With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

save the ghost lights
St. Mungo's could rarely be described as peaceful. Yes, caring for their long-term patients was routine at this point, even though the spells that affected them always seemed to come up with new ways to surprise the healers. But it was the acute cases that required them to leap into action, and while Padma felt that many of them could be preventable, her heart still ached every time she had someone's life on the line. It happened far too often--it was why they were here, but it was still too much.
Still, Padma had found the chance to lean on her desk for a moment, a short break before finishing the rest of her shift, and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath to steady herself. Going to work frightened her much less with the leader of the attacks on the hospital in Azkaban, but new and unsettling things that reminded her too much of the war were always happening. There were her two little boys among all those Durmstrang students, who were not supposed to be like they were under Karkaroff, but who knew...
"Ms. Joshi, we need you." She was interrupted by one of the trainee healers, a young man who seemed out of breath from running to get her. "It's an Auror--he's had some spell damage." The words made Padma breathe in sharply, remembering the career that had ended her husband's life. "I'm coming," she said, standing up straighter and following the trainee down the hall. "Any more detail you can give me now?"

Sometimes when you think you’ve caught the bad guy, they’ve got one more trick up their sleeves. Such was the case for Derek today. A successful capture ended with an embarrassing and painful twist. The auror and his team were surrounding the big bad after a long and bloody fight. They were locking him in while the heavily wounded Derek was leaning on a chair giving the orders. That was when one final curse was thrown. A wandless non verbal curse that took them off guard. Derek could only describe it as some messed up transfiguration experiment gone wrong. As soon as a purple light hit him, the chair started merging with his arm. It was as if they were melting into a new thing. It was a sort of pain that outdid all the wounds he already had. It got so bad that his colleague had to knock him out with a full body bind before the weird fusion would get dangerous and take up his entire body. Time stopped as his entire left arm was melted into a chair and from there, Derek’s mind was blank.
That was when he woke up. “AAGHHH! Get this bloody thing off me,” the auror hissed in pain as now the body bind jinx was done, the fusion slowly continued.
Note: this is a non existing curse, I made it up as I went. You can make up whatever cure.

save the ghost lights
Someone with a weaker stomach might have had to turn their head away from the curse that was working its way through the Auror's arm, pulling at the flesh relentlessly. As it was, Padma had seen worse--although this was certainly high on the list of curses that made her grit her teeth, hoping they wouldn't be too late to cure the effects of what was clearly advanced dark magic.
What did unsettle Padma, though, was that she recognized immediately the face that was contorted in pain on the bed in front of her. They got Aurors in the hospital fairly often, as the nature of their job demanded it, so Padma was used to seeing them--but this was one she could introduce by name, could tell about his whole life story--and how it connected with hers.
"Alright, Derek. Try to move as little as possible," Padma said, even knowing that at that level of pain, it would be a difficult favor to ask. She had never seen this particular curse before, but in her line of work, counter-curses came as easily to her as Wingardium Leviosa. "If you could get bandages and pain potions, please?" she asked the trainee, as she began to speak spells, running her wand against the unfortunate place where the Auror was connected to the chair. Slowly, the skin began returning to the arm, although it looked like an entirely painful process, blood beginning to pool on the wounded skin. She hoped the other healer would return with the potions soon.

Derek grinded his teeth and tried not to scream the entire hospital awake. While this definitely wasn’t the first time he ended up here, neither in the worst condition, the feeling this curse gave wasn’t only pain but uncanny. It was freaking him out because his nerves started to connect with the chair and he was actually feeling it as part of him. Heck no he didn’t want to become a chair. At this point he didn’t even want to look.
Derek carefully peered through his eye at a familiar voice. “Ah, Padma. How I wish we could’ve met under better circumstances. How are the kids?” he tried to talk through the pain as if it was just every other Tuesday. That was probably because for both of them, this was every other Tuesday. They’ve been here many times before. It was sort of nice to have the former Ravenclaw treat him. While she had been a year above him, they had shared some classes together. Before the death eater takeover of course.
“Oh, Padma. Please be gentle. I’m a sensitive soul,” he joked but laid still soon after just as he was asked to. During the process he had to practice breathing techniques to keep calm and fight through the pain until a saving potion would show up. “Fuck,” he twitched as in sped up frame, his skin started growing back. With the chair gone, his muscles and nerves were temporarily exposed to the outside air. Which felt like he was being stung with a million needles at the same time. Through the pain, he lifted his thumb up to singal he was doing okay considering the circumstances.
