With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Kitty hummed softly to herself as she made her way into the common room, glancing around for familiar faces and sighing slightly as it became apparent that the room was more or less empty, which meant that not even she could find anyone that she recognised amongst the vacant chairs and empty sofas. She placated herself by sinking down into the most comfortable chair, close to the fireplace, which she took any opportunity that she could find to occupy. For a moment, the blonde simply sat there, watching the hands of the clock moving around, then she bent to open her bag and rummaged through its contents for some time, eventually coming out with a musical score and a quill, both of which she dropped into her lap as she produced a bottle of ink, which she placed on the table beside her. Thus prepared, she flipped open the score to the first page, dipped her quill, and began working her way through methodically. Or at least, as methodically as Kitty ever did anything; chaos was more or less her defining feature.
Merlin, though, it was boring being on her own! Her concentration lasted a total of five minutes before she found herself glancing around the empty room once again, eyes frequently lingering on the door, waiting for someone exciting to come and keep her company. No, this would never do.

Vi had gotten... not lost, per se, on the way to the Ravenclaw tower but more so distracted as she caught sight of one of the older Gryffindor boys and let her feet take over controlling her body. It wasn't until she wound up in front of the Gryffindor with a very unimpressed Fat Lady staring down at her, proclaiming that no, she may not enter the common room that she realised that she wasn't where she was supposed to be. Whoopsies. "I'll be super duper good, I promise. No shenanigans. Best behaviour only, I promise," Vi said with what she believed to be her sweetest smile as she glanced up at the portrait with puppy dog eyes only to receive a withering glare back.
This was not going well and taking a step back as another Gryffindor student came over to say the password, Vi just knew there was no way she was getting into the common room. So she took on plan b which was to sneak furtive looks into the room every time the portrait swung back until she spied someone of interest which... ah, she did! Taking her window of opportunity, Vi sing-songed at the top of her lungs, "KITTY KAT, COME OUTSIDE AND JOIN ME SO I'M NOT SUPER DUPER LONELY, YOU SWEET THING YOU!" before putting her hands up in front of her innocently as the Fat Lady cleared her throat. "I didn't go in, I just asked someone to come out." Now it was just a matter of whether Kitty would or not.

The blonde nearly jumped out of her skin as she heard a loud and very familiar voice calling to her. Merlin! Vi certainly had a pair of lungs on her, but even so, Kitty was not convinced that she ought to be able to hear her from all the way over in Ravenclaw Tower... But no! Looking over towards the portrait hole, she caught a glimpse of her Ravenclaw friend out in the corridor just as the Fat Lady swung closed, and she leaped to her feet, nearly tripping over the legs of her own chair in the process. Still, there was no time to bemoan her habitual clumsiness; she couldn't keep Vi waiting! She made her way across the common room as quickly as she could without a repeat of her earlier stumbling performance and pushed open the Fat Lady's portrait, ignoring the occupant's affronted huff as she did so. She was a Gryffindor, after all! She had every right to open the exit of her own common room.
"Vi-vi!" the blonde exclaimed, throwing her arms around the Ravenclaw and drawing her into the tightest hug which she could possibly manage. "What brings you all the way over here? Looking fabulous, as usual!" So far as she was concerned, all her friends looked wonderful all the time, no matter whether they were dolled up for a dance or had just dragged themselves out of bed and were sprawled on the common room sofa in their pyjamas with their hair all over their face. It was just one of those things. Beauty was in the eye of the beholder, after all...

Kitty, as always, was a sight for sore eyes and Vi beamed at the appearance of her good friend, giving her a great big squeeze back. "Anyone ever tell you that you're the cutest patootiest fourth year Gryffindor girl named Kitty?" Vi said with a giggle, swinging Kitty around a teeny tiny bit. When she drew back, Vi's fingers were instantly on the girl's absolutely stunning blonde hair, twirling the strands around her fingers. Gosh, it was just so long and luscious - a total juxtaposition to Vi's short, dead straight blonde hair.
"Hmm, I was going to try and see if I could get a great big smoochie woochie off that sixth year boy but he's disappeared. How sad," she said, though the great big smile on Vi's lips hinted that she was anything but sad. Kissing was fab and all, yet she adored spending time with her friends even more. "What are you doing? Something great, I'm sure. There's never a dull moment in the life of Catherine Dennison, I'm convinced of that!"

The blonde giggled. "But there's not a lot of competition in that category," she pointed out with a grin on her lips that more or less belied the peevish tone that she was unsuccessfully trying to adopt. Peevishness was not something that came naturally to Kitty; she was difficult to insult, though not to upset, and she had an inbuilt tendency towards living in the moment rather than dwelling in the past. Accordingly, she had no real idea of how one was supposed to go about sounding peevish in the first place, and the Gryffindor girl was no actress anyway.
"So sad," she agreed, as solemnly as she could contrive in the face of Vi's... well, just Vi in general. "You'll just have to find someone else." She grinned- she was entirely sure that no one on earth would ever be able to turn the Ravenclaw down when she was in one of her affectionate moods. Apart from anything else, they wouldn't get the chance. "And I'm actually not doing anything much! How about you?"

"It's because you're in a league all of your own," Vi said with a very serious nod, before she cracked a split second later and started grinning once more. Her attempts at being anything but cheerful were very much the same as Kitty's - a complete and utter failure.
You'll have to find someone else. Immediately, Vi's bottle green eyes skimmed over her friend consideringly because... well, combined with the grin her friend gave her, it almost sounded like Kitty was offering up herself. Never one to be shy, Vi let out an upbeat hum before saying lightly, "Maybe I will... I meaaaaaannnn, I'm starting to wonder if I have to look very far or not." The smile that slide onto Vi's pink painted lips this time was a mixture of cheeky and flirtatious as she met Kitty's eyes.

"Just like you!" Kitty returned happily. When it came to handing out compliments, she was quite confident that she could keep pace with any opponent that one cared to mention, mostly because she got such a lot of practice at it, but Vi was probably as close as it came to posing a threat. She absolutely adored the Ravenclaw, and made sure to tell her that at least once every time they met. Sometimes several times.
She folded her hands together in front of her and leaned back against the wall, surveying the other blonde with a smile lurking somewhere around the corners of her lips. "I guess that depends on what you're looking for, doesn't it?" That was a perfectly logical supposition so far as Kitty was concerned. She wouldn't have to go very far to find a block of stone, after all, but if she was looking for a diamond, it would be considerably further.

Vi lit up like a Christmas tree as Kitty returned the compliment, reaching over to flick some strands of the other girl's blonde hair. "Golly gumdrops, you're smooth," she declared with an air of finality, nodding.
As Kitty leaned back against the wall, she looked the very picture of confidence, something that was absolutely endearing to see in a castle full of typically insecure teenagers. Vi loved it, and she took a step towards Kitty and into her personal space as the blonde threw back 'I guess that depends on what you're looking for' at her. "I thinkkkk what I'm looking for is right in front of my face," she sing-songed, before taking yet another step forward. If she was wrong, this was going to be super duper awkward... This time as Vi reached for Kitty's hair, she curled the locks behind her ears, waiting to see if Kitty was going to give her the looktm before she made her move.

The blonde giggled. "Well, I guess you must have found it then," she observed, tilting her head slightly to allow the other girl to move her hair. That tickled! Kitty managed not to giggle again, just about; she didn't want to sound hysterical; but she couldn't help allowing her mouth to stretch into a bright grin. Extending her arms, she wrapped them tightly around her friend, squeezing her into the biggest hug that she could possibly manage. There was nothing that Kitty loved more than being around people, and Vi was so lovely to start with that it just made it even more fun every time she saw her! Glancing down, she met the Ravenclaw's eyes and gave her a tiny wink. Later, she thought, she really would have to remember to show Vi the little spot by the lake that she'd found the other day. It was so beautiful, and she knew that the other blonde appreciated beauty just as she did.

The great, big, sunny grin that passed Kitty's lips was enough to have Vi's heart soaring because she loved seeing her friends happy. Of course, the soaring in her heart only grew moments later as she was embraced in a great big hug which she returned just as eagerly. "I like your shampoo," Vi declared, voice muffled by hair as she buried her face into Kitty's shoulder for a moment.
Then drawing back, she saw the wink. Yes, definitely a sign for smooching.,, Vi was certain of it. Gently cupping the side of Kitty's face and Merlin, her skin was smooth, Vi smiled gently at her friend before leaning in and pressing her lips against her soft ones.

The blonde giggled, giving the Ravenclaw girl an extra tight squeeze before letting her go. "It's jasmine. I think." Kitty was a definite connoisseur of scents, especially when it came to her hair, and she had subjected it to all kinds of different experiments over the years, though the colour and length of it were two characteristics which she would never change; she loved it too much as it was. But quite aside from the mint, jasmine, strawberry, vanilla, coconut, rhubarb, ginger, and floral scents which she applied to it, she could wear it up, down, half and half, plaited, twisted... the options were endless and she'd explored them all. It was fun!
Her eyes widened slightly in surprise as Vi leaned in to kiss her, but she paused for only a moment before returning it, her hands moving in to rest on the girl's waist. That was nice...

When Vi felt her good friend's lips moving back against her own, and the gentle touch of Kitty's hands curling around her waist, she smiled into the kiss. This was wonderful, and by gosh, wasn't it just great to smooch friends?
After letting the kiss go on a little longer, Vi pulled back for breath with a small albeit breathless giggle as a certain sight caught her attention. "You now have my berry orchid shade of pretty pink lipstick all over your mouth. It suits you," she joked, before giving Kitty a cheeky wink. "You wanna go hang out near the lake, maybe smooch a little more or just gossip?"

Kitty was in no hurry to pull away, but when she felt the Ravenclaw girl moving back, she mimicked the gesture, taking a few breaths to reaccustom her lungs to oxygen, before giving Vi a bright smile in return, her hands still resting at the other blonde's waist. "Well, that was fun!" she remarked brightly, finally releasing her friend and taking a step back. She put a finger to her lips, then examined the hint of colour left behind- yes, a mirror would have been more convenient, but she was inclined to be entirely forgetful of her physical appearance during the day so that it would really have been a wasted weight on her pockets. "At least it's a nice colour," she remarked with a grin. "And sure! The lake sounds great!"
