With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It was early in the morning, the lights were barely on and the sun already had been making an appearance. For Dallas it was dangerous to show up here, being able to get caught easily. Honestly he didn't want to be the way he was but here he was presented with choices, with problems and all were not the things he was looking for. Truth be told he missed his sister and his little brother even though it seemed Skylar wasn't the same either.
All of them changed and not for the better but Skylar needed to know he should stay safe in school, watch over Morgan. Dallas soon would go to the cabin again and no one would be able to hear from him for a while it was just the way this had to be. The boy was playing with the seems of his shirt as he waited for Skylar to show up, he really needed to talk to his little brother.
He looked out for the little redhead, his guitar by his side as he did so.

It was going to be fine.
This is what Skylar told himself as he made his way through Hogsmeade in the early morning, knowing he could get in trouble both for being out of the castle at this hour and for allowing Dallas so close to the students. He swallowed hard at the thought of his brother being such a danger, reminding himself that they were nowhere near the full moon, there would be no problems at all.
Still, he wished Morgan was with him. Things were easier with her around, when he didn't have to think all on his own about how to deal with Dallas now. He felt it should have become more normal by now, but it hadn't. Every day Skylar missed the brother he remembered. And he knew that at all times except one night of the month, Dallas should be the same as he was before--but how, when his life was so different now? Skylar twisted his hands together as he walked, trying to work out some of his nervous energy.
He spotted the guitar before anything else, and breathed out a sigh, feeling a little better at seeing it. At least that was familiar. If the guitar was gone, Skylar really wouldn't recognize Dallas anymore.
"Hey, Dallas?" he called quietly. "I'm here, like you asked."
Ever since Dallas was younger his guitar was his best friend. Whenever he was angry and Morgan wasn't there, he would play his guitar and the anger would just fade away. He loved the healing magic of music like that. Though he wasn't sure if the magic of music would heal his little brother's heart. He knew the boy was damaged in his own way, the pain must be unbearable.
"Hey little brother.." he said and eyed him. Dallas bit his bottom lip, it was weird. Skylar looked at him with no adoration, no love or kindness. He looked at Dallas with fear and it broke Dallas's heart. The ginger boy sighed and smiled a bit as he eyed his little brother, he wanted to make sure Sky was okay.
"You look taller, you're going to outgrow me aren't you?" he asked him trying to lighten the mood. Maybe if Dallas showed him he wasn't a monster things would be okay again.

At his brother's words, Skylar looked down at himself, trying to smile at the thought that he might be the taller brother someday. He'd always been so much smaller than both his siblings, but that was just because he was the youngest. It was true that his legs did seem longer, judging by the way his jeans were just a touch too short on him. Maybe he'd grow even more after all.
But he also knew talking about how much you'd grown was the kind of thing random relatives talked about when they had nothing else to say about you, and it reminded him again how much distance there was between him and Dallas now. It wasn't supposed to be this way, but what was he supposed to do about it? There was no cure, had never been for however many millennia that werewolves had existed. It might never happen. Skylar focused back on the guitar, forcing himself to think about happy memories, back home with Dallas picking out a tune, Morgan sketching, and himself reading the latest Quidditch news.
That was all gone now, though. The happy memories didn't help when he doubted that any of them could even bear going back to the house. He hadn't even gotten a chance to let Dallas teach him guitar, and now, would he ever be able to? Skylar always got so nervous about the full moon, not wanting to think about what was going on out there.
"I've been--alright, I guess," Skylar said. "I really wish I didn't have to deal with school, but there's no way out, you know." He almost immediately winced at the words, having said that to someone who couldn't go back even if he wanted to.
