With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
My name is Edward Lupin, more commonly known as Teddy Lupin and I was recently framed for the attack on St Mungo's Hospital. I am writing to you as I realise that whilst the criminal is still at large, none of us are safe. Whilst I hold no love for the person that I believe committed this heinous act, I have struggled with the decision to let the Ministry know who I suspect.
As a werewolf, please understand that I offer this information to you with a very heavy heart. I would request also that you promise to not misuse the information to aprehend anyone for simply being in the same group as the werewolf involved. I am aware that there were several people involved in the attack, but my information is solely in regards to the person who used polyjuice potion to frame me.
Can I trust that you will do the right thing? I am about to become a father and wish that our world will be a little more peaceful, but I do not want to be a part of the Ministry's persecution of innocent werewolves.

I am unsure why you have chosen me to divulge this information to given the fact that your uncle is the Department Head, however I assure you that I will use whatever information you wish to share with me to the best of my ability.
Whilst I cannot ensure that the other members of the group will not be spoken to, nobody will be arrested for simply living their life and as I'm sure you are aware, the person in charge of leading the St. Mungos attack is of the utmost interest. Not only did they lead an attack, they purposefully mislead the Ministry by impersonating another person using the Polyjuice Potion and in the process, tarnished your reputation.
I am aware that contacting my Uncle Harry would probably make the most sense. Unfortunately we're not on the best of terms at the moment and this is a matter of urgency. I've been manhandled by too many of the aurors under Potter since the St Mungo incident to bring myself to trust any of them. Are you aware that most of your colleagues treat werewolves as little more than a rabid crup they've confiscated from an illegal fighting ring? Even as the godson of their Head of Department, I left my interogation with far more bruises than when I entered.
Moving along, I appreciate that you did not sugar-coat or make false promises of protection.
The only member of the pack that could have used a polyjuice potion to impersonate me is Verandi Farley. She is Tyr Greyback's right-hand woman and a vicious werewolf that I do not care to spend too much time with if I can help it. About a week or so before the attack, she uncharacteristically contacted me to meet with her in the Scottish National Park of The Trossachs. The letter included a portkey that took me to a camp ground with several tents and a large campfire. If I had to guess, it would have been close to the pack's main abode. We shared tea and discussed how we might... peacefully protest the imprisonment of the children.
Looking back, it was a stupid hope. You can understand why I was so surprised when aurors came ahead of the Evening Prophet, claiming I had attacked St Mungo's.
I do not want to make things worse for werewolves, which is why I have kept the information enclosed in this letter close to my heart until now. I've been convinced since then that the only way to make the world a safer place for my unborn child is to ensure Verandi is captured. I have old friends from school that I happen to know are within the pack so I do not want to make their lives more miserable than the Ministry already makes them.
I've sent the portkey to you - I hope that one of your trusted colleagues can make it function again or at least give you a trace of the place it is linked to.

I do not handle interrogations any more nor do I approve of the rough handling of any suspect, however I suggest that your best course of action is to file a formal complaint if you're unhappy with the treatment you received when in custody.
I see. Thank you very much for this information, Mr. Lupin. It's invaluable, and it will assist us greatly when we go to bring her in. It's fortunate that you managed to keep the portkey, instead of disposing of it, as it's a great piece of evidence to support your claims. I understand that you likely already know this but I suggest next time you go to meet someone you typically have differing views from, you bring another person along with you for your own safety.
Do you believe your unborn child may be in danger from Verandi Farley? Has she sent any threatening letters? I only ask because if she has, then the Ministry will do their best to ensure that an innocent, unborn child is protected from werewolves and they will investigate any possible threats.
Again, thank you for sharing this information with myself and the Ministry.
I appreciate your guidance in regards to the mishandling of werewolves by aurors, however I have very little faith left in the Department that I had once aspired to join like my mother. I doubt that my official complaint would be worth the paper its written on and I cannot afford to be so wasteful, after the ability to acheive gainful employment was stripped from my person from graduation. Regardless, I will strive to ensure that one day soon werewolves will be treated fairly; that no other person will suffer the injustice I have done this past month.
Hind-sight is always 20/20, isn't it, Mrs Grimblehawk? I will have to find someone without a life so that I can always have a second person with me as everyone's views differ in this world. If I suspected everyone of malicious intent without reasonable grounds, I'd be no better than the Ministry themselves. No, thank you. Of course now I know that some high ranking members of the Trossachs pack have little to no integrity, yes I will obviously be more careful when I attempt to liaise with them.
I believe anyone is in danger when it comes to dealing with Verandi Farley. However, I don't see any reason why she would threaten the safety of a child she should know nothing about - so far she has not attempted further communication with me. If she does, my own pack will handle the security risk, thank you.
For the people that were the unfortunate victims of the St Mungo's attack, I do wish you and your colleagues the best of luck in apprehending Verandi. I need not warn you to stay away during the full moon.
