With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Positive Traits: adventurous, protective, loyal, brave, energetic Negative Traits: mischievous, irresponsible, immature, impatient, reckless Quirks and Habits: James has trust issues. This is because he got close with someone, counted them as his best friend, only to find out that they only liked him because of the Potter name. He believes most people only like the name and the bragging rights. It takes a lot to break this wall down.
Has selective hearing. He’s got a habit of pretending he didn’t hear someone if they say something he didn’t like. For instance, James hates all nicknames associated with his name. If someone refers to him by one of those names, he ignores them until they use his name.
He loves pulling pranks. He’s constantly thinking of more to pull and during Hogsmeade weekends, he’s checking out prank stores in order to get more supplies. Everyone is a potential victim, no matter who they are, though James saves his meanest pranks for the Slytherins because of how much he despises them.
Likes: pranks, looking at the stars, eating, the rain, wizards chess Dislikes: being serious, purists, slytherins, rules, authority figures Boggart: his little brother, dying in his arms Mirror of Erised: he sees himself, finally mastering becoming an animagus Patronus: black labrador retriever
HISTORY
”He’s a regular chaser,” his mother said, proudly.
“Built like a Seeker,” his father added.
James’ parents got him on a broom early. They felt it would be a good way for him to channel his energy into something other than picking on his siblings and cousins. He always felt his mother exaggerated his abilities on a broomstick. In his opinion, he wasn’t that good. He’d call himself pretty awful. Maybe it was just because he didn’t hold much interest in flying. His love of the sport didn’t extend to wanting to be like the pros. James just wanted to watch them. He got bored after a few minutes and went back to annoying Albus. He didn’t get back on the broom after that.
“Aunt Hermione took me to this planet thingy. I saw Mars!” Six year old James exclaimed excitedly to his parents.
The Planetarium seemed to be a frequent trip with Aunt Hermione. She was, probably, the biggest supporter of his passion for Astronomy. Not that his parents minded; they bought him a telescope, much better than what the students of Hogwarts use, in order to look at the stars and planets every night. James figured they were just surprised because he wasn’t the type to like books or anything educational. However, he devoured everything he could find on Astronomy, even his parents’ textbooks, even though he was a little young for those just yet.
“James Sirius Potter!” his father yelled as he came into the kitchen.
James knew he was in trouble, but he couldn’t think of why until his dad came into the kitchen, his black hair dyed hot pink. He laughed hard at the sight and he wasn’t the only one; even his siblings were laughing at it. Swapping the shampoo with hot pink hair dye was the best idea he’d ever had and he was so glad Uncle George supplied him with the dye to make it happen. He couldn’t help but be a little disappointed, though. Albus was supposed to use the shampoo, not his father. He’d gotten a large supply of dye, so he could always try again. James was definitely going to, as well.
“GRYFFINDOR!” The Sorting Hat screamed.
“NO!” James cried out, loudly.
Pretty much everyone heard him say that. It earned him a few laughs from the other houses, but the Gryffindors didn’t look too amused. He had nothing against that house and he fully knew he didn’t fit into another house. He just hoped the Sorting Hat would see how much he didn’t want the family house and sort him somewhere else, even if he didn’t belong there. He was just tired of people trying to compare him to his father, constantly having to hear that he just wasn’t living up to the Potter legacy. In Gryffindor, he had no chance of being James. He was always going to be Harry Potter’s son. In another house, he might’ve actually had a chance to be himself.
He made friends, one of which was someone James really came to trust. He counted him as his best friend, someone that he depended on more than anyone else. They were always in trouble together. Professors learned to separate them because they were always planning their next prank instead of doing what they were supposed to.
It wasn’t until his second year he learned a valuable lesson. He can’t trust most people; they didn’t actually like him. Being betrayed by his best friend was awful and something he didn’t take well to. James distanced himself from most people, only trusting those he’s known since he was very little. He didn’t know why the others were hanging out with him and he certainly didn’t want to find out.
At the end of his third year, he decided he wanted to be an Animagus and spoke with the professor about helping him master that skill. James didn’t care how long it took; he was determined to do it. The summer before his fourth year, he got a hold of the Marauder’s Map. It became his most prized possession and he began using it mainly to sneak around the castle in the middle of the night, setting up pranks without being caught.

Another day, another detention. Hogwarts really needed to come up with another punishment because this did nothing for him. Boring him to death wasn’t going to make him wanna behave and stop getting into trouble. He just spent that time planning more pranks and he had a good one in mind for his fellow Gryffindors. Nothing mean, not like anything he did to the Slytherins, but it was still going to be hilarious. James couldn’t wait for this detention to be over, so he could run and tell his friends his plans. He really didn’t know how they managed to get out of this detention when they had just as much involvement in that stunt as he did, but it didn’t bother him. He would gladly keep his friends’ names out of everything he did if he could. James didn’t mind taking all the blame to keep them out of trouble.
The professor glanced up at him every once in awhile and he pretended to be working on the lines he was supposed to write. He’d written maybe three in this entire time and didn’t really care what the professor would do when she found out that he hadn’t done what he was supposed to. By now, she was probably used to it, though. James did what he wanted to do more than what he needed to do. Unless it had to do with Astronomy or Transfiguration, he didn’t care one bit. Finally, the professor told him he could go. Throwing the parchment on her desk, he ran out of the room quickly, not listening as she yelled at him to walk.
