With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Ariella was sure this would be an empty classroom, not many were interested in potions as much these days but to her surprise many showed up. The brunette cocked her head as she watched the students walking in. Her eyes on each and every one of them before clearing her throat.
"Welcome back to Potions. You chose this because you need it, potions does not need you so behave will you?" she suggested not wanting anyone to ruin her class. The woman pointed at a large pile of paperwork.
"At the end of this class you will take these assignments and write me a 2000 word essay about your expectations of this class." the woman said softly.
"I am professor Tyrell, I am your potions professor for this year at least and hopefully when you graduate or come back next year you will control the elements." she pointed her wand at a cauldron.
"Inside is a potion I brew for this very class, it is one of the most dangerous potions to digest. This potion can make you look like you are dead, it is very strong and what happens when you ingest too much at once?" she asked hoping they had the brain to answer this.

Walking into the Potions classroom, Grace instantly noticed that they had another new Professor it seemed, and she hoped it was a nice one. One that would be supportive and helpful if Grace need guidance... which hopefully she wouldn't need because potions was one of her better classes, it required less practical magic and more recipe following kind of like cooking. She just hoped that it continued to be one of her better classes because it was important to her to do well in this class especially as it was a NEWT required to enter healing training after she finished school.
Listening to the Professor speak, Grace nodded as she took in each clue of what potion the Professor was brewing. Raising her hand, Grace hesitated a moment before asking, "Professor... are we, um, learning how to brew the Draught of Living Death today?" It sounded like it, but Grace wasn't entirely certain. But then again, it was rare she was wholly confident in any of her answers during class.
Sitting in the front row of the potions classroom, her legs neatly crossed and hair pulled back off her face, Vinda listened to the new Professor as she started her spiel about potions and how they they needed the class and not vice versa. If she didn't have the 'respect' for her Professors, she would have spoken up to debate the point because potions definitely needed her. She had no doubt in her mind that she was going to become a world class potioneer in the next few years, one that definitely made their mark. She would end up being a lot more significant than this Professor who had apparently resigned herself to teaching. How tragic.
As Longbottom, an incompetent, weak-minded idiot of a thing spoke up and answered the Professor's question, Vinda was taken by surprise because the girl had gotten the potion correct, it seemed. Unfortunately she was too much of a half-wit to answer the rest of the Professor's question, and Vinda raised her hand. "If you ingest too much of the Draught of Living Death, you'll go to sleep indefinitely," she answered, voice clear and confident. "This potion is also incredibly hard to brew for some of those who are less talented, and therefore you should always test the potion before consuming it."

Potions was all fun and games until it wasn't. Scar was seated at a table, her hands folded in her lap while she waited for the class to start. The professor was young, that was the first thing Scarlett noticed aside from her choice in clothing which basically screamed rich and proud. The brunette could admire that though the attitude that came with it was off putting, just enough for some people here to probably judge enough and act like brats.
Scarlett just listened to people answering her questions and sat in silence.

Cooper was beyond excited to return to Potions, and it was one of the few things that kept him going. He didn't want to spend his entire first couple days of classes, worrying about his little brother. Even if it was his fault for him being missing. The Slytherin knew that this was the time and place to tune his guilt out.
He had been excited to hear about how they would be getting a new professor, this year. Even if he had liked the past professor, but new things were always good. He had entered the classroom. And he took a seat, and listened as Professor Tyrell had spoke about how they would be brewing a dangerous Potion. And he didn't feel like answering a question. Even if there was a possibility that he might know about it.
The Slytherin sat back, as he watched his classmates. Hoping he could show his skills through his Potion-making skills instead of answering questions.

The woman rose her eyebrow as the first person to answer was Longbottom. "Yes you are miss Longbottom." she said with a frown, that was not what she asked but she figured teenagers and their curiosities took over their brain capacity. The brunette turned her attention to a blonde who answered her question like she should.
"Ten points to Slytherin." She said and nodded. "Miss Selwyn is right, this potion can literally kill someone if ingested too much. Now before you will brew this and learn how to create this potion, Do any of you know the antidote to the draught?" she asked and cocked her head.
"Mr. Narro perhaps?" she asked the bored Slytherin male in the back. She wasn't one to pick names but he seemed not interested in this part of the class.
Cooper had been watching everyone intently, and finding himself amused by the answers. And when Professor Tyrell mentioned how Selywn's answer was correct, and how his house got ten points. The Slytherin smirked, but much to his disappointment, he got called on. Even if he more than likely knew the answer.
The Slytherin looked at Professor Tyrell, as he thought about the possible antidote. One soon came to mind, and the Slytherin responded, "A possible antidote could be the Wiggenweld Potion. which is used to cure injuries." he said with a smirk. He didn't mind being an asshole, it was just his personality, and he let out a smirk. "I hope the answer is satisfying." the Slytherin said with a dark grin, not giving two craps. But there was no lie that he knew his Potions.
Rebekah had zoned out in class a little bit but she was brought back when the Professor spoke about her potion, Rebekah watched as those around her spoke before the Professor began to notice the bored Slytherin who seemed to have no care in the world. When he had responded with an answer Rebekah was a little nervous on what would happen since from the looks of it Professor Tyrell was not someone who liked smart mouths and this Cooper Narro kid looked to be one. She had heard about him but she always stayed clear since she honestly didn't want to be played by anyone. Rebekah sighed as she began writing down notes for the class, she'd rather know this stuff in the future then forget it.
