conversation going and she listened, "If you're enjoying it so much. You know my mother could be one of your connections, because she loved what you did for my little brother." she said giving him a smile. Even if she had no clue if it was too soon to even bring it up. "And when you climb the ladder, I'll be right here to support you. Because I would be a bad girlfriend if I wasn't here to support you." she said as she grabbed his hands and smiled at the warmth.
Lyra didn't how long this would last with her holding his hands until she broke the news about the baby. But she needed to make it count in case this conversation went south, but her act was coming to an end when she was asked what was up, and how she seemed to be extremely nervous, and she asked him. "What gave my nerves away? Because I promise you being here with you right now, I feel completely fine. Plus what's wrong with spending time with my boyfriend?" she asked with her eyebrow raised and she then looked, "And if your dying to know about school it's going well, stressful with Quidditch coming up. I also am in the NEWT classes, which I don't think are needed. When I want to a profesisonal Quidditch player, and it's not like it's a dead end. I been talking to scouts about after Hogwarts, and tryouts. Even if' it's two years away." she said even though she knew that wasn't happening. But as far as Toby knew she was still set for Quidditch, not being forced to quit because of the fact that she was pregnant.
"So it's going for me. Was sixth year this hard for you?" she asked him with her eyebrow raised.
What came out of Lyra's mouth had him looking at her with wide eyes, girlfriend? Seriously? He didn't see her as a girlfriend, yes she was hot and sexy and he loved their fun but actually committing to one girl? That was a thing? "Well yeah they do, some of them have wives as well but they're the bosses and they're people who make the rules and expect them to be followed by all employees. Although if you ask me I do tend to bend the rules from time to time, I can't help it" he explained briefly to her. When she asked if she was his girlfriend, he tried to think how to tell her this. "Well I wouldn't say girlfriend, I mean you're a friend with benefit but that is pretty much it. Didn't know you were making this official" Toby explained honestly.
"Well your brother needed some kind of guidance and I was happy to be of service, plus he isn't a bad kid he is mostly misunderstood if you ask me, I can't help but think he can be more in life if he works hard enough to accomplish his goals" Cooper was a good kid, but he also was a little over the place but with good guidance, Toby knew he would go far. There was that girlfriend card again, he simply ignored it.
Toby simply let her hold his hands even though he was kind of uncomfortable with the whole ordeal. Toby didn't understand why she thought that he was going to be boyfriend material to her. "Believe me when I say this to you, this year is going to be difficult for you and I will honestly tell you that. It was the worst for me and even with studying my ass off and I think you should definitely keep in mind this is going to be a hard and serious year" Toby explained.
Lyra hoped there was something more between the two, because she didn't want to think there summer didn't mean anything. Even if she was not a fan of the dating, but it did bother her that Toby didn't seem to intuitive about this annoyed her, but she was going to play along, "When did you get all professional, it's kind of attractive. But I do think it doesn't hurt to break some rules. Plus they all should know what's it like to sneak around and come on I have to be more fun." she chuckled in a flirty tone trying to hide the truth. And keep Toby interested before she had revealed the pregnancy. But she knew it wouldn't be long until she bought into game and his next words just caused her to sigh. It did bother her to know that he slept with other girls, but it was him. And she didn't judge him because they had fun together. "Toby, you are aware that we sleep together more than the average pair? I mean we practically lived together for the summer, and I am not making anything official. Just stating facts and come on do others girls, beat me?"she asked him.
She was happy that Toby had been there for Cooper, "I am glad that you think that, because he's a little ass." she chuckled. And Lyra gave him an reassuring smile, "You know Cooper loves you, right? I kind of think that he likes you more than he does me." she chuckled. "I hope you are right with him having a big future. Because it would mean the world to my parents, and I can only help him with Quidditch." she sighed. It was killing her she was stalling this conversation, but she didn't think Toby would take the news well about the baby. So she needed to play smart and if that meant doing this so be it. And when he told her that this year would be harder than previous years. She knew that was true, and being pregnant on top that definitely made it harder, "You know I love your advice, and you sound like a big brother right now. And it's funny because will be in a room in the next few hours. So it's definitely funny taking advice from you, when we sleep around" she joked with him. "But you got your wish I will work hard, it's just going to be hard with trying to manage playing Quididtch."she lied, and she felt like the worse person. So she thought maybe she could start implying it. "I just have this weird feeling that here will be more things that make this year hard, and I just recently feel so much pressure and the need to prove something." she said with a sigh. Hoping this wouldn't be stressful.
Toby nodded when Lyra talked about how breaking the rules wasn't all so bad. He definitely had the same thoughts when it was in Hogwarts, hell he got through his years by either conning his way out or actually semi studying and passing on luck. He was good at that, it also helped that he was a handsome young man. "Well definitely, I have made a name for making it through with cons but then again I passed because I am me and I am awesome" Toby replied. When Lyra talked about how they were practically living together he had to stop the eye roll that was itching to be shown but he stopped himself. "I don't do relationships Lyra, you know this but the sex is fun" he added.
Toby was glad to know that Cooper cared for the older guy, it was absolutely amazing that he made some sort of an impact. "I definitely do like Cooper, he is an amazing kid like I said" Toby continued. Toby couldn't help but chuckle when Lyra told him he sounded like a big brother. "I can't help it, I'm used to it when it comes to my younger siblings, although sometimes I suck at it, just at random times I can be wise" Tobias simply shrugged. Toby simply was confused when it came to her saying she felt pressured. "Well are you going to talk about it? I'm bad at guessing so I'll stick with you telling me" he replied.
