With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
It's been quite a while since I've written to you, little brother. The French vineyards are hard work all year around, believe it or not. I apologize to you and to our family (I've sent Ma and Pa another letter, this one is just for you, s o don't feel forced to share with them) for not writing more often. I also want to apologize to you specifically for missing your last two birthdays. I'll make it up to you one day, I swear.
How have you been, Damian? Do you have a job? If yes, where? If no, perhaps I could offer you some advice?

Dear Vaughn,
It feels like I haven't heard from you in forever! I'll forgive you for missing my birthdays, as long as maybe I can visit you for the next one. I really want to take a trip somewhere, and I bet the weather in France is way better than it is here. I'm working at Gringotts and I haven't got more than a couple days off at a time in almost a year now, but I hope that means they would let me take a trip in August. What do you think?

I really can't complain about the weather. A lot more sun than back home in Scotland, perhaps once in my life I'm not suffering from vitamin D deficiency. Though the owner of the vineyard says that it could be better...Guess I'll find out.
Gringotts? I didn't take you to be very business-minded, Damian! Has something changed in the last few years and you've decided to take after me?
Ah, August...I'd love to host you, but August is right when the busiest part of year starts for us. How about you remind me sometime mid-July and I'll see what I can do? Maybe I'll be able to score some vintage for you to taste. Your birth year? Or Ma's?

Dear Vaughn,
See, that's why I need to visit you! I spend so much time indoors that I'm probably paler than the Grey Lady. The goblins don't give me a lot of breaks. They don't seem to mind being underground all the time, but I just stand in the lobby and already miss the sun.
I really wanted to be a Curse-Breaker for the bank, but it didn't happen, as you can see. I know it's been less than a year, but I already feel like I'll never escape from this job. Sometimes I wish I was "business-minded" so I could at least enjoy something about being here.
That's why I need a vacation. I guess I'll remind you then. My birth year seems right for my birthday, but I don't think I've ever had something old enough to be really fancy--you pick?

Ah, that must really be a bore. Fetching them lunch and such? That's how all these corporate internships begin, and all I can suggest is showing yourself from a better side, prove to them that you're worth more than a busy boy. Don't know how exactly, you'll have to keep your eyes peeled for opportunities. If I suddenly hear anything that could interest your bosses, you'll be the first to hear.
I'll put a little bit more effort into my work, and maybe the vineyard owner will let us get one of the real old vintages. They've got wines from 1895 here -- can you imagine?
