With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The Hogwarts library was a treasure trove of information. Durmstrang had a collection of books in various languages, but this was the most complete corpus of magical literature in English Ludwig would ever have access to. On the other hand, their 'Restricted' section provided the Durmstrang Alumni with quite a few moments of amusement. Not that it wasn't valuable, its just that many of the books they counted as restricted would be available to older Durmstrang students on a completely regular basis.
But that was to be expected of people, who feared expanding their horizons.
Most days Ludwig spent in relative peace, disturbed only by students looking for a book or two -- mostly Durmstrang ones, as the Hogwarts pupils seemed to avoid him. He'd already understood the system of this library -- he had a few improvements in mind, but something told him that the Hogwarts Librarian wouldn't be too happy about a stranger trying to make any changes in their little world. As a fellow librarian, Ludwig could respect that.
Today was different. Why? Because someone who barely ever entered the library back at home, sauntered right in like she owned the place.

As Ileana all but sauntered in the library, she had to admit that it had been a while since she'd set foot in one - and that was including the family library at home which was positively stuffed with books. It wasn't that she found books particiularly boring - no, after all, their pages made excellent kindling for a fire (although her mother disagreed whilst screaming her lungs out at Ileana once upon a time) - it was just that generally, she had something better to do.
In fact, even now as she stood in the library, she had something more exciting to do than just read. See, she had found the most magnificent ad written in the Daily Prophet by some... Weasley Wizard Wheezes, advertising all sorts of sweets for sale that they definitely didn't sell over in Romania. Ileana, in all of her fantastic wisdom, had ordered the lot and it had arrived this morning. It hadn't taken her very long at all to come up with a plan on the best way to use them.
Reaching into her bag, Ileana pulled out a floral tin container, moving towards the desk where the oh-so-stuffy librarian stood, looking like he was in dire need of some cheering up. "Good morning," Ileana began, a sweet smile toying at her lips. "I was asked to drop these off - apparently there's an assortment of sweets inside? It's a 'let's work in harmony!' present, or so I've been told."

NOTES: Ileana has filled the tin with a variety of Skiving Snackbox sweets.
"Good morning, Domnișoară Dascălu," he greeted her, his back straight as an arrow, as protocol required. She was the Headmaster's granddaughter, after all, even if she had the reputation of a conniving, good-for-nothing troublemaker. Not that he'd ever say that out loud.
"It is a surprise to see you here," he continued, eyeing the tin of sweets with visible suspicion, "If I may ask, who is this box from? And why are you the one tasked to be the messenger? Surely they could find someone less important to do their legwork, no?"
Ludwig took the box from and placed it in front of him. Perhaps he was just overthinking it and Ileana's father had asked her to deliver it to Ludwig after some staff meeting had been conducted, which the library assistant hadn't been aware about? His position in the hierarchy of the staff wasn't all that important, many meetings back at Durmstrang had no need for his attendance, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to be out of the loop in Hogwarts, too.
But Ileana wasn't one to be trusted, that much Ludwig knew from hearsay alone.
