With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Classes were over for today, it has been her first day in classes and she already wanted to cry. Not because she was bullied or people upset her, no, because she was a little clumsy and hit her shin against a door post while trying to slip past someone. It resulted into a pain that she hated to feel and Izzy had a small limp as she made her way outside. Izzy didn't like being inside the castle, there was no sense of fresh air and the outside air was way better than the castle smells.
Izzy had found a tree that she could easily climb into, even with a limp, and let out a happy sigh when she sat down on the thick branch and looked over the castle grounds. Sometimes she wished she had an easier time adjusting to new situations but she was comfortable around her own friends, her own people and her own cat.
Speaking of her cat, the little beast was spotted lying in the shadow of the tree Izzy climbed into and it was really one of those moments where Izzy felt that she underestimated the little beast. There was a smile as she grabbed her bag, intending to sketch some of her new classmates but of course her pencil fell right down out of her bag. Izzy looked down as it fell and noticed a guy was about to either get hit by it or avoid it by the width of a hair.
"Oh crap!" she grumbled. "Hey handsome one, mind handing me that pencil?" she asked hoping it would be a nice guy who was going to hand her that pencil and not be a douchebag stealing it for some reason.
These days, Dio relied on calming draught and other substances to get through the day. Preferably he wouldn’t attend classes at all but he knew he’d be in deep shit if Vito found out. So it was better to attend half assed than nothing at all. Not that he really cared about school marks. He didn’t want to work a fancy job with a bunch of pretentious pricks anyways.
He was feeling dizzy, sleepy and not quite present in the world, weak even. Exactly the effect he was going for as it was supposed to prevent him from having a meltdown and hurt people. However after class it was less convenient so he decided to get some fresh air. Unfortunately he didn’t get too far and decided to rest against a tree with a cat laying in it’s shadow for a moment. The Slytherin was just about to fall into a nap when a voice alarmed him and set him in alert mode. If it weren’t for the warning call, he most definitely would’ve been hit. His body moved quicker than his brain or perhaps he didn’t register everything correctly because when Dio blinked, he seemed to hold something.
Dio looked around and found a person in a tree. Handsome? This one wasn’t right in her mind, any sensible person would… Oh hold up, she wasn’t a Hogwarts student wasn’t she? There were actually people in this school now who didn’t know him yet. People who didn’t see the five years of terror that was Dio Greyback. He knew he was somehow different now but didn’t exactly know who the heck he was supposed to be now. It left him in an uncanny valley. Identity crisis aside, the girl in that tree had a vibe around her that very much lured him in.
Now girls weren’t exactly on his mind right now but he couldn’t slip the opportunity. What was the worst that could happen? The entirety of Hogwarts already hated him, sure he could handle another person. After debating in his head, he carefully bit down the pencil making sure not to leave marks and started climbing the tree so he could hand it back to her. Of course he would have thrown it backup or used his wand but his mind wasn’t really working properly. Somehow he managed to get in the tree and sad on the adjacent branch. Now what? Dio had never done proper talk with a stranger before so for a second he just stared intensely with a pencil in his mouth. Well that must have looked stupid. He quickly took it from his mouth and handed it back.
Dio struggled finding the right thing to say. For once he was actually trying and all his past experiences were failing. Perhaps he shouldn’t try too hard. Just sitting peacefully next to a person was a big achievement already. Content with where he was, he took out his knife and dragon bone to continue on his craft.

Izzy half expected a comment of sorts coming from the boy but instead she got.. silence. Truth be told she wondered if he could even speak but then she remembered she shared a classroom with him and he definitely had words on his tongue when he was there. Maybe it was peer pressure? Or the male desire to speak one's mind whenever females were around as a way of impressing them? Izzy was quite uncertain of what to believe here, what to think or what to say because his silence was.. confusing.
She watched him climb the tree and it was quite a sexy view for sure. Izzy licked her lips for a moment, not bothering to hide that she was quite into this guy at the moment but things could change. For example, he could speak and words could easily change everything now couldn't they? Izzy gladly took the pencil after being intensely stared at. "You know if you are a mind reader, words can be quite handy in a conversation now that we share a tree," she offered and tapped her pad with the pencil.
Dio scraped off a tiny bit of bone, making an ear shape in the tiny wolf head. As he blew the scraped bone off, he looked once more at the Durmstrang girl. The words made the corners of his mouth twitch, making the tiniest bit of a chuckling sound. “No, I’m not a mind reader. I’m just… A little high right now. Don’t tell the teachers,” he admitted eventually, sounding more casual than he initially thought he would. “Words can be quite useful when they’re not being tiny bastards.” Sometimes his head couldn’t properly stick them together.
The Slytherin leaned a little against the trunk, moving a bit closer to the other tree person. “I’m Dio, named after Dionysus the Greek god of wine. Unfortunately, I do not have wine with me but I could offer you some vodka,” he suggested with a little grin. As he leaned over to hand his flask, he caught a glimpse of the girl’s work. “What are you drawing?”
