With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
There was something on Ollie's mind, something she wanted to talk about to her friends. See to her sex was normal. Yes, innocent bean Ollie isn't afraid of sex. She though was afraid of being bad at what... she is meant to do. The girl wasn't blind, she saw how the hormones in her siblings were raging wilder than beasts in heat but she wasn't like that. She didn't feel an urge to do what they were doing but she loved Gabriel and a part of her knew one day in their relationship this would happen. Of course she can't see into the future so she didn't know whether this would happen a week from now or a year from now.
Today she just needed advice and time with her friends. It was early in the morning and Ollie had been pondering about this while she was in the bathroom washing up her face. Her piercing blue eyes were staring back at her in the mirror like the sapphires they were. Ollie was as far as she knew born with these blue eyes and though she knew if she tried she could change the color.. she didn't want to.
With a hum she looked at the pajamas she was wearing before leaving the bathroom to see if any of her friends were around. Parker was gone sadly and it did made Ollie pout but then she spotted Lydia and she had heard about the rough time she experienced, Clary told her basically everything. With a small smile she grabbed some brownies from her bag and headed over to Lydia's bed. "Good morning." she said as she sat on the foot of her friend's bed. Ollie held out the bag of brownies she retrieved and gave Lydia a supportive smile.
"How are you feeling?" she asked and tucked her legs in. "Talk to me over my mother's brownies?"

Reclining against the headboard of her bed with her knees drawn up in front of her, Lydia tried for what felt the thirtieth time to read the same page but to no avail. She couldn't focus because every single time she got to some descriptor, she thought of him. She thought about the fact that he wouldn't even look her in eyes, and it made her fucking miserable. She knew he was ashamed - hell, she was too - but... he couldn't... at least talk to her? Say that night meant something to him as well but 'sorry, Lyds, you're a cool girl but I can't leave Lexie'? Instead, she was being left it the dark and it hurt her heart.
Determined to try and push him out of her mind once more, Lydia was about to try and refocus when there was somebody on her bed. Ollie? "I didn't think you'd want to talk to me," she said quietly, placing her book down on her beside table. Ollie was somebody she had grown to consider a friend - living with somebody for five years would do that - but she'd have doubts in her mind she would want to continue the friendship once she'd heard. Ollie was such a good person, and Lydia? Lydia was a trash bag. Hell, she wanted to wear a trash bag. Over her head. So she could die... and wasn't that morbid?
But Ollie was smiling at her, inviting her to eat her mother's brownies and encouraging her to talk. After a split second, Lydia reached for a brownie and took a small bite. "S'good," she said, before glancing down at the worn nail polish on her fingers. "I... you know how... sometimes you accidentally shag someone else's boyfriend in the library like an absolute tit and then later she slaps you in front of the whole school and tells you to stay away from him and now the whole school thinks you're a grand old homewrecking slag?" Lydia's eyes raised, meeting Ollie's with a small shake of her head. "No? Because I know and I feel like a right wanker about it."
Ollie wasn't a girl who would judge people by their mistakes. She always looked deeper into their hearts, she could see the good in them even when they couldn't always see it themselves. The young girl adored her friend and she hated seeing her upset. Sure she didn't know why she was upset but that is because Ollie hadn't talked to Lydia about it before so, how would she know else right? Her blue eyes were looking at the brownies as she took one and bit into it. "Mmm they're really good." she assured Lydia and frowned when Lydia said she didn't think Ollie wanted to talk to her.
"Why not?" she asked her with a confused expression. "You're my friend, I always talk to my friends." she told her and tried to remember if there were moments she might have forgotten to say something. "Did i not hear you today to make you believe that? I apologize for that." she said with a small nod. As she watched Lydia eat the brownie, Ollie just nodded and took a bite as well. Lydia then told her what happened and between the insulting words which were really bad and shouldn't be spoken about oneself, the girl slowly lowered her brownie.
"I am so sorry you went through that." she said and just moved in to hug Lydia. "I understand why you are upset and I am so sorry you feel that way." she said softly before breaking the hug so she could look at her friend with concern and yet a smile because she still adored her, no matter her mistakes. "You made a mistake but it wasn't just your mistake." Ollie took another bite out of the brownie. "I mean where two people.. have relations.. two people are at fault." she thought it was quite logical but maybe it wasn't for her.
"You are a sweet girl and if he had a girlfriend then he shouldn't have tried to advance you." Ollie couldn't imagine Gabriel breaking her heart like that, why would that boy do that to his girlfriend? "Why the library? I can't imagine that being comfortable.." she asked, more out of curiosity. "I mean, I'm sorry that was a silly question."

"Because most people wouldn't want to be friends with somebody who did what I did," Lydia said, ducking her head to stare at her lap and away from Ollie's confused expression. Staring at her nails once more, Lydia scratched off some of the deep red polish with her thumbnail. She didn't know why she ever bothered to paint them - they never stayed pristine and clean for long, always ending up chipped after a matter of days... mostly because she picked at them. "You didn't do anything, Ollie. I just..."
The hug caught her off-guard and at first, Lydia tensed before she returned it, albeit a bit awkwardly. It wasn't that she disliked being touched or anything, she just wasn't expecting it in the first place. "I... no, it's nothing to be sorry about. I mean, I deserved it," she said, letting out a small huff. "I don't have any right to be upset when I messed up so bad. It's stupid, it's just... stupid. I'm not the one who got cheated on or anything, I just got slapped and yelled at."
Ollie's declaration that Thomas never should have tried to advance her had Lydia lifting her head, blinking because... "He - it wasn't just him. He's not some... it's complicated. It's not that simple, and he didn't take advantage or anything. We..." It was hard to explain and letting out a groan, Lydia dragged her fingers over her face. "He pushed my hair back, and then we just... we both leaned in to kiss each other. At the same time. He didn't just plant one on me, and I - it's... he's not some sort of heartless scoundrel. He's a good person." She probably sounded like some dimwit, trying to defend the person who'd cheated on his girlfriend with her but Ollie had to understand that he wasn't some sort of monster.
Ollie's question of why the library had Lydia grimacing, glancing down at her hands yet again. "I don't know, we just... it was convenient, I guess. I think a bed would have been more comfortable, but it wasn't really an option," she said with a wry smile. "When... if you ever sleep with Gabe, then definitely go for a bed or a lounge. Not against a shelf."
There were many things that Ollie was aware off. She knew quite well that not everyone liked her boyfriend. Now she didn't know why per se because he was nothing but the sweetest guy in the world to her, quite like her best friend Evan. Sure she wasn't always with Gabriel, they hung out a lot but often in private where it was just them without friends or people around. He was quite romantic and his love for food was really funny so Ollie truly didn't know or understand their dislike for Gabriel but she could see that Lydia really liked Thomas.
Ollie had met Thomas a few times, he seemed quite nice to her but maybe that's because she was close with Evan. She truly didn't know and wished she could do more to help Lydia. "But you do have every right to be upset. Your heart is hurting and I would be upset if mine was too. No matter the reason why." she told Lydia and wondered if she ever allowed herself to just cry. If she ever just sat down and bawled her eyes out, let it all flow because Ollie's mom always told her it was never a crime to cry when you're sad.
"Of course it's not just him, where two make a mistake, two are to blame." she said with a smile. "But that means it's not all your fault either." she didn't want Lydia to feel so bad. "This will all blow over before you know it, people make mistakes but it will get better." She took a bite from her brownie and almost spit it out when Lydia mentioned her having sex with Gabriel. Now Ollie wasn't an expert at psychology or knowing what people do or don't do but she was feeling odd for people assuming things like sex.
"Why if?" she asked Lydia, feeling a bit hurt. "I would sleep with Gabriel but we are just.. not there yet." she said and looked at her brownie. She never was the one talking about this much. Parker made jokes but it wasn't a direct if you ever do it, then do it that way kind of joke. "D-do you really think it's not going to happen?"

Her heart was hurting, yes, and Lydia had a few silent, sobs-wracking-her-entire-body cry sessions under the covers of her bed in the middle of the night, but... so far, she hadn't allowed herself to be that upset in front of others. She didn't necessarily want the pity of them either when really, she wasn't the one who deserved it and she knew from experience that showing weakness in front of certain classmates (cough cough, the Avery's) only incurred more teasing. "Fine, maybe a little right to be upset. Not as much as Lexie though," Lydia eventually conceded.
"50/50 fuck-ups on both ends," Lydia said, one of those wry smiles yet again tugging at her lips. "I don't think this will blow over though. It's a pretty big mark on your school track record. I mean, Evan hates me at the moment - he won't even look at me - and I don't have that many friends to begin with to start losing any." It'll all blow over was what she was told when Greyson Avery stood up on the table in class during and announced to everyone and their uncle that she and her family were shit shovelers. Five years later, Joshua, Dani and her still got teased because of it.
Why if? The hurt tone had Lydia's head snapping towards Ollie, completely befuddled, before she explained, "Because you might not want to sleep with him? Maybe you want to sleep with someone else, or maybe you won't ever want to at all. It's not an inevitability, and I don't want to assume they you definitely will when they may not be the case." That was how she saw it anyway but that was her, mostly logical most of the time. "I didn't say it wasn't going to happen."
