With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

oiled on a stone windowsill, Vivi stared out into the sky, looking down over the beautiful Hogwarts grounds. Loyalty compelled her to say that she preferred her own school, but honesty tended very much in the opposite direction, and she was vaguely uneasy about that. Not very much, though; she had plenty of things to be uneasy about before she got down to this sort of thing. It was scarcely on the radar.
It was lovely, though; all so green and alive. A faint smile lingered on the blonde's lips as she leaned back against the side of the window opening, closing her eyes and enjoying the feel of the autumn sun on her skin. Somewhere down in the depths of the freezing dungeons where she was spending her time at Hogwarts, there was a pile of Charms homework which she really should be getting on with, but at the moment, she quite simply couldn't be bothered. Anyway, it was so much nicer here, tucked away at the top of the Astronomy Tower with the whole world seeming to be at her feet, that she quite honestly had no intention of quitting her current position until she had absolutely no option. Even then, she suspected that it would take her a while to exert the necessary force of will to leave.
That was a problem for later, in any case. Just at the moment, she was doing her best to work out the details of a new piece of music. Not the easiest of tasks when she didn't have so much as a piece of paper and a pencil to note it down with, let alone any instrument to try it on, but she could hear the notes in her head almost as though they were ringing in the air around her, and there was one particular section which she simply could not get right...

Aimlessly the Durmstrang slytherin wasted valuable time wandering around the castle. Constantin was bored. He couldn’t find any interesting girls to pick up or boys to pick on. Perhaps he was hoping to find some new hidden locations or hidden details in this dusty caste. Grey stones decorated with countless moving paintings were passed. Students chattering and chuckling weren't interesting enough to make him stop. Stan found himself not hating Hogwarts as much as he had thought he would. If anything he hated the argument between his father and grandfather about most of it. Stan sided with his father on this one but it wasn't his place to speak up about it. This little sleepover was a stain on the Durmstrang pride.
Life went on. Classes continued. At least Stan could add more lovely ladies to his list of kissing partners or snogging partners as they called it here. No matter how lovely they were, Stan preferred the beautiful Durmstrang ladies.
Speaking of lovely Durmstrang ladies. "Oh, Vivica. I didn't expect to come across you," he said as he seemed to have entered one of the school's towers. Sitting down in front of her, he glanced over the paper she was working on. "Hah? Already working on a new piece? Does Hogwarts bore you that much?" He teased but actually considered it a sweet hobby. "You should try it out for me." VIVICA THOSTENSON,

O
h... some other time," Vivi murmured vaguely, hand automatically going to cover up what she'd been working on. It wasn't that she particularly objected to Stan seeing it, but he had never been one to refrain from making fun where the opportunity presented itself, and besides, she never really liked people to see and certainly not to hear her work before it was finished. Perhaps she was something of a perfectionist, but she never liked to say anything was finished until she'd been through it three or four (hundred) times to check she hadn't made any foolish mistakes.
Giving him a slight smile, she folded her parchment and straightened up, looking him up and down briefly. "How are you? Finding your way around?" Vivi was doing quite well, she thought, in learning the many corridors and stairways that made up the castle, and although she had to admit that she still set off confidently in entirely the wrong direction from time to time, she did at least have a vague idea of where she was going most of the time. Well, three quarters. Or maybe five eighths. More than half, in any case, which wasn't bad, all things considered.

"Come on, another time might never come. I get that you're a perfectionist but it's okay to share in complete work. Your stuff is usually good, come on. Step in the light and allow yourself to show off your skills," Stan said as his hand reached out to the work with a cocky smile. What did she expect him to do? Make fun of it? Oh, that actually sounded like something he would do. But only a friendly tease, that was normal right? It was not as if he was going to tear her apart. He was about to grab it when their hands touched and he got second thoughts. For a second when his hand was on hers, Stan looked her in the eye and pulled back. "Fine, just show me when it's done, alright?" He crossed his arms and huffed. "Why don't you play me another tune on your fiddle, Vivi? I could use some entertainment."
Stan watched his friend fold the parchment and let go of pursuit. The Slytherin male tilted his head and ran a hand through his thick hair. "Guess, I'm fine. Just a little bored. You seemed to be having a good time," he mused and shrugged at the mention of the castle. "There are several hidden passages I've discovered already which is pretty neat. Still not a fan of the house system. Like it's clever but also dumb at the same time. I hate not being able to hang with the others in the evening. Not that rules ever stopped me before," he grinned and wiggled his foot. "The Hogwarts kids are kind of competitive with their point battle. It's kind of cute." VIVICA THOSTENSON,

o, I'd really rather not." Merlin... Stan was tolerable, at least most of the time, but sometimes he could be downright insufferable, and today, Vivica just was not in the mood. For... well, anything, really. Honestly, you found a corner to be alone with your music for an hour or two, and almost as soon as you turned around, some other person was popping up behind you making conversation and wanting to know what was going on. As if that wasn't perfectly obvious... Sometimes she wondered if it ever occurred to them that, had she wanted an audience, she would have been down in one of the common rooms, or, hell, standing on a table in the Great Hall. So far as she could tell, it did not.
She sighed. "Can you not make your own entertainment?" It was like being in the company of a bored child, which, she supposed, she was, really, but a small bored child, not knowing what to do with himself now that he had finished reading his book and doing his homework. What was to be done about it, she'd no idea; she could hardly tell him to go and tidy his bedroom, although the idea did have a certain attraction...
Heavens, secret passages; that was all she needed. For all she knew, he could start sneaking up on her out of nowhere, and so, come to that, could anyone else. It was a distinctly unnerving idea and one which she wished had never occurred to her. "So, ah... Where is it that these secret passages go?" So long as it wasn't the showers...
