With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Bounding into the Great Hall, there was a bright sunny grin on Viola's face but then again, when was there not? Nine times out of ten, if you asked how she was, she'd say 'hunky dory!' and mean it. Even when she was sad, she rebounded pretty quickly. She didn't like to dwell on negative feelings when she could be happy, bouncy Viola instead.
Standing on her toes with her hand raised to her forehead like she was a sailor on the sea, Vi searched for someone to sit with for breakfast. She liked her own fellow Ravenclaws but she spent a lot of time with them already in the dorms, and she was in the mood for someone different and fun... like her friend Sam who she spied over at the Slytherin table.
Walking over, Vi wasn't shy as she climbed over the bench and promptly fell into Sam's lap. Reaching up, she bopped his nose with the tip of the finger. "Looking stunning this morning, Sammy! Are you having a super duper fab day so far?"
Sam had woken up at the crack of dawn to draw the trees. Something had just came over him. So he sat on the lawns, sketching the trees. He'd sat there long enough for the sun to warm his face and his fingers felt numb, but he had a full page of trees. A forest. He sat back to look at it for a moment, a content feeling washing over him. He'd stopped drawing for almost 6 months because he just didn't feel like it. After what his mother had done... He couldn't enjoy himself for long.
The content, now melancholy feeling was joined by hunger as his stomach growled and he stood up, packing away his sketchbook. He sat alone, for once, letting himself stew in his thoughts a little longer. He was chowing down on a bowl of porridge and honey. He'd kind of zoned out and started when Viola plopped onto his lap. Her bopping his nose made his day so incredibly brighter, and he smiled, welcoming that content feeling back. "I am now you're here!" he cheered, squeezing her in a hug, "Now, as much as I love you, please, can I move you so we can eat and talk?"
"I could just hug you all day, you great big teddy bear. Who said Slytherins don't give great cuddles? Those people are a bunch of funny bunnies if they think differently!" Vi said brightly, leaning up to press a bright red smoochie woochie on Sam's cheek before scrambling off his lap as he asked to sit beside him.
But of course, in typical Viola fashion, she didn't keep her hands to herself and sat impossibly close to him, the outside of her thigh pressed against his. It wasn't really a flirting gesture, more so that Vi just being close to others. It made her feel happy, showering all her friends with love and affection. "Soooooo whatcha doin'? Besides eating your breakfast! Oh... oh, I should probably do that too, hey?" she chirped, reaching over to grab a slice of toast before slathering it with a thin layer of butter, and then a thicker layer of jam.
Sam smiled at Vi. He wondered how many sixth year Slytherins she'd manage to hug without being hexed. So many seemed so moody and quick to anger, he often felt alone in his affectionate ways. He always loved a hug, or holding hands with friends. He sometimes felt like the only Slytherin who did other than Rebecca of course. He glanced around for his girlfriend, finding her at the other end of the table with some friends. Sam smiled, glad, and turned his attention back to Viola, grinning, "I'm a different breed of snake, babe." he quipped.
He let her scramble off him and immediately attacked his breakfast again, chewing fast and swallowing to answer Vi's question, "Classes all day today, then I'm hanging out with Rebecca." The two had started dating just before the summer holidays, he really liked her and was excited to see her after a long day. They'd never been a secret, but had been low-key, so he wasn't sure how many people knew. As well as his habit to flirt with friends and strangers. Sam turned to Viola, "What about you?"
"I hope you're an spooky wooky anaconda. One that'll hug me so hard that my bones feel like they'll crack," Vi joked, grinning as she reached up to touch Sam's cheek. "Just don't eat me whole! I don't think I'd like to be trapped in that huge belly." Playfully, Vi reached out to give Sam's tummy - his very flat, fit tummy - a tiny prod with the tip of her finger. "How's your girly wirly? Not that she's yours. She's her own person. But girlfriend wirlfriend doesn't sound as cool."
Vi nodded in response to Sam's bringing up classes, however she did pull a face. "Classes are super duper... not exciting. But least some of the Profs are cutie patooties this year, don't you think?" she said, mind pleasantly drifting towards Professor Samuels. He was just... hot. Really hot, or at least she thought so. "Um... so I've gotta do classes and then keep doing the painting I'm working on and maybe write some more of my songs but I also really wanna try and smoochie woochie someone today. Nobody's snogged me since I came back to Hogwarts!" Not that they'd been back for long, but ever since losing her first kiss to Angel last year, she'd become a bit addicted to kissing and she was in need of a fix.
