With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Negative Traits: socially awkward, cowardly, thinks he’s always rational when he’s not necessarily
Quirks and Habits: -Stefan loves to collect Muggle items, especially electronics. He knows that many of them won’t work at Hogwarts, but he likes to take them apart anyway. -He absolutely believes in aliens. He hasn’t personally seen a UFO, but that doesn’t stop him from continuing to scan the skies, just in case. -Being the youngest of seven brothers, he has learned to take privacy whenever he can get it. He’s an expert in finding unused corners of the castle to sit in. -Despite trying really hard to keep his glasses safe, he always seems to break them somehow, and he’s had to get really good at Oculus Reparo.
Likes: space, astronomy, aliens (or at least the possibility of aliens/UFOs), Muggle technology
Dislikes: being the youngest brother, broomsticks, hand-me-down robes, confusing social situations
Boggart: a whole bunch of small snakes
Mirror of Erised: standing next to an alien, getting the Nobel Prize for discovering aliens
Patronus: gecko
history
Seventh sons are supposed to be lucky, or have some sort of special powers, but Stefan has never seen any signs of that. Instead, it’s been nothing but fighting with six older brothers for food at every meal and the bathroom every morning, and sometimes, just fighting because that’s what kids do. And being the youngest and the smallest, and not really inclined toward participating in a battle every day--there was definitely no luck in that. Besides, it was obvious that his parents had only had seven kids because they wanted at least one girl, and he was the last one they’d tried for.
And then there was being compared to his brothers. His oldest brother had once been Head Boy, a feat that none of the rest of them seemed to be able to match, but that didn’t stop the reminders each year that it would be lovely if there would be another one in the family. Another had once been Quidditch captain, though Stefan had spent most of his childhood avoiding pickup games with him because even toy brooms seemed to throw him to the ground half the time.
And then--then there was Tristan. The sixth Argent boy, only a year older than Stefan, but for whatever reason, determined to make Stefan’s life hell. Being that they had to share a room, Stefan avoided it as much as possible, spending nights up in the attic when he could, reading books and opening the little window to stare out at the stars. The stars were fascinating since he was small, and became doubly so when he started to read Muggle science books. The vastness of the universe, knowing that the tiny pinpricks of light were actually massive balls of fiery plasma, with chemicals colliding--the universe was so much bigger than any brothers could be, and Stefan knew he had a life passion.
But just after she sat down on a bench, the air grew cold in a different way, her name spoken formally, but full of ice. Ludwig was approaching her yet again, after she'd made it what she thought was abundantly clear that she did not want to speak to him, and she looked up from opening her bag, eyebrows raised, heart pounding in the same way it had been when she had gone to attack Mia-Rose's attacker--half fear, half adrenaline.
There was no way that Isobel could pretend she hadn't lied, but there was no need to. She knew full well what she'd done, and she didn't regret it. "You can't possibly tell me that you've never lied to protect someone," she said, straightening up. "I told you not to pry. You're the one who wouldn't listen to me when I said he doesn't want to talk to you."
