With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Quirks and Habits: - Ileana's first language is Romanian and she often enjoys speaking only Romanian in classes. Why? It's not because she doesn't know many other languages - in fact, she can speak four fluently - but it's because not many people in Durmstrang speak Romanian and annoying them is hilarious. - Ileana is an adrenaline junkie and more often than not, you can find her doing things to cause up a stir. Quite often, she finds fun in freaking others out by balancing precariously along windsills. She'll even add a fake 'about to fall' moment to keep her spectactors hearts lodged in their throats. - Ileana is ambidextrous. Growing up, this was something that irked her mother quite a bit because she believed Ileana would never learn to write properly unless she stuck to keeping the quill in one hand. Ileana quickly picked up on this cause of frustration and started switching hands whilst writing more often. - She does not like owls. At all. She was attacked by one as a child - okay, and maybe she provoked it - and now she flinches whenever they're near. She refuses to have her own family owl.
Likes: drama, being the bringer of chaos, drinking, luring people out of their comfort zones, dancing, flirting, dosing people with potions, Quidditch
Dislikes: owls, muggles (a mild dislike), being referred to as 'the Headmaster's granddaughter' or 'the Ancient Runes professor's daughter' when everyone should know her name, family expectations
Boggart: Her family all gathered together. She doesn't want her mother back in her life, thank you very much. She's perfectly content with the backbone lacking woman out of it.
Mirror of Erised: Being in an occupation other than teaching
Patronus: A bee
history
2013 - Bored at home, missing her father greatly, Ileana had perfected the art of eliciting the most wonderful reactions from her mother by the age of ten. Her rough schedule looked like this: wake up at 5am, wake her brother Constantin up at 5.05am, toast the entire loaf of bread mother had baked the day before until the house began vaguely smelling of smoke, blame Constantin when their mother awoke in a huff, do the homework expected of her whilst humming at the top of her lungs, very slowly eat the dinner her mother prepared to the point where it took almost an hour to finish her entire plate, 'accidentally' tread water down the hall after her bath, and get up approximately 1386 times after being put to bed for a glass of water.
2015 - Sitting down with her father in his Ancient Runes office with Constantin and receiving the news that when they returned home, their mother wouldn't be there. Even though their father reassured them that it was a failure on their mother's behalf, Ileana knew that she was to blame: "you and your brother are too much of a handful," she'd heard her mother say many times before.
Instead of admit that to her peers when they asked, Ileana got into the habit of crafting the greatest and most out there stories instead until they gave up on wanting to know why. Some of Ileana's favourite tales that she spun were her mother falling off a hippogriff and drowning in a lake, her mother sneaking into the dragon reserve and receiving third degree burns, and her mother deciding to be Amish and flouncing off to America.
2019 - Receiving the news that she'd have to leave Durmstrang, her home, and join Hogwarts instead. Unlike many of her peers who were devastated over leaving, a smile graced Ileana's face because now, there was so much more fun to be had and she intended on wreaking havoc at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
As Alex sat at the Ravenclaw, 'basking' in the news that a whole bunch of Durmstrang students would be joining their school, one crystal clear thought ran through his mind: I don't want to be here.
It wasn't the first time he'd thought that this evening, but it was the most strongly he'd thought it. He'd read in books and heard from other students that Durmstrang didn't accept muggleborns. At all. They didn't think that muggleborns - like himself - were worthy of achieving a magical education. Even though it probably wasn't fair to judge and stereotype a whole group of people he'd never even met before, Alex had a lurking feeling that they were predispositioned to hate him already just based on that.
After filling his plate with a few bread rolls and chicken thighs, Alex had only just begun picking at his food when a voice floated into his ears - wait, were they talking to him? Glancing up, Alex blinked at the girl with red hair who was apparently trying to converse with him. Uh. "I... er... the first years don't ask me for directions in the first place," he mumbled, before shaking his head. "Aren't you... a prefect? Aren't you meant to help people?"
