With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Cassidy had been digging in her pockets for the money and found some that she talked about. Maybe it was enough for two chocolates.. maybe three? The girl hated being poor but it was her life and she didn't need the pity. She knew what she was in for and one day she could take care of her mother and provide for them both.
"Never doubt the power of a parent." she said and looked at Casey, following her gaze to the photo. The photo showed a big family and she smiled a bit, she wished she had a family like that and wished Casey's father didn't abandon her the way he did.
"Don't worry about covering me Casey, this is for our mums." She reminded her with a smile and moved to her friend's bed, sitting down slowly.
"Do you need a hug? You look like you could use a hug."
Casey wasn't disappointed in where her family ended up, everyone had a job they loved and were well off. Her father had left the house to her mother so the kids can have their childhood home. He wasn't completely heartless - he did love his kids but she knew damn well he didn't love her as much as he loved her brothers and even if she acted like she didn't care about what he thought, she did. There was a time she looked up to him, wanted to be like him but now she wanted to focus on her own future. Her possible Quidditch career, and the dreams of finding love for herself.
She watched as her friend moved to her bed, making her smile a bit and she nodded a bit. She would never say no to a hug from Cassidy. Cassidy was the only one she allowed to hug her besides her brothers and mother. And her best friend's hugs always made her feel better, made her forget about her own problems at home.
"I can't say no to a hug from you Cass. You know that." she said and opened her arms with a smile.

Cassidy hugged her friend happily with a smile. She wasn't much of a hugger unless it was her mother but she loved hugging her friend and making her feel better. Lately all she tried to do was make people happy around her, her new friend, her best friend and her cousins who obviously didn't give a damn about her even if she wanted them to.
The blonde smiled a bit and hummed in the hug. "You know, there is a new boy in school named Raouf." she said and looked at Casey as she broke the hug so she could talk to her.
"He was my pen pal for a long time. I gave him a basket of muffins and I feel so silly for that." she chuckled a bit and shook her head.
"And the other day a girl tripped over me when I was enjoying the sun."
Casey had hugged her friend back, knowing damn well she could use a hug from her best friend cause her brothers weren't there to do it. Even if she wanted her own freedom, and not have a shadow, she missed having her brothers around. She knew Christmas was going to be different without their father around even though he was welcomed. Her mother wasn't going to keep him away from his boys, and Casey told her mother not to worry about her. It would be cruel if her mother decided to keep her kids from their father, and most of them were adults so they can decide if they want their father in their lives.
"Don't feel silly. You welcomed him to this hellhole. I'm sure he loves them." she said and rolled her shoulder and heard her shoulder pop, smiling a bit. Much better. Quidditch practice can be a pain in the ass. Her eyebrows raised when she heard about the incident.

Cassidy didn't mind hugging Casey. She loved her friend dearly and she would do anything for her. Casey seemed like she had been needing her hugs all day and it was really sad to see her like this. The girl eyed Casey who spoke and nodded with a small smile.
"He is sweet, I think you'll like him though too bad he got sorted into Slytherin." she didn't want the bad people there to make him a bad person as well but Raouf is strong.
"She is.. she kept calling me beautiful and it was so strange.." no one called her that. She still couldn't understand it.
"I mean sure people think those thoughts but she really kept complimenting me.. even with my glasses on!"
Casey raised an eyebrow at Cassidy as she mentioned what the girl had said, and she was a little amused by this. This girl sounded like someone Casey can get along with because they'd probably agree on the same things. Yes, she had found her own best friend beautiful over the years and she was proud to call her a friend. Someone she trusted, someone she can lean on when she's having a hard time mentally. Cassidy had known about Casey's suffering, and they had both been there for each other over the years. Suffered the same things.
"Well, you are beautiful. I can agree with that girl 100%." she said and chuckled softly as she eyed her friend. "The glasses are a plus though." she hummed, cocking her head to the side as she thought it over. "I need to meet her."

Cassidy had been bullied for so long, people said so many things and she never seemed to be able to find the truth in their words. She often believed the insults over compliments because there were more of those but Casey never insulted her, she was honest and she believed her every word. Cassidy looked at Casey with a smile and leaned her head on her friend's shoulder.
"You really think so?" she asked softly and bit her lip. "Have you told Mavican how you felt?" she asked and eyed her friend. She knew her friend had a crush on Mavican, who didn't? But she believed they could make it work if only Casey would tell her.
"Her name is Rowena.. she is a Gryffindor." she said softly and played with her shirt.
One thing about Casey and Cassidy's friendship - Casey never lied and never found a reason to lie to her best friend. Not when it came to things like this. Sure, Casey hadn't fully come out to people and Cassidy was the only one that knew of her feelings for Mavican. And Casey had no plans in telling her because she didn't want to ruin a friendship. She'd rather die than tell her if she was being honest. When Mavican was mentioned, Casey remained quiet as she laid her head on hers, snuggling her friend a bit. Her eyes were ahead for a moment as she listened to her friend.
"I don't plan on telling her." she said and sighed softly. Nope. It was going to stay in her heart until she was done with Hogwarts. Mavican can do whatever the hell she wanted with her own life even if it killed Casey to see her with other people. Her loss I guess.

Cassidy wasn't well known with love, she had no idea what to expect really. What was love? Was it real or just something she read in books? But when she saw Casey looking at Mavican gosh it was so real for her. The blonde just wanted to support her with it as much as she could. Mavican even flirted with Cass once and Cass ran off like the coward she is.
"I don't know, she sounds a bit weird but in a nice way!" she said quickly and blushed a bit. She didn't even know what else to say about Rowena other than that.
"Why don't you talk to her? She seemed to like you."
Talking about Mavican was a weak spot for Casey, and her friend knew that damn well cause she knew how Casey felt. The girl was too stubborn to even tell Mavi about how she felt, and she didn't want to ruin the friendship she had with the slightly older girl. Instead, she insisted that she'd just deal with her own feelings by keeping her mouth shut and ignoring who Mavican was with during the times she wished she was with her. Casey tried to keep herself from falling for the girl she couldn't have, and last thing she needed was for her to know it.
So she just shook her head. "Not like that. She doesn't like me like that." she said as she made a face. "I'm just not going to ruin my friendship with her because I have feelings for someone who doesn't see me the way I see her." she said as she laid down on her back, her eyes finding the ceiling.
Cassidy was the only one who knew she was into girls.

Cassidy knew this was a tough subject but Casey deserved to be happy and if one of them was supposed to get the girl it was her. She loved her and she'd do anything for Casey but Casey was going to be miserable if she didn't tell this girl what she felt.
Who knows what could happen? Cassidy just lied down beside her and smiled a bit. "I'm here for you no matter what you do." she said and looked at the ceiling.
"I can do a trick watch this." she said and grabbed her wand. She muttered a spell and turned the ceiling into the night sky.
