With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Dear Uncle Richard,
I haven't seen you since the break, so I wanted to write. How is farm life treating you? I suppose it's quite relaxing. Are there a lot of new lambs this year? I wish I could see them, but I suppose I will at Christmas.
If you ever wanted to visit Scotland, you could come during a Hogsmeade weekend. I would spend some time with you if you would like.

Uncle Richard,
I'm writing because I want to talk to you. The lambs were just a bonus question. Mostly, I want to apologize for what happened in July. I don't want that to be the only thing you think about me.
Also, the only way I can see you is if you come to Hogsmeade, which is why I wrote that.

Uncle Richard,
My parents aren't the ones who might be able to teach me things about magic and about exploring. Okay, maybe Mum can teach me about plants and stuff, but Dad only knows things about farm animals. You're the one who's been on adventures. I want to know about that. Can't be a magizoologist if I'm not able to get to the creatures I want to study.
Plus, if you come to Hogsmeade then I can go. I know you know that. I'm just trying to explain what's in it for you.
ther magizoologists haven't had any need for my services, so I don't buy it. And my adventures aren't ones to be spoken about. Trust me. You'll regret ever asking. If you want to be a magizoologist, go ask your COMC teacher about it. Read some books. The time when magizoologists went into the depths of the jungles to look for beasts has long since passed, Scamander has done it all before you.
And considering what happened the last time you were at Hogsmeade, I don't think you should be there at all.

Uncle Richard,
I've been in COMC for three years. Almir is great, probably the coolest professor in the school. But he teaches stuff about creatures. What I need to learn about is survival. Like, what kind of magic you use when you're in a tent alone in the depths of the rainforest. Or in the ocean! Because you know, we know more about the stars than we do about the ocean. Don't tell me to ask O'Connor for that kind of thing, he's useless and he doesn't like Slytherins anyway. Slytherins can help each other.
And if you're in Hogsmeade, I'm sure you won't have me go into the forest. Not like I want to be grounded again anyway.
ou would think the War would have ended the stupid inter-house rivalry, but what can you want from a Gryffindor. Heads always up their own back ends.
You're very certain that you'll find yourself stranded on a rotten raft in the middle of the Pacific, aren't you? You can be a magizoologist without leaving your house, our sheep aren't all that simple. From experience, farm life is too boring for you and you'd rather risk your ass... For what? What is it? A foolish wish to prove something? To whom? Or do you have a deathwish and you're trying to get yourself killed in a way that wouldn't make it look intentional? As far as I know, your parents haven't left you without attention and love, unlike some. What drove you to do something so incredibly idiotic, Mia-Rose? To attack a full grown werewolf when all you have is whatever Hogwarts taught you?

Uncle Richard,
Do you even see us? Isobel's the pretty and smart oldest daughter who's going to inherit everything, and you have to be a dunce not to see that Evie's the favorite daughter. Of course I have to do something, otherwise I'd be forgotten completely. Otherwise I'd spend my life being the awkward freak who doesn't know how to have fun or get a boyfriend or make small talk at dinner. Lots of people already think I'm weird, if they even think about me at all. Can you really blame me for wanting to prove something? I have to be good at something. At least at the things I'm actually good at.
And speaking of the war, a lot of them were my age. The Battle of Hogwarts was fought at Hogwarts. I know you know that, because I know you were there. So I can learn, I can.
onsider not giving a shit about what anyone else thinks. It'll save you a lot of grief. As for your sister - Isobel clearly doesn't want to do anything with the farm, she's got her sights set on living in the city with that boy of hers. even though this is the second time I know that she's been the reason I've had to get help for his grievous wounds. Evie is the youngest, and, since your parents actually love all you three, it is no wonder they dote on the youngest one. If your parents didn't care for you, they wouldn't have raised hell. If Isobel didn't care for you, she wouldn't have pulled the same stupid stunt. Nobody cared about me. And now only your father does, 20 years too late.
They all had the Great Potter to teach them, it's a surprise they didn't all get killed at the Battle. And then, that entire year we were taught by Death Eaters, taught such things that would send me to Azkaban if I even told you about them. I wasn't present at the Battle, they sent all the Slytherins away.
It seems to me you are set on being remembered for some audacious feat, and your parents would be devastated if something happened to you, so, as little desire as I have to get out this very comfortable chair, and I don't trust you to experiment with any martial magic without getting yourself blown up...

Uncle Richard,
I'm not going to get myself blown up. If I did then people would only remember me as an idiot, and that's not what I want.
Well, I'm good at hexes, and at defensive spells. I can do a pretty good Shield Charm, I did it in my exams. Also I'm good at the Unlocking Charm, but that's a pretty easy one, all things considered. I know a lot of dueling spells, but I don't get enough chance to practice them, since we apparently spend most of our time in DADA having meltdowns over Boggarts.
I'd rather have you as a teacher than Potter anyway. He probably just sits at a desk ordering the Aurors around all the time. I bet there's a lot more you could show me.
tandart curriculum, they haven't thought of teaching something new in centuries. I'm more interested in your duelling skills. I'll get your Hogsmeade permit signed, under one condition - you follow my instructions to a T and don't step out of line.
Are you any good at wordless magic? If not, get to practicing. I'll be testing you once we meet.
And drop the whole "uncle Richard" thing. You make me feel ancient.
