With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Being back at Hogwarts had it's fun perks, like picking up the sport she loved and practicing with the team. Especially Mavican. Yes, Mavican Jones. The one person Casey didn't expect to actually like or feel anything for but it was there, and she hated it. She was still discovering on who she was, and knew that yes, she liked girls and never told anyone. Not even her best friend or even her brothers. No one knew, and sometimes she would find herself staring at the sixth year. She was surprised she wasn't even caught with it, and if she were, she'd just brush it off and say it was nothing. Nothing was bugging her. Casey did have the habit of staring into the distance for a little while. Which had just happened when she was flying, and ended up getting smacked by the Quaffle upside the head. It had made her wipe out, and now she was heading back to the dorm, limping and refusing to go to the Hospital Wing.
Why would someone toss the Quaffle at Casey? She had no idea. She was the seeker on the team, but for some reason she couldn't focus. Mavican wasn't the only distraction happening. The fact her parents had divorced over the summer was also flooding in her mind, and how her father had grunted when he packed up his bags and moved out of the house. Twenty-eight years of marriage down the loo because he wouldn't stop bullying his only daughter.
A sigh had left the short haired female as she slowly made her way into the dorm, biting down onto her lip. Maybe she should have went to the Hospital Wing, but lying down in her bunk wouldn't hurt her she figured.
She was embarrassed as it is. Last thing she needed was for the healer to find the bruise in a not so happy place.
There was a happy groan as she took off her robes, tossing them on her trunk and ended up smacking her knee on said trunk. "OW! Son of a...."

Being back at Hogwarts was one thing, being back at Hogwarts and losing any respect if there was any left from her so called family because of the boggart and now she needed to try and make up for it. Her mother was understanding, she had assured Cassidy that it was a natural fear but that she shouldn't let fear define her.
Cassidy always let fear define her! The blonde took off her glasses and closed the book, she was reading up on boggarts and sighed when she couldn't get the answer to it that she needed. The blonde heard someone come into the dorm and put her glasses back on before looking up.
"He--" she was about to greet her friend but her greeting got cut short. "Oh geez what happened to you?"

Casey bit down on her lip as she moved to sit down on her bed, hissing a bit at the pressure on her ass and eyes closed for a moment as she tried to hide the small smile. "Ass vs the ground. Ground won." she said as she slowly laid down on her bed, lying on her side and tucked the pillow under her head. At least she wasn't straining herself now that she was lying down on her side, she can lie here for the rest of her days. She wasn't going to show her face to her teammates for quite awhile. She can still hear the laughing echoing when she was helped up, Goddamn it was embarrassing.
She eyed her friend for a moment, frowning a bit. "What are you reading?" she asked as she shifted a bit to look toward the book. She wasn't blind, she knows something is up with her friends. She wanted to help them with whatever they needed and she knew Cassidy knew she'd do anything to help.
"I got a letter from my father." she shared and frowned a bit. Of course his abuse only got so far.

Cassidy basically sped towards Casey like she was the flash. She needed to make sure her friend was okay and she was actually pretty good at healing magic. Cassidy took her wand from her pocket and sighed a bit. "Why are you not at the hospital wing?" she asked her friend and rose an eyebrow.
"Please remove the necessary clothing for me." she said and reached for her bag to get a few potions out of there. Being bullied means you patch your own ass up whenever you need to. Her mother always made sure she had vials of self rescue in her bag.
"I got cream for bruises.." she put it on the bed and cocked her head before looking at her book. "I was reading up on boggarts.." she mumbled and kept taking potions out of her bag.
"H-he did?" she stopped moving and looked at Casey. "Are you okay?"

Casey had raised an eyebrow at her and snickered as she leaned up on her elbow a bit. "Because I don't feel like giving people the full moon." she answered as she thought about the letter her father had sent her a few days ago. How much he blamed her for his marriage falling apart, and was she okay? No. She was upset that he's still going after her for his life falling apart. She wanted to just hide away and forget about the abuse. The emotional abuse. For some reason she just wanted to do the unthinkable. But what would happen if she did?
Casey shook her head, looking up at her and groaned. "You want me to drop my pants?" she asked, sitting up a bit more and eyed her friend. "No. I'm not okay. He's blaming me for everything that had gone wrong in his life." she said and got up slowly, undoing her pants slowly.

Take it from someone who was hated or even ignored by most of her family, Cassidy knew the pain Casey felt. At least she had her mother and brothers. Cassidy looked up at her and nodded slowly. "Don't worry, It's just for medical purposes." she said quickly with a slight blush. Cassidy honestly just wanted to help here.
"Well you could always send them back? Not answer them or read them?" She suggested and wouldn't even be able to imagine a father like that. Her own father was dead and her uncle tries hard to help but of course it isn't the same, it never is.
Cassidy grabbed the bruising cream and sighed a bit, waiting for Casey to show her the bruise. Once she saw it she started applying the cream carefully.
"I eh. Well we had the boggart class you know? And I regret running out but the man you saw... that was my uncle. The twin of the nice one." she never spoke of Greg or what he did.

Casey bit her lip as she waited for Cassidy to do what she did best, and she had closed her eyes as she listened to her friend. They had been through so much and she would always be there for her in any type of crisis. Her head turned as she had mentioned to return the letters but it was too late she opened and read them thinking they were from her oldest brother. "I would if I could. I opened them thinking it was Don but it wasn't." she said and took a breath.
She turned her head when she mentioned the boggart and she frowned for a moment. "I'm sorry. Didn't know that part." she said and cocked her head to the side. "Mine is my brothers dead by my father's hands." she raised an eyebrow.
"Guess our pasts have a terrible habit of biting us in the ass."

Cassidy had a tough past sure, and her family situation now sucked but she wasn't going to complain much. She still had her mom who never turned her back on her either. The blonde took care of Casey's injuries and handed her a potion. "For the pain." she offered and smiled a bit as she put all the vials back in her bag.
"I'm sorry, do you have your own owl?" she asked and closed her backpack slowly. Casey would never deny mail from her cousins but they didn't even think she existed so what was there really to be glad about?
"Don't be sorry, no one knows really why I am scared of my uncle." She said softly and pulled the backpack in her lap. "He thought mum was under a spell.. that my dad kidnapped her and well.. I am basically created out of evil.." she sighed and eyed Casey.

Casey gave her a friend a small smile once she was gone, and tied her pants back up with a chuckle. She had trusted Cassidy ever since they had met - it was something with her that told her that she can be trusted. The nights they shared, the secrets they'd share. Cassidy was Casey's first true friend when they started at Hogwarts, and she had been open about her father being an emotional abuser to her. How he managed to try and ruin her life by saying boys are better than girls. It had caused Casey to go into a head space she was scared of but she had her friend to lean on.
Like she was there for Cassidy to lean on whenever she is needed for support. She wasn't going to let people bother her friend, she would always have her back no matter what. "We used to share one but mum is giving me my own sometime. Dad won't be able to touch him." she said and sighed.
She laid back on the bed as she eyed her friend for a moment, giving her a small frown. "I think you and i being sorted into the same house is a blessing."

A part of Cassidy wondered how her dad would feel about her, he died when she was nine and life hadn't been the same. Cassidy could see the sadness in her mother's eyes whenever she would come to see her because she got bullied or needed a hug, she knew her mother was extremely unhappy as well.
"Well you can always use mine if you really want to write your brother. I don't write people much anymore." She suggested and sat back down on her own bed, her backpack safely tucked underneath away from other people's grubby hands.
"Yes I am very lucky to have you as a friend." she told her and grinned a bit. Cassidy grabbed her camera and shot a picture of Casey. "I am working on decorating my wall at home with photos from here, from my friends. So far it's just you and Raouf." she chuckled and blushed a bit.
"I wish my mum wasn't so sad, she always seems so sad.."
Casey whined as she grabbed her pillow in an attempt to hide her face from the camera but it was too late, and she pouted a bit as she got more comfortable on her bed. Her eyes had found her friend as she laid her head on the pillow, arm tucked under. She was about done with life, and bullies harassing her. She wanted it all to stop. She wanted to be at peace but couldn't find it due to the drama that filled the castle, and her home life.
"I think we as daughters should just take our mums out and have a day. You know, maybe we all can get together to do that one day. Just try to forget the stuff that goes on in our lives." she offered, sitting up a bit and sighed. She wanted to make sure her own mother was okay. The divorce had taken a toll on her, and Casey wondered if it was her fault.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧
Cassidy giggled a bit as Casey tried to escape her camera and took out the polaroid photo from the camera. The blonde held the photo out for her friend and smiled a bit more. "You look adorable on it." she said and held out the camera. She had two of them, one she wouldn't let anyone touch and this one to make memories with her friends.
Cassidy nodded as Casey offered a day out for the two of them and their mothers. "I think my mum would like it! Just like me she doesn't have many friends.. and if she does.. she hides them." she said and though she felt bad for her mother she knew that Cassidy was her mother's best friend.
"Where do you think our mums would like to go to? She took me to Greece last summer. We got into a small car accident but mum fixed it before the muggles even found out that something happened." she chuckled.
There was a moment when Casey wished her home life was normal, that her father loved her and never gave her a hard time. She wanted her father look at her, to see that she wasn't going anywhere cause of his mistreatment. A part of her blamed herself for the divorce, and she even thought about running away and never coming back. But everyone told her that it was her father that was in the wrong, and the fact he never wanted a daughter was something that would haunt her to this day. Her one wish was that her father would love her, and be the father she deserved to have. But that's never going to happen.
"Can't say that I have. We never really did this whole family outing thing. And when we did, my father was always on my case about something. I never got a chance to enjoy them." she frowned as she thought about what her father could be doing right now. Probably working. Always working. Both her parents were workaholics but at least her mother paid attention to her. Even sends her baked goods from home.
"Maybe we can ask our mums to meet up with us in the village next time we're due to go." she said with a forced smile.
And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧
Cassidy felt so bad for Casey. All this girl wanted was her father to love her. In Cassidy's case all she wanted was her father back from the dead, he loved her and he would come home from fighting in wars and hold her, read her bedtime stories even when she was a bit too old for them. Cassidy even dreamed about it, about her father reading her stories and saying how proud he was of her.
And then they would turn to nightmares, Greg would barge in, a green flash and her father was dead. The girl snapped out of the train of thoughts and turned to look at her friend with a symphatetic smile.
"Your father is just missing out on how wonderful you are." she told her. "One day he will find out and he will regret all the bad things that have happened. I am sure of it." she had to believe that her own family one day would accept her existence too.
"Yes we should definitely do that, maybe we can get our mothers something? I don't have much money because mum and I aren't rich but I am sure i have some money for chocolate.." she said and checked her pockets.
Another thing both Casey and Cassidy had in common - they are such mommy's girls. They both had a good relationship with their mother's and Casey was always thankful for what her mother had done over the years. What her mother sacrificed for her, the happiness that she gave up on because her father would always talk her daughter down. When Casey was a girl, she told her parents that she wanted to be a Quidditch player one day, and her father grunted and said that she was too tiny, and she didn't have what it takes. Those words haunted her until the tryouts happened and she had found her true calling. She proved him wrong, and he didn't like it one bit. He still told her that she wasn't good enough. Not going to be as good as her big brothers.
One day she would prove him wrong and and someday she hopes that he would tell her that he's proud. But for now, he hated her. Blamed her for his wife leaving him. Blamed her for even being born. It took a toll on her own mental health, and sometimes she wanted to shut everyone out because - he's right. She ruined his happiness the day she was born. She ruined what he had planned for a family. He wasn't expecting to have a daughter. He wanted boys. And his own father hated that he was treating his only daughter like garbage.
She didn't believe that her father would tell her he's proud of her. She doubts everything now. Cassidy was wrong. "I doubt it." she said sadly as she looked toward a photo of her family. A family photo of all of them. The only one she had.
"Maybe go to a shop in the village during one of our weekend trips and get something nice. I'll cover you."
