With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Cleo's cousin was getting married and she loved antiques when it came down to it so Cleo thought why not buy her one? Well that was easier said then done. Her cousin was also a picky person so she had to get the right gift or she'd get told off by her dear cousin and she wasn't in the mood for any of that. Cleo sighed as she walked into the shop and began to look around at what she could buy, her cousin was a Muggleborn as well and her cousin always had a thing for the weird stuff in the Wizarding world. As she was walking she accidentally bumped into a hard chest. "I am so sorry" she apologized.
Being in an antique shop made Ciar Stevens feel younger again as he would have been taken to one by his grandfather when he was a young boy. The male would often play with things, and get told off by the owner, but he grew out of that habit. Instead, when he went to the shop, he was looking for the perfect gift for his grandfather for Christmas. The male would appreciate almost anything.
His thoughts were interrupted by the bump, and he moved a hand to her arm to make sure this woman didn’t fall and break anything. ”It’s quite fine miss.” he said and smiled. ”You okay?”
Cleo was a little stunned when it came to this man not yelling at her for bumping into him, he was a quite handsome man to look at but she knew that she didn't need to go back into the game, she didn't trust a man around her kids. "I am okay, a little embarrassed that I wasn't watching where I was going but other then that I am good" Cleo reassured to this man in front of her. she looked around a little nervously before looking back at him with a small smile. "I am Cleo by the way" she held her hand out for him to shake, she didn't mind if he did or not.
Ciar wasn’t one to go off on a woman, knowing damn well his mother would murder his ass if he did. He had grown up to respect women, and was told by his mother that they weren’t toys to play around with. They were humans, and needed to be treated with respect. No wonder the woman divorced her husband after his father mistreated his sister so many times over the years. There was no way he was going to forgive the man for being such an ass.
There was a polite smile on his face when the woman introduced herself. He gladly took her hand, and shook it. ”Ciar.” he said, giving her a nod.
Cleo wasn't surprised when he shook her hand, he seemed like a true gentleman but then again looks could be deceiving but she was going to go with her gut here. When he introduced himself she nodded and smiled. "It's nice to meet you Ciar, never really heard that name before but it's very unique and different. I like it for sure. So what brings you to this antique shop?" Cleo asked curiously. She didn't mind if he told her or not, he was a person free to make his own decisions and she was simply but a stranger to him so she honestly didn't mind one bit.
Ciar knew his name can come off as unusual to those around, and he’d tell them the truth about the background. ”It’s Irish.” he said with a tiny chuckle, and looked around the tiny antique shop. This place would make his grandfather happy, and he wanted to buy something for the old man. It was the least he can do. Honestly, Ciar felt bad for his grandfather for raising such an asshole. Ciar didn’t approve of his father’s personality when it came to his sister.
”I’m actually looking for the perfect gift for my gramps. The man loves his antiques.”
Cleo watched and heard as he said that his name was Irish and she nodded in understanding. She had a feeling it was something from another foreign country, although she did think it suited him best but then again she didn't know him enough to think him to be someone else. "I like it, sounds.. manly I guess" Cleo nodded. The antique shop was an unusual place for her to meet someone at but it was a good place. She came here when she could but she was mostly here for her beloved cousin.
"Oh that is so nice of you, I bet he'll be happy with whatever you get for him. I know I'm here for my cousin, her birthday is coming up and she loves antiques so I thought it would be amazing if I came here looking for a gift but she is also semi picky and probably has most of the items in this store knowing her" Cleo laughed a little. Her cousin was a character that was for sure.
There was a tiny chuckle when she said his name sounded manly, and he wasn’t going to take offense. Instead, he had moved toward a little item on a shelf, and eyed it for a moment as he listened to her talk about her cousin, and he nodded. ”Family can be very picky.” he said as he moved a finger to touch the item on the shelf only to hear a man cleared his throat, and he jerked it away. Right. No touching unless you want to buy it.
”My sister is like that. It’s just hard to please her sometimes. But in the end, I get her chocolate and she’s happy.” he said with a smile. That girl can be the death of him one day. His only sister, and she’s been through so much already.
Cleo watched as he picked an item off the shelf and she thought it looked nice but it was something her cousin would probably think wasn't or she already had it. Cleo watched as the item got put back down and she let her eyes roam over the items in the store. "Tell me about it. She is literally the worst to buy something for, don't get me wrong I love her to death but still, sometimes when it's time to buy gifts for her, I dread it the most. Rather take her with me but then she gets handsy" Cleo explained her cousin and the antics she does.
Cleo nodded and giggled a bit. "Yeah I wish that was my cousin, she is allergic to chocolate so that would be a bad idea" she exclaimed.
Ciar gave Cleo a tiny smile as he looked around the store thinking of any type of gifts for a human. Some people were near impossible to buy for, and he had already bought some of his family's gifts already. He had sent a box of chocolates, and some other tiny items to his sister Casey, and had sent his younger brother, Jonah a box of condoms as a prank. He knew his brother got around, as they all do eventually. He had never had a mistake happen. Yet.
”Chocolate allergies always get in the way.” he said and eyed something on the shelf, smiling a bit. His grandfather would like that for sure. ”Never take her shopping. I learned that from when I took my sister out a couple years ago, and she ended up spending more than the limit our mother gave us. I’m the one that got in trouble, and Casey got away with it. Again.”
Cleo looked around when it came to a gift that would be good for her cousin but she nodded when he began talking but she frowned when it came to how he got grounded for something he didn't do. "Now that doesn't seem fair at all, why didn't your sister Casey get in trouble as well? She was the one that went over the limit not you?" Cleo never understood that but she knew that when it came to when her kids grew up that she was going to have to listen to both sides and take their punishments seriously when it came down to it. They may be twins but if they participated in something together she wasn't going to play favoritism when it came to them.
Ciar gave Cleo a shrug and chuckled softly as he looked at the price of the item he wanted to get his grandfather. "Well, my sister is the youngest of seven children and the only girl. My father had always treated her like crap, and recently it got so far to a point that my parents divorced because my asshole father refused to change. My mother got sick of it, and well, my sister is spoiled by everyone. Including me." he stated as he looked at her with a tiny chuckle. His sister meant the world to him, and the others. Last thing he needed was for her to feel like she was a failure.
It made sense when it came to the reasoning why he didn't let his mother know that it was her and not him that went over the limit. Cleo didn't understand how a parent(s) could be so rude when it came to their children. It definitely was something that she refused to be when her kids got older and were actually able to go out by themselves. "That is honestly very horrible, but I honestly hope that your life has gotten better and I truly mean that" Cleo exclaimed to Ciar, she was a kind soul and a mother, she wished people the best.
Ciar gave Cleo a smile as he thought over what his family had gone through and he nodded. ”It has gotten better. Even if he’s still in our lives, and we see him once in a while but I think it’s better if he’s not near the bunch of us.” he said as he looked at her, smiling a bit. ”If I had to pick over my father and sister, I would pick my sister cause goddamn she reminds me so much of myself when I was her age.” he chuckled softly, thinking if he should write to her.
Cleo didn't want to feel guilty for this young man because he definitely looked like he was doing good in life. When he talked about wanting to choose his sister over his father any day, she couldn't help but smile a little bit. "Well that is good to know, your sister is very lucky to have you when it comes to life and as her bodyguard" Cleo replied, she really hoped that her twins were like that, she wanted them to not only be best friends but also look out for one another no matter what.
