With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ben was sat at his desk, music on somewhat loud. Pencil tapping against the mass of papers he was grading, let’s face it the man was a workaholic. The sun was shining in through his office window. It was setting a sign that he had been in his office since classes had ended that day. The soft humdrum of 90’s grunge music could be herd over the scratching of his pencil, his back hit the hardwood chair as he exhaled a breath.
Standing from the position he had been in for the last 2 hours, he walked over to his cabinet finding the rustic looking mead cup and his bottle of whiskey. He went to sit in the huge bay window of his office that looked out across the school grounds. It dident seem like that long ago he was scurrying around the corridors of this school as a student as opposed to now teaching.
Pouring the whiskey into the mead cup, he walked over to the radio and turned it up a little as he folded away from the remainder of his work. All of the third years exams were finally graded and now he could somewhat relax, from the corner of his eye he spotted a small fluffy tabby and white cat slinking its way over to him “Ahh Percy is it that time of day old friend” he said placing the mead cup on his desk, as he rifled through his draws for percys food, Grabbing teh small bowl he always kept for his food he placed the pouch in the bowl and pushed it over to him, smoothing the fluffy cats fur down as he retook his seat in the bay window with his cup in hand.

It was somewhat quiet around the grounds, and Gwyn was taking advantage of it. Once the classes had ended that day, she knew most students would go outside and relax or head to their dorms to study for their upcoming exams. It didn’t surprise the woman at all, knowing it was around the time where stress was the biggest problem at Hogwarts. She could remember the days where she’d study her ass off and reward herself with a cup of tea back in the day. God, it had been so long since she would award herself for some tasks, maybe she should pick it back up again.
There was a low sigh from the Professor as she walked outside, her eyes on the greenhouses for a second and then stopped to stretch her back. It was sometimes painful to sit down for far too long and she was grading papers just a few minutes ago before she decided to walk.
As she stood there, she looked down at the ground and noticed a couple of ditched candy wrappers. ” There’s a thing called a damn trashbin…” she grumbled, leaning down to pick up the litter. Some students had no respect for the school, sometimes it made her want to pass out some detentions.
She turned slowly to look toward the window and noticed Professor Madge, giving him a little wave in the window and smiled softly.
Ben was the type of guy to wave back, of course he was. Since his brothers disappearance and his wifes death, he had somewhat kept to himself, But other professors he liked. He had a fondness for the rest of the faculty, He smiled back at professor mason, waving her to come inside. It wasent often that ben had visitors that wernt his students, He looked a little worst for wear the herbology professor barely slept these days, of course it was all due to worry of course, worry over the boys, worry over his brother.
He opened the window a crack “Come on in” He yelled to the other professor, as he placed the mead cup down on his table, if he was expecting company he had better put the kettle on or place the bottle of whiskey on the table. It was no news to anyone that ben had a bit of a drinking proplem , never around his students but when it was his time, it was the only way he could relax. Since his wifes death ben had leant on it like crutch.
Smoothing the his shirt and and trousers down, he sat back in the window of his office, the radio was now thumping out something soothing. An accoustic artist known as ben howard, ben had listened to music days to fill the void, he drank from his mead cup and smiled bopping his head long to the music.

Gwyn could barely remember her old classmates and other students, but some she could. For example, she remembered Jack and her dormmates. The woman could remember passing Ben in the corridors of the castle but never saw him as a friend back then. But since they’ve been working in the same place for quite some time now, and she respected all her co-workers, she didn’t mind some friendly interaction. When she heard Ben yell for her to come in, she gave him a nod and headed for the door of the office, opening it slowly and closed it.
Gwyn heard the music, chuckling softly as she walked a bit into the room and looked at her fellow Professor. ”Long day, Professor?” she asked as she found the trashbin and ditched the candy wrappers there.
Ben laughed “Long day is not the word for it” He said ruffling his own hair, the bags under his eyes an ever present reminder, that sleep eluded him more often than not, placing the mead cup down he yawned as he made for his kettle “Cup of tea professor?” he asked as he herd the kettle whistling, his office was remarkably clean for once, of late he hadent really had the time to clean it between class and everything else.
Grabbing his old rustic arm chair “Please take a seat” he said smiling at her, as he motioned back over to the kettle, He prefered to have company, especially with how he was feeling at the moment, Ben kept a collection of custom tea mugs all with viking runes on them, all different colours his wife was a potter a good one, she made all sorts. Now it was the only thing left of her, grabbing one of the bigger mugs from his tree. He poured the water in ontop of the tea bag and the sugar. Walking back over to the table “One cup of tea” he said smiling as he grabbed his mead cup.

”Oh, please,” Gwyn said as Ben offered a cup of tea. Honestly, after the day she had that day, she needed a break and a nice cup of tea to calm herself down some. She had planned to go see her daughter but knew there was a chance of her studying and she wasn’t going to interrupt that. She heard from Casey that the girls planned a study date that evening. Her daughter didn’t need her hovering all the time despite her wanting to keep an eye on her since Cassidy’s nightmares had come back.
Gwyn smiled, taking a seat and crossed her leg over the other as she waited for the tea to get done. ”Have you gone outside at all in the past couple of days?” Gwyn asked as she looked toward the window. When he arrived with the tea, she took it and smiled. ”Thank you,” she said politely.
Ben smiled as he handed over her cup of tea, of course the herbology professor was not drinking tea. Whiskey was his poison for today, well had been for the last like 3 months. If you payed close attention to ben, you knew the days he dealt with things harsher, like today. Classes were a breeze compared to the constant fear the ministry would find you brother dead eaten alive by somthing.
"In the last couple of days probably only twice and both of those were at past midnight" he said coughing as the whiskey hit the back of his throat, a clear indicator he had probably been drinking since class ended, He walked over to his window and opened it.
