With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ever since Tobias had met his old friends during a Hogsmaede weekend, he had started accepting tasks from here more and more. Deals could be struck anywhere but Hogsmaede was a perfect spot. Everything was just a job to get by for Toby. He never earned enough to have a place to sleep but he could keep a bit of the stash as ‘reward’ and get a little cash. Usually just enough to cover his medical costs. For food and a place to sleep he still had to rely on his charms and good looks. Not that he minded sleeping around, it offered the young wolf the social contact he missed. Still he would’ve preferred people of his own age rather than old men and women. One lady had been old enough to be his grandma, Toby wasn’t proud of it. But he was still alive because of her pleasant meals, they made up for what he had to endure.
His old friends would usually buy him drinks and Ry would heal his wounds for free. Perhaps he was just leaching of them these days but at this point he didn’t care for honor. In high hopes of meeting them again, he went to Hogsmaede once more. Toby was getting low on his happy-potions, powders and pills. So, he needed whatever he could get.
But they weren’t there which gave him a bitter taste in the mouth. He wasn’t feeling all too well because he had to use less of his stuff if he were to have enough before the next payment. Perhaps just a little slip. He had the vial in his pocket. As his friends weren’t going to be here, what was there left for him? After a quick shot, Tobias felt a lot better already. Yes! He should just flirt himself to a free meal. Because of the potion he felt a little daring.
His lips curled up in a smirk. Who knew, he could even bed someone of his own age for the chance. When he spotted a girl alone, he knew this was his day to shine. He moved over and sat down next to her. “Hey, are you-” His eyes widened as he recognized this pretty face perhaps a little too well. “Vik, Shit.” He didn’t want her to see him like this. Even if years had passed, Tobias still hadn’t forgotten how he once felt about her. If she recognized him, she’d surely be disappointed in what he had become. Best he could do was leave. “Uh… Nevermind”
The former Gryffindor got up and turned away, he wanted to leave this place now.

Viktoriya was laughing and carrying on with her friends in the three broom Sticks as they enjoyed their visit. The Bulgarian-Hungarian Ravenclaw was having a good time when the girl's decided to go shop a bit,"I'm going to stay here... Read a bit, " She insisted as they tried to convince her to follow suit. However, she was always perfectly content reading. She pulled out her book giving it a little wiggle as she opened it with a chuckle, " Honestly I'm fine. I'll drink my bitterness and find you guys later, " The girl replied, sticking to her guns. She relaxed, taking a drink before she began burying herself in a book on the first wizarding war.
However, her reading was quickly disrupted within a few minutes of enjoying her quiet. She looked up as a young man slid in, beginning to sweet talk her as her eyes caught his, " Wha--" She paused, squinting a bit at him when she realized who it was. Or at least... Who she thought it was... She blinked a bit as the boy stood up, still a bit taken aback as she watched him motionlessly. Wait.. He was... Here? She stood after a moment to hurry to him, catching his arm gently.
"Wait... Please..." She muttered, barely above a whisper, " You... You're Tobias Turner, " She remarked, her heart racing a bit as she looked him over. She didn't care that the boy was worn and rough... It mattered, but it didn't deter her from pulling the boy to her and hugging him tightly. "Tobi, " She muttered to her older friend as she kept her arms embraced around him, closing her eyes right. She held him a moment before slowly letting go... Afraid the she might've simply dozed off.
But... No. It was absolutely him. She furrowed her brows at the realization as the relief turned into worry and irritation, " Youre okay... And you couldn't even tell me?!" She snapped as she began scolding him in a barrage of angry slurs in Bulgarian, " How could you do that! I was so worried! Not a single one of my letters answered? You couldn't answer one owl?!"

Tobias saw the thin line of sunlight sneaking through the opening of the front door. He was close to his escape when suddenly. A weight on his arm pulled him back. Most of times Toby was heavily under influence to control his emotions. Now he had only done a simple single sip. It was so little it was starting to wear off. Panic took over him. This was bad, this was really bad.
All case of horror scenarios ran through his mind. It had been a mistake to accept jobs in the town near his old school. He didn’t want Vik to see him like the mess he was. His hair was uncombed till the point his curls started to tangle. His clothes visibly worn and covered in stains and holes. His body covered in scars and fresh bruises and cuts. Not to mention his bones being very visible under his skin due to the lack of fat. Then his face, unhealthy pale with large bags under his eyes. Shortly put: not a look that’d impress a girl.
The former Gryffindor stayed quiet. His face twitching as she spoke to him. Until finally he regained control. “I’m sorry, I do not know who that is. You must have gotten the wrong guy,” he lied in the hopes she’d let him go. The plan seemed failed as a moment later he found strange familiar arms around him. The boy froze in his spot, staring wide into nothing. Until his hand moved up to hold her back before he had second thoughts. Something inside him broke and he struggled to hold back the tears.
Ever since he had turned around, Toby hadn’t looked her in the eyes. How could he? His jaw clenched and his limbs started shaking from more than the whidrawl. When Vik snapped at him, he remained quiet. Obviously he deserved all of that. After he got kicked off school, he’d disappeared from his classmates. Most people thought he was dead probably. Obviously none of their owls ever reached him. They were sent to the orphanage he used to stay in. Until well basically just a few days after the school had kicked him out. Because the orphanage quickly followed. “Which letters? No owl ever found its way to me,” he mumbled before taking a deep breath. He should cut this short before he’d get emotional. He had to be strong. VIKTORIYA BACHOVA,

The
Viktoriya could feel the pressure release as she scolded him. She wanted to stand there and inform him of every feeling she was forced to ace because he decided to get kicked out of the school for... Heavens only knew what reason. She pursed her lips as she looked at the boy in the eyes. He was a mess-- his hair and clothes disheveled and unkempt. Had you told her she would run into the wonderful Tobias in such a way... Weln she wouldn't have believed you. But she supposed seeing was believing.
She could've berated the boy but... No. She wanted to talk to him. She wanted to calmly speak and actually understand what had happened that had led to him leaving Hogwarts.. Despite his attempts to try to flee, she held that boy again... Tight. "I'm sorry..." She said simply as he told her he hadn't received her own"I... I thought that you were simply sending back the owls. I-- didn't think they couldn't find you. Or... I don't know. That's the problem. I don't know Anything." It was clearly a loaded statement as she looked him in the eyes, wanting to know what the hell happened. He had been her best friend, and then he just disappeared after all.
"Please... Can I buy you bitterness and we can... Talk?" The girl asked, hoping to get some sort of reasoning or at least closure. Most of all, she missed him and it was clear from the expression as she gestured towards a table in the back away from everyone. She would've suggest outside, but honestly he looked like a butterbeer would hit the spot.

Tobias was embarrassed to face the girl he once liked. He had told his Gryffindor squad about what he was, or rather Ry found out and Toby decided not to keep it a secret for the others. But he had never dared to tell Vik because he always wanted to impress her. Once Tobias was a cheerful lad that was good at school and possibly the best seeker Gryffindor had seen since Mr. Potter himself. Once Toby had a bright future ahead of the young man standing here was a mere shell of that.
Time went on for people like Viktoriya. She’d grown while he wasn’t only stuck but also went downhill. This was a painful reminder. When his old friend apologized, he sighed and shook his head. Obviously, it wasn’t her fault, he never told her anything because he wanted to show his best side to her. “It’s okay. You couldn’t have known,” he reassured her. Lowkey he’d just kind of hoped she’d have thought better of him.
The young werewolf sighed and deflated. All strength to fight back disappeared when she looked him in the eye. Hers still were as beautiful as he remembered. He felt defeated. Why couldn’t she just remember him the way he was? Well the image was ruined already. “I suppose I owe you an explanation…” The boy mumbled. “Can we find somewhere quiet, please?” He was terrified of what’d happen if more people heard his words. Tobias had been beaten up quite sometimes just because of what he was.

Viktoriya nodded, moving to the farthest table back with her book tucked under her arm as she did so. She didn't understand... Any of this, which in itself was frustrating. She had adored this boy, and when he just disappeared, she was at a loss. She didn't know what had happened to him, and no one would give her a straight answer for who knows what reason. She did all she could to get in touch with him, but was left empty handed and broken hearted. She pursed her lips a bit as she slid into the seat, setting her book down on the table.
She never would've thought her day would go so sideways, but as taken aback as she was, she needed answers whether she would have liked them or not. "I... Hope this is okay?" She remarked, hoping to make him at least semi comfortable. The poor boy seemed as if he needed the quiet and the space, and even a safe feeling. She has already scolded him out of an immediate reaction, but now it was time to give him a chance to talk and... Hopefully she could finally understand why he left.
"I'm sorry, " She had to say, " I know I will likely say that a lot, but, I am. It's selfish of me to jump at you, scolding you as if I have the right, " She remarked, " You must've been through a lot." After all, he'd been a golden example. She couldn't have imagined the boy would have just dropped out without cause. "You.. Don't have to tell me anything you're not comfortable with, " She remarked, her thick accent still as evident as ever, and her tone as soft as it could've been.

As he followed her, all kinds of doom scenes played in his head. He didn’t know how she was going to respond. And he feared admitting how much of a loser he had become. However he couldn’t lie and pretend he was doing just fine either. Toby sat down, avoiding eye contact with her. “Yeah, this is fine,” he mumbled. When a waiter passed, he quickly ordered a strong drink. That was going to be needed for some courage.
“It’s okay. I understand your emotion,” he reassured her. Looking at Viktoriya brought back memories of simpler times. Times where his biggest worries were exams and making sure he looked cool in front of his crush. Oh how desperately wanted to go back to those days. “Eh, you could say that,” he scratched the back of his neck in reply. When the waiter returned with his drink, he grabbed it and downed it without flinching. A younger Tobias would never even be able to get it near his lips without pulling a face. “Well, it’s not like I’ve been hiding it. I just never yelled it out in the open but if someone asked I never lied,” he said as his fingers twitched towards the collar of his shirt.
For a moment he paused, checking if they were being watched before showing the huge scar underneath it. Anyone who had passed the third year at Hogwarts could tell what it was. He didn't know what to say and just kept staring at the table.

She gasped a bit, but at least it all made sense. With the way that werewolves were treated, it was no wonder why the boy kept his affliction to himself and hadn't spoke to her about it when he disappeared. It all made sense.. She pursed her lips a bit, making sure no one else had notice what she had seen. There was no doubt that everyone else in the establishment would know exactly what the scars were from, after all. Her eyes softened, taking his hand, " Tobi... I'm... Sorry that this happened." She felt even more rude having scolded him, but she knew he didn't want her to keep showering apologies on him. No one wanted people to act like they were overly sorry. She sighed, running her thumb over the boy's hand.
"If you don't mind me asking..." She swallowed a bit, treading lightly as she began to speak, " How did this happen to you?" She asked him. She was an ever-curious young woman... Perhaps to curious for her own good, but at the same time, she worried for him. She worried about what it was like if he was already in such a poor health. Why did the world have to treat the werewolves so shamefully? I was just... Cold and cruel. A majority of the afflicted hadn't done so by their own accord. He clearly hadn't. She looked pained by the news... Not Ashamed, but she was quite upset with herself that she hadn't been there for him in the way she would've liked to have been.
"Are you... Alone out here? Where do you stay?" She inquired?

Weirdly enough, Tobias always wanted to vent out his story and troubles. Now he was given the chance he closed up. Even if it was in the past, he used to have a crush on Vik. And somehow he wanted to honor his past self and protect the tiny bit of honor he had left. Perhaps then she wouldn’t think he was a complete loser. He felt a little embarrassed which was odd considering he’d thrown away most of his shame and responsibilities years ago.
Maybe he didn’t want to bring up his problems in life after all. Just forgetting would be better. Sadly he was way too sober for that now. If it weren’t for the comforting touch, he probably would’ve left in panic. He bit his lip and remained silent until she asked how it happened. “It was bad luck. Wrong place wrong time. In the summer vacation between my first and second year. I was camping with my friend who also went to Hogwarts and his family. We stayed relatively close to the town so we were unaware of the danger until it was already too late. Owen’s dad…” It was a long time ago yet he still swallowed. The man didn’t make it. Considering how many people were there, the casualties were low. But it had resulted in Owen and his mom moving after the man’s death. Tobias had never seen them again. “I lived.” He kept it at that, not wanting to share how he ended up in an orphanage. Everyone in Hogwarts knew he lived there. Well until the new laws came in that was.
“I know people,” he said. Tobias tried not to be alone even if it meant going with strangers and ending in dangerous places. “I move from place to place. See where the wind takes me.” It was a better thing to say than 'yeah I'm a hobo'.
