With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Felix Avery has been the Minister of Magic since May 2016, when he was elected to take charge of dealing with the werewolf issue. Now, three years later it seems like his goal has been achieved, yet the unrest of creatures in Northern Europe signals the begging of new troubles for Britain. Soon, an election will be held to determine the new Minister of Magic, and one of the candidates could be played by... You!
The choice of character's background is quite open, though someone with a political career would be preferred AND that this character:
Would be at least 40 years of age, half-blood or pureblood, born and raised in England.
Would propose that school aged werewolves were still too dangerous to have at Hogwarts -- the attacks in the last few years prove that.
Would propose that underage wizards are also too dangerous and therefore a separate school would be commissioned to keep wizardfolk and wizard children safe. Current graduated werewolves would be given a "living wage" (room & board only) to be professors to these kids.
Werewolves would be provided with a small, legalised refuge and taught how to grow their own wolfsbane - it is then up to them to manage the creation of wolfsbane potion
Werewolves must register and have a Trace on them that alerts the Ministry if they bite another human. Anyone that does gets a lengthy sentence in Azkaban.
While Hogwarts has always been against the use of Dark Arts, considering them dangerous and corrupting, at Durmstrang the outlook is different -- it is considered a type of magic the mastery of which requires much more skill and effort than your regular, harmless charm. It is only corrupting if the mage in question is a fool unfit to wield a wand.
The Dark Arts Theory classes have attracted a sizeable bunch of students, but some of them wish to know more. Professor Dabrowska values inquisitiveness, so she has been looking for a way to teach more than theory right underneath everyone else's noses.
There is only one rule -- keep your mouth shut about it. If any of this would come to light, the consequences would be serious for all parties involved, starting from warnings, letters sent to parents to possible expulsion or even prison, if someone decides to put their newly acquired knowledge to the test on another student.
If your student would like to participate in these lessons for one reason or another, please let it be known by answering to this ad.
