With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
BLOOD STATUS: half-blood (Angelina’s blood status is never mentioned, so I’m going with half-blood for her since it is the most common according to the books, making Roxanne also half-blood)
JOB: student (4th year)
HOUSE: Gryffindor
FACE CLAIM: Nathalie Emmanuel
BIRTHDAY: 17 February 2004
PERSONALITY
Positive Traits: curious, intelligent, strong-willed, independent, extremely dedicated to her passions Negative Traits: shuts down in difficult situations, hates doing anything that isn’t her own idea, stubborn, easily upset Quirks and Habits: Roxanne is on the quieter side of Gryffindors, and her preferred “daring adventures” are more along the lines of reading about them in books. She has always been the kind of kid to sneak a lantern, or later her wand with a Lumos, into bed to read late at night. Growing up in a rather loud family means that she's learned to be alright with fading into the background. She tends to observe the world rather than be the star--but privately, she has many strong opinions and big ideas. It's getting her in a situation to express them that makes things interesting. Likes: books, sunrises, attempting Divination, cats, being cozy, watching Quidditch, laying in the sun Dislikes: heights, comments about her family, having to perform in front of others Boggart: dead family members as zombies Mirror of Erised: herself, independent of family expectations Patronus: snowy owl
HISTORY
“Beater or Chaser, Roxy?”
Everyone expected Roxanne to be the next Quidditch star like her parents, or at least that’s how it felt to the little girl holding her toy broomstick, refusing to get off the ground for fear that she might fall again. For all that she loved to cheer on the Holyhead Harpies, she felt that she would never fly well enough to be on one of the Hogwarts teams. All the expectations seemed like this, really. As the daughter of a joke shop owner, she was supposed to be funny--but how was she supposed to be lighthearted when the pressure was on to do it? And the constant talking about her uncle--she knew he had been very important to her father, but she had never met him. It was impossible to live up to a dead man. (Plus, she hated being called Roxy.)
”I think you belong in GRYFFINDOR!”
Roxanne had been hoping for Ravenclaw the entire train to Hogwarts. As the hat shouted out her House, Roxanne wanted to argue more, to beg it for Ravenclaw instead. She had the distinct feeling that it had simply heard her last name or remembered her parents, and sent her over to the Gryffindor table. What about her was brave? She had no “daring, nerve, and chivalry.” She didn’t even like hearing about the war, because how was she supposed to know all the details of things that happened before she was born, and live up to whatever their reputation was?
”I'm going to take Divination.”
Though she knew she wasn't a Seer, Roxanne really wanted to try her hand at the mystical branch of magic, intrigued by all the possibilities. She knew that only a small handful of her classmates were taking it, but this didn't put her off in the slightest--she wanted to do it, and others' ideas of what was and was not useful magic didn't matter. It did require her to steel her will to keep going when she started to find darker interpretations of things, reminding herself not to be afraid. And perhaps there was the flash that the Sorting Hat might have chosen correctly after all, her dedication and stubbornness making her brave in some way, after all.

RP Alias: Kasia Pronouns: she/her Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw Other Characters: NADEZHDA KAREVA , SKYLAR REID Roleplay example:
Maybe, Nadya thought, studying together might be even more useful than she had thought, because she was the total opposite: she could do alright with practical things, but the second she had to sit down and memorize pages of boring information, all hope of success was gone. She was especially glad she'd been able to drop History of Magic at N.E.W.T. level, knowing that even the help of a classmate wouldn't fix how much she hated the subject in the first place. Her favorite part of Herbology, too, was actually working with the plants, no matter if she had to wear earmuffs or dragonhide gloves just to re-pot them. Yes, this could work out, if Grace actually had some way to help memorize things once and for all.
"I think I'm better with practical things, honestly," she explained. "It's always essays and exam questions that cause me trouble."
She thought it was strange, too, that Grace's wand seemed to be the problem. "Are you sure it's not an issue with your wand? I know they can backfire pretty badly if they get broken, or if they don't bond to you." Nadya's own wand was a rather steady combination of oak and unicorn hair, so at least she had never had those issues. She felt perhaps it was able to balance out the veela temper she was supposed to have.
"But are you good at Potions then, since you don't have to use your wand much?" Help with that would be best of all if she wanted to work in healing, because Nadya's hatred of the dungeons had caused her much trouble with that class. "Maybe we can start with your healing paste."
