With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Blake had finally finished work for the night and after closing the shop up tight for the night, she took her leave to return to her home. It wasn't much but she knew that it was better then her other living situation, with her parents not giving a damn about her or her brother, it made it easier to go. It hurt to leave Bailey behind until she found a place to live, but as soon as she had gotten one set up and ready to go she had contacted her little brother who was excited to be reunited with his sister once again. The home she had chosen was on the outside of knockturn alley close to Diagon Alley for Bailey, she didn't want him wondering into Knockturn Alley without her accompanying him. As she was walking home she heard footsteps and she sighed, she didn't mind the footsteps now that she was a werewolf and she had some sort of advantage.
"Who are you and why are you following me?" She turned around to see who was behind her trying to creep her out.
Trent decided that he would take an evening stroll, because he didn't want to floo back to his home in Scotland, just yet. Then again, he knew that there would be nothing more pleasant than drinking a glass of firewhiskey by the fire. But he wasn't ready to turn in yet, and he had gotten some drinks in him.
Walking down the streets of Knockturn Alley, the werewolf smirked. It was certainly fun watching people at night, even if it was the height for purists in his mind who he had no use for. But there was no lie, it was the only place where werewolves had any real jobs. The man still didn't trust the place.
But he was soon caught off guard by a woman who was walking alone. It would certainly bring some fun if he could go and talk. And there is nothing more interesting than a woman walking at night. He could use a friend, and he decided to follow her. But his presence was soon detected, and the girl turned and spart.
"Calm down, love. I was just out for an evening stroll like yourself." he said with a smirk, "And I couldn't help but noticed you were walking alone." he added. Before he had proceeded to introduce himself.
The man let out a smirk, "The name's Trent." the man said with a charming smirk.
When she had turned around she seen a man standing there before her, from the scent he was giving off she could smell he was a werewolf just like her, but she also knew never to trust a wolf she didn't know, something she learned very quickly from the man that had turned her into a beast. Blake never had anything against any of the creatures that existed in the world, but that didn't mean she wanted to become one, she was perfectly find being a witch and when she had informed Bailey he wanted to come home from Hogwarts but she convinced him to stay put for she had her two best friends and her old nanny to help her with this new transition.
"I'm not really going for a stroll, just heading home from work and I don't mind the walk home for I know I can definitely handle myself and no one can stop me from doing just that. So if you have bad intensions I can promise you that I am not going down without a fight" Blake stood her ground and when the man introduced himself as Trent she sighed. "Blake" before she turned and walked into the direction of her home.
Trent should have expected there would be an challenge that came with this girl. But he could no lie, the man had loved challenges. And he gave her a small smirk, "You know love perhaps we can just chat. I bet a woman as fine as you could handle yourself." he said with a small smile hoping to use this for his advantage.
He didn't want to bring harm to be honest, but he loved to flirt. And she seemed fine as she was a wolf, but Trent was not one to make friends. He had no intentions of making friends with this girl. But he could use a conversation, and he said. "What is the job that you do in this wretched alley, even if it's the only place for people like us to truly be accepted. But remember I am a wolf just like you." he said giving her a dark grin. It was not good to cross your own kind, then again it always gave for a good fight.
When she spoke her name, "Your name fits you. Blake, and it's very much a pleasure to make your acquaintance, you know." he said as he looked at his hand. This guy needed some conversation or enjoy the glory of taking someone off guard. But if she provided a fight then he would give her one.
Blake knew this man was flirting with her and she honestly wasn't in the mood but she knew that he didn't care and she just wanted something to eat when it came to her night. "Good thing you do because I will seriously teach you a lesson if you keep flirting with me. You're probably like fifty years old" Blake said to him. The blonde knew she probably had offended him but she didn't mind.
Here was the flirting again and when he asked about what job she did in Knockturn Alley that kept food on her table and paid her bills and gave her little money to spend. "I work at a shop called Spiny Serpent, it's not much but it keeps a roof over my head and food on the table for my little brother and I. I may not be rich but I do all that I can to take care of myself and my brother while he goes to school" it wasn't a total lie, everything she did was to make sure that her brother had everything he deserved.
"Thank you, I think my parents did it on purpose but that is fine with me, your name isn't bad, but you don't look like a Trent" Blake replied.
Trent definitely was not giving up on flirting, the girl was beautiful that was no lie. But he was kind of hurt when she told him he was probably fifty, "I'd say I'd look really good for age. But I am only thirty-one. And you are far too young for me." he said with a charming smile. The man looked, "You just shouldn't be walking alone with the werewolf hysteria." he sighed. Wizards hated werewolves and they'd find a need to go after any they could get their hands on.
"Interesting that you managed to find a job, in this god forsaken alley. But I respect that you take care of your brother, I may not be fond of wizards. But family is something I don't believe in turning my back on." he said shocked that he was being so nice. But as long as this girl didn't piss him off. They were fine.
He looked around with a smirk, "What year is your brother in, love?" he asked with his eyebrow raised. Hoping to learn more about her and her family, even if he didn't like being nice. When she said that he did not look like a Trent, he asked. "Why's that?" he asked.
Blake couldn't help but grin when she saw that he looked semi offended that she had called him fifty. It was quite amusing when it came to this kind of conversation but she loved to tease. "Well I wouldn't have thought you were thirty-one and for your information I am only twenty, I know some people think I am younger but it's true" she had that face but she didn't mind it one bit. When he said she shouldn't be walking home alone she sighed. "Fine, but I do need to get home. I have pets that need to eat" she began walking.
When he talked about how she had gotten a job, she nodded and sighed. It was definitely tough for her when it came to jobs. "I didn't always work here, I worked at an ice cream shop and made good money, more then I do now but when I was closing up the shop and was walking home I got attacked by a werewolf and I eventually became one. I tried hiding it since I know that we're frowned upon but my boss found out and I got fired. Then got my job working in Knockturn Alley. It isn't much but it keeps a roof over mine and my little brother's head" Blake explained to this stranger.
"He is in his sixth year at Hogwarts, he is growing up more then I want him to but I couldn't picture him being a little boy forever. He just better not get a girl pregnant" Blake joked although she was dead serious. It was hard enough as it was since she was a werewolf but she didn't need to raise a baby with her brother and support it with all that was going on. When he asked why she just shrugged. "I don't know, you just look like a Bryan or a Jason. Not a Trent but who cares" she simply shrugged.
Trent gave Blake a smirk when she told him that she was twenty, and it was confirmed. "You are definitely too young for me sweatheart. But I do think wolves should be there for each other. I could prove to be a good friend," he said giving her a smirk. When she spoke about the life she had before she was a wolf. "Well you can thank the fucked up wizarding world for that, and the ministry for letting creatures like Vampires who suck blood from humans. While us who only turn on a full moon be faced with fear and hate. But I cannot say that I ever had a time where I had that. Been a wolf since a child" he said with a smirk. The man loved it and he lived to one day take what was taken from him back from the ministry officials.
"What pets do you have? They don't get alarmed by your wolf stench?" he asked with curiosity. Then again he was unaware of which pets she had. And he gave a shrug when she spoke about how she tried to hide it. "A wizard can guess a wolf for miles. Are you apart of any packs, or is it too early for you to join a pack?" he asked Blake with his arms crossed, "And perhaps I should stop by the shop one time, but it will be when it's dark. Because I cannot walk with wizards during the day." he said with an amount of distaste in his voice.
Trent listened as she went on and on about her little brother, because he didn't really speak to his siblings and the only two that showed care was his wizard brother and his sister. "Well you can't watch your brother forever, and why would you assume he'd get a witch knocked up, don't you have any faith in him?" he asked with an eyebrow raised at those words. "What house is your brother in? And what house were you apart of?"he had asked with curiosity.
Blake knew that there was definitely an age difference between them but she honestly didn't care, she didn't need an age to be friends or acquaintances especially with this guy Trent being a werewolf like her. "Yes werewolves do need to stick together, don't get me wrong my brother and friends are awesome and amazing but they don't know what it's like being a werewolf, going from one thing to another in one night" Blake replied.
When he asked about what kind of pets she had, she simply smiled. "I have two cats and a dog, I had them for three years so I had already gained their trust and vice versa before I got turned. They were cautious but they know I will always be me and love them unconditionally" Blake explained. When he asked if she was apart of any wolf packs she shook her head no. "I got turned into a werewolf about two months ago, still never got to know any fellow werewolves and what not" Blake answered. The blonde nodded. "It would be awesome if you could stop buy once, it would be more entertaining" Blake was all for it.
Blake couldn't help but laugh a little. "I've always looked after him, our parents really didn't care about the two of us and when I graduated and got a job and eventually my own place, I took him with me. I have faith in him for sure but sometimes I know how Hogwarts kids can be and what not, hell I was one of them. I was also in Slytherin house, kind of shocking but it's life and what not" Blake exclaimed.
Trent didn't truly care about Blake, but he knew his pack needed more members and he was willing to do some recruiting. And as much as he didn't care for the girl, she was still fine. Giving her a villainous smirk when she spoke about how it's important for wolves to stay together, "You know for people like us there are packs we can join, right?" he asked hoping to see how far he could get. There was nothing better than turning a wolf against the world that had done to people like them. And for them to see how truly screwed up wizards were.
"Exactly they don't and they will never understand. They'd rather think that those who are pure wizards are better." he said giving her a look, hoping his charming personality was working. "But it's safe to say it's hard for me to imagine a life were I wasn't a wolf. It's not like I had much of a choice when it came to being turned." he said walking with a sigh. He hated that as a child he was forced to be turn. When Blake spoke about how she had two cats and a dog. He let out a chuckle, he wondered how a werewolf could react to having three animals. He didn't care much for pets, but it was fascinating learning of others having them. "I suppose you did earn their trust, but have you ever thought they might sense who we are, but I have to respect the fact you have pets. I don't think I could handle having a pet in my house." he said walking.
Trent listened when she spoke about how she was turned into a wolf for once, and he turned, "Well have you ever thought of trying to fully learn your new life and adapt? You know joining a pack could help you enstil some values into being a wolf. Do you know who turned you?" he asked with his eyebrow raised, he wanted to see if she would join and there was nothing better than a new wolf, in his mind. He knew he was cruel, but his pack had always come first. "If you want to meet some wolves, I'll gladly introduce you to some." he said with a smile. He hoped this would go well and when she asked him to stop by her shop one time, "I'll think about it, but I am not want to venture out into the wizarding world. It's not my place and I must say it's not my favorite." he said giving her a look. He hated going into places that were populated with wizards and it was something that'd rather go and get drunk.
He could relate to not having parents that ever really cared about you, and he gave a sigh. "A feeling I know all to well. You know it's my parents fault for why I was turned into a wolf. And I don't think I'd ever forgive them for taking my chance at being a wizard away." he said even if he could wield magic. It still wasn't the same so it was easier to hurt those who he wished to be and he said. "I got siblings too, but we barely talk and my brother is trying to live a wizard life as close as possible. I got a nephew too who goes to Hogwarts." he said with a sigh. As much as he despised wizards he'd never hurt his siblings and family who were still wizards and he said. "How does your brother feel?" he asked curious if eh was supportive of her, and when she told him she was a Slytherin he nodded, and he said. "I was too. And I have to say it was one of the hardest things I ever did." he said with a sigh..
When he talked about packs they could join, she nodded but also shrugged when it came to it. "See I know there are packs out there but like I also said I am a newly turned wolf, you're the only wolf I've met since I've been turned into one" Blake explained the obvious, if she knew werewolves she'd most likely try to make friends with her new found species but haven't met anyone until now.
Blake knew that was true, the law was ridiculous when it came to them, she was just like them once, just a witch who graduated and wanted to work to take care of her brother but life decided to punch her in the face when it came to the fact that werewolves were treated like trash. "Well the law doesn't care that we were once like them, they fear the change but it would be interesting to see what happens when it's one of them" something Blake thought of a lot nowadays. When he talked about her pets, she couldn't help but shrug. "Well I had them before I turned, believe me they were hesitant at first but they've grown used to knowing that I am still me just a new and improved me" Blake explained.
When he talked about learning her full potential as a werewolf, she couldn't help but smirk a bit. "In all honesty you're the first werewolf I've met since I was turned, so I don't know any packs who would be willing to take on a newbie like myself, I know they go for people who are full of more experience" Blake knew that she was still new to the werewolf scene and she didn't know much. "I have no idea who turned me, I tried tracking him down but it's like he has disappeared off the face of the earth" Blake explained. When he asked if she wanted to meet some wolves, she was completely stunned but knowing that he was older then her and he was in fact turned when he was probably younger so he knew a lot more then her. "Well that would be amazing, I should have known you'd know fellow wolves. I'm guessing they're apart of your pact?" Blake asked curiously.
"It was their fault you were turned? How? That must have been awful for you to know that your own parents could be so cruel" When he then began to talk about his family, she listened. It must have been hard. "Your whole family is werewolves? And who is your nephew? Maybe my brother Bailey knows him" Blake knew she was prying, it was kind of hard when someone she just met happened to be a werewolf just like her. He asked about Bailey and she couldn't help but let a small smile cross her face. "He was sad at first knowing all about the laws and what happened to creatures with the work place, but he is very supportive. He is always there to pull me back when the darkness wants to take over" Blake explained.
