With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain

It was a long day where Rose had to face her fears, use a spell that was rather difficult and she was still trying to think of all the homework she had to do. Still she was not being very sad about it, she just wanted some cuddles and hot chocolate. The ginger found some chocolate in her bag and wondered if she could sneak out for some milk but instead she found her favorite person in the common room.
Rose admired her, honestly wondering what she was feeling inside because she had no idea what it was. She just liked Frankie and it was hard not to stare but she needed to get over herself and just put up a smile before approaching Frankie hoping she wasn’t caught staring earlier.
Rose held out some chocolate as she crawled on the couch with her. “Hey want some?” she asked and smiled a bit.

Sleep didn't come easy for Frankie for the past couple of months, and she had managed to find her way in the common room whenever the other girls were sleeping in their beds. For the past couple of years, Frankie had been wanting to hide away in her shell but as of the past summer, she wanted to fight for justice. Her parents killers were out there, and her brother was framed for their deaths even though he wasn't even near where they died at that time. He was with Frankie, and none of the detectives believed her. No one believed her and with no more living family, she was adopted by the Evans and was told she can do whatever she wanted to do.
She mostly kept to herself whenever she was home for the summer holidays, and would sometime ask if she can visit her brother in the Muggle prison, and they allowed her to see him. It was hard though, being without her rock and how he said that he would be okay. No, he wasn't going to be okay in there. She had seen the bruises on his face - he didn't keep his promise on staying out of trouble.
Frankie was curled up under a blanket, staring into the fire in the fireplace when she heard Rose's voice nearby, and she looked at her and the chocolate before taking it. "I couldn't sleep." she admitted and put the chocolate in her mouth before offering her some of the blanket.

Rose was worried for her, she really liked Frankie and this girl shouldn't have to suffer the way she did. Rose crawled under the blanket and cuddled up to Frankie, hot chocolate had to wait. The redhead wanted to make this girl feel better but she yet had to figure out how.
"Want to talk about it?" she offered and looked at her with her big brown eyes. Rose was not often the soft kind of girl who would hug someone until they feel better but Frankie looked like she needed just that, hugs and someone to tell her she'd be okay.
"I mean you don't have to, we can cuddle and talk about other things until you fall asleep?" Rose had a small smile on her red lips.

Frankie knew people around her were trying to help, trying to make sure she didn't have a breakdown because of how much she missed her big brother. She had her friends, her new family. They were patient, and her new family understood what she had been through. She knew some of them lost their real parents. They can relate but Frankie had hope that her brother would get out of prison and take her in, but he had said that if he were to be released he wouldn't be able to take care of a kid easily. That she was better off with the Evans family. It bugged her, but deep down she knew he was right.
"The Evans family said that's good to talk." she said and stared at the fire dancing. "They said it would help me in the long run because hiding from reality isn't healthy." she leaned her head back on the couch as she fought the emotions. She hated to cry in front of anyone. Especially Rose.

There was still worry on Rose's face as she looked at Frankie. The girl seemed so strong and Rose herself was surely not as strong as Frankie. She was a 13 year old of course but she wasn't stupid. She was more mature than any people in her year.
"It is good to talk about it, but only if you want to. You shouldn't feel forced to talk, it won't help it will just make you feel worse." she said and gave her a smile.
Frankie then mentioned she missed her brother and Rose just pulled her in a hug. She could see the cheating escape of tears breaking through at any time and she felt like Frankie could use a hug.
Thing was, Frankie didn't want to cry anymore. It's been two years, and the Muggle police didn't give a damn that an innocent man was rotting in prison. Sometimes she wondered if it was because he had an attitude toward their parents shortly before their deaths. But her brother would never hurt anyone, and no one believed Frankie when she said he was with her at the time of the deaths. No one would believe a kid, especially if she was close to the perp. As soon as she felt Rose hug her, she felt herself shake of emotions. The tears were finally spilling.
She sniffled softly, burying her face in her friend's shoulder. The lack of sleep was getting to her. "Why won't anyone listen to me when I say he didn't do it?" she sniffled. She felt like giving up but she needed to get him out of there before it killed him. "He's getting into fights in there. It can kill him."

Rose felt like she needed to help Frankie, the girl seemed so troubled and sad. This is what her mother would have done, help another person out because it was right. Rose hugged her and could feel her shoulders shock which was the result of crying. Poor Frankie.
"Well maybe." she broke the hug to look at Frankie and wiped her tears away with her perfectly manicured fingers. "Maybe we can find something to prove his innocence. The real person is still out there and your brother is obviously in need of help." she offered.
Rose was always told she should help the ones who needed her help, to use her smarts for good. "I believe you and we can try to prove your story, we just need to figure out how."

Frankie had her doubts about it all - and thought about how she can get her brother out of the prison. She needed him safe, and out of harms way but lately she had felt like giving up. She wanted to just tell them that they win, and her brother would have to spend the rest of his life in jail for a crime he didn't commit. She had no idea what else to do, he didn't want help and had told Frankie to live like a kid. She deserve to grow up without worrying about him. But how can she?
A sigh had left Frankie and she eyed her friend. "I've been trying. Trust me. I've been begging them to listen. But they're so bent on him being the guy that did it. They don't believe a child. They just wanted an easy case. Open and close." she said and leaned back, looking toward the fireplace.

Making adults listen was hard, especially when you yourself are so small. The ginger knew damn well it wasn't easy but she often had her ways to persuade but that was not going to help with the police of muggles would it? Her mother never really taught her about muggle laws.
"You need evidence." Rose said and looked at her with a nod. "I read a muggle law book in the library a few months ago out of boredeom and there was this thing about a certain amount of evidence has to be presented to the court to get an appeal." she said and smiled a bit.
"I know Scotland Yard will definitely try if you go to London and let them handle it?"
Post by FRANKIE EVANS on Apr 28, 2019 22:54:42 GMT
Frankie hadn't really thought of all the evidence - she didn't think about the one detail that can make the detectives face palm and be mad at themselves. The very thing the two were doing on her laptop was an online streaming thing. She was watching him play a video game, with the camera on and the timestamp right there. The thought of the word evidence should have brought her there but it took her too long to even think about it and Rose just cracked it open. That's when she broke out in smile, and nodded. She knew where to look but she needed to be at home for it. The needed the computer.
"One thing, I didn't think of until now. My brother was playing a video game. Streaming. Camera on. I believe if I got that footage I can prove it." she said and eyed her friend and sat forward a bit, looking at her friend. "You are a genius."

Honestly if Rose wasn't so bored most of the time she wouldn't have read law books or beg her mother to let her watch law series. They were interesting and Rose did consider a profession in law one day, maybe a lawyer? She would definitely do good. The redhead played with a lock of her own red hair and grinned a bit more when Frankie spoke of having evidence.
"Well there you go!" she replied, her hands still entwined with her own hair. "Go save your brother! I mean you have what you need to get him out." the girl spoke with a grin and bit her lip as Frankie leaned forward.
The desire to kiss her friend was there but she didn't want to push it - not now. She had no idea if Rose was even into that kind of thing and so she didn't dare to make a move. Last thing she needed was to ruin a perfectly friendship cause she felt something more about the redhead and she knew there was a high chance Rose didn't even think about her like that. So Frankie just stared at her, her eyes looking at her lips and she leaned back onto the couch. She needed to focus on saving her brother, get him out of that hellhole. He needed to be free, and he can have his life back.
"I feel like I owe you for being a shoulder to cry on. A good friend." she said and looked at her with a small smile. She would worry about getting her brother out during daylight hours - she knew he wasn't going anywhere tonight. In fact, he told her to enjoy her childhood and Hogwarts years.

Rose truly didn't know how she felt. She didn't think she'd like girls the way that girls liked boys. She didn't like boys, not that way. Maybe she was a bit broken? Should she tell her mother that something was wrong? Rose looked at Frankie, caught her staring which was strangely making her feel very good about herself.
"You can buy me a drink in Hogsmeade." She suggested with a slight grin. Surely she could afford a cup of tea or a butterbeer when they go out on their weekend trips.
Frankie needed a friend and Rose didn't mind being one. She just scooted closer and cuddled up to her.
Fighting for justice for her brother was something that carried her through the hard days while she was at school, and she knew she had to focus on that on another day as it was late in the evening right then. When she's free of doing classes, she'd write a letter to her adopted parents and tell them her plans. Right now, she just wanted to spend whatever time she had with Rose until the girl went off to bed cause it was rather late. She'll buy Rose drinks when they head to Hogsmeade during a weekend, that was a mental note.
She'd settle for the hug though and she just felt comfortable around the other girl. She was like her best friend, and she needed someone to lean on. She needed someone to keep her grounded while she fought for her brother.
There was a low laugh from the fourth year and she nodded her head with smile as she hugged her back, not wanting to let go. "You're the best."

Rose hugged the older Gryffindor to make her feel better. She remembered the moments where she was sad and her mother hugged her. Especially after her fights with Hugo which were not pretty. Hugo always seemed to know how to press her buttons when he shouldn't and Rose often got the blame, it was quite unfair but their mother would hug her to sleep.
"You know, we should probably get some sleep." She knew that it might not help Frankie but Rose was very capable of falling asleep right here. And since she didn't want to make Frankie uncomfortable, she figured she'd say it now rather than not say it at all.
"You're very welcome. I don't like seeing my friends upset."
